Just off the A38 from Exeter, it was perfect located just a few miles from the hospital It's right next door to a Beefeater restaurant, where the breakfasts are served. Parking can be tight in the evening due to the restaurant. An alternative for food is to nip to the large Sainsbury supermarket just across the road Check in was quick and efficient and the staff were always there with a cheerful greeting every time I walked past reception My room was large with a comfortable bed. I think they're trying to go upmarket a little with a choice of firm pillows on the bed with softer pillows available in the cupboard. Sometimes, you find yourself surprised by the simplest of things, such as bed comfort, room size, a…read moreworking shower, clean furniture etc. Premier Inn runs a good ship, offering all of these things while not being 'perfect' in every way. All we really wanted was a good night's sleep in a comfortable room while we visited friends in Devon, and that's exactly what we got, plus a decent shower, clean bathroom, good air conditioning and a peaceful atmosphere. It's also really handy for the racecourse and the Sunday morning car boot sale, and there's a big Tesco across the road if you need supplies. What might we change? More towels, please! I can think of quite a few four-star hotels that this Premier Inn would put to shame, and we didn't spend a fortune on the room, either. We skipped breakfast, but it's available at the adjoining Beefeater Grill. Parking is also very good.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful; they have even laundered my clothes for free (on request, of course). The English breakfast was delicious and nutritious (+3kg of body weight for 1 week). Location is good for Paignton - close to the sea/ocean (1-2 min walking) and to a bus station. Though, it is a bit far (for walking) from the attractions of Torquay, but you can take a bus or drive yourself.
