Going to the library and looking up books is fundamental in my opinion. Instant gratification isn't great for these kiddos all the time. This library is close to the new crib and although they are going through some renovations, the bones are still strong. Everyone here is so nice and helpful that it doesn't feel like it's real... but it is I love this place. Having the playground outside is a nice little brain dessert after some good reading

I've never had any issues finding books or using the computer, and often come here to study or do remote work at one of the many available tables with outlets. I know libraries are a public service and there's no financial incentive for the employees to keep this place so well-maintained, but you can tell everyone in the community cares about making this facility a friendly, pleasant space for people to enjoy.

What interesting architecture at Coral Gables Library! (1968, same age as me!) I cannot believe…read morethat I have been here 12 years and have never been before. Worthy of a visit if you are in the area. The building was built from native keystone, quarried in the Florida Keys, Honduran Mahogany doors, Spanish clay floor tiles, and wrought iron fixtures. The building's Spanish influence is apparent, conforming to Coral Gables' guidelines for the Mediterranean Revival style. The main reading room has 15-foot high ceilings with exposed wood beams. It was designed by Edward T. Rempe, AIA, and his associate, Wray G. Succop, AIA. The library's interior is a blend of Spanish and contemporary influence.

This library has a good selection in books, is not like other very fancy libraries I have been to,…read morebut it looks clean, nice, neat, and most of it QUIET. It also has the kids corner with nice books for a wide range of ages, and they also have days where they read to the kids and play story time with the book they read. The staff members are more than friendly, and accommodating, you really feel welcomed in here, they try to help you with your requests as much as they can. This location has the computer area but it seems to be busy all the time (which is ok if you bring your own), internet is not as fast but I rather being here than in a Starbucks where the noise is just horrible and the coffee is expensive, or at home where my toddler won't let me finish homework lol. This library is going to be my best friend on my last two classes of the masters

She simply told me there is no quiet space in the library. As she said this kids were going back and forth and I suddenly felt a flashback to my elementary school library. I think the pond is wonderful and the kids activities are to be applauded however, I think every library should have a designated quiet room, area, zone, whatever they want to call it. Just a quiet space where patrons can step in, work, and step out. I was really surprised about this place and I hope that it is better during the week.

The standout here is the Cuban Heritage collection, which is open to the public and has an amazing collection of lots of artifacts from Cuban history. Lots of mixed feelings about this place…read more Plenty of computers and floor space but oddly not enough tables and chairs. The study rooms are like freezers but midday on the second floor is an oven. Plenty of printers but the wifi is spotty. Recently the management changed study room policy greatly limiting the flexibility of group work- resulting in mostly empty rooms as opposed to the constant battle for them. The stacks are quiet but have terrible ambience and even more terrible internet connectivity. It can get a bit creepy at night as desperate study spot vultures circle the shelves behind you. Accidentally taking the elevator down to the M level is also reminiscent of a potential horror movie scenario with its locked cage gates and dimly lit narrow aisles. Nonetheless, the place is open 24/7 during finals and is a reliable place to surround yourself with people doing mildly academic things. You'll at least feel a little less guilty about not studying after sitting here for half the day. Try the music library or the law library for a better library experience. If you're just here to get books, Richter is just as good as any other. At the end of the day, Richter is a University Library which could be a lot worse and has a fair number of amenities, and at least- does it's job passably. More like a 3.5 but I'll round to 4 for effort!

The branch moved down a few blocks, not too far from the old one, to a new shopping plaza which caters to the technological needs of modern libraries. This new building may be slightly larger than the previous one, although it feels the same as the old one. The spacing and the lighting inside are far superior here than at the previous site. Even though the collection is small, you can easily navigate through the book shelves without lack of lighting. This building has glass panels to the north, giving the interior plenty of light and almost no heat. Available here you will find many computer stations and a printer. It is not a very big library, but it has all the basic amenities. There are also tables for groups, chairs for individual reading, and a kids corner, and also a clean restroom and a water fountain. The most precious find at this location is the DVD collection. If you are looking for movies, novelas or TV shows in Spanish, here you will find lots of it. It is a very large collection. Next to the DVDs are the books in Spanish, though they are bestsellers and celebrity books. This library has Wi-fi like all the other libraries. Because of the very limited parking space, it is best to use this library to pick up books only, or for a quick web surfing. The patrons are many and after all, availability is limited.
