First time and definitely not the last time I go to this location of the Miami Dade public library…read moresystem. It's right on the international mall which makes it a free parking, awesome service, and convenient. As soon as you enter the smile of the employees gives you so much peace and feel comfortable. I use the computer and then I print it like I normally do and they were super nice to help me get these things done. Remember to get your free library card online and with this the free library card you get to take home some books or read them online, access Internet, print up to 25 pages per day, and so much more.

I originally started coming here for toddler story time. My son and I would meet with a couple of…read morefriends for some dancing, singing and book reading. They have a nice little corner to keep kids busy, not that my lil adventurous child stays there long but it still helps some. It's always clean and quiet (not too quiet when our children are there). We also enjoy playground behind the building. It even has a lil walkway around the park, perfect for a lil jog.

This is one of the closest branches and the building is relatively new. We also found the staff to be nice as well. One thing that was a bit of a letdown is that the library is pretty small and the kids section is tiny. There is a small play area with the books, but it is very bare bones. It is not very inviting, hey come and read some books and play with the kids, make an afternoon of it vibe.

The only thing I will complain about is the parking; the adjacent lot is VERY expensive ($5 for half an hour) and street parking in the area is definitely a hit or miss. Surprised and a bit disappointed that there isn't a lot for parking that belongs to the library.

First time I'm finally after so many years at this library…read more I went because it was on my way and I needed to work about an hour on my computer. Is not as modern as other libraries but it has everything you need like Internet, all the same library system or you order books online or you can just sit there and read your book. Miami has a lot of libraries, but they are so teeny tiny. I find myself using the free online…read morehold/request system to get 99% of materials delivered to my local branch from other branches. Like others have said, parking spots are limited. I have never paid for library parking in my life, so I was shocked to find that they have pay meters. Welcome to Miami. This is a library of extremes. Some librarians are extremely kooky and some are super nice. For the first couple of years, I only encountered strange/rude librarians. They literally shouted at people who tried to return books in the "return slot" in the counter instead of handing it directly to them. So now I ask what they prefer every time. For months, I was scared and would only return books in the metal return boxes located in the parking lot. Unfortunately, if you return it in the parking lot boxes you will likely be charged late fees even though you return it on time/during their business hours. Luckily in the last year or so, I've met some librarians at the counter that are friendlier. Another extreme is the variety of library goers. On a recent, hot afternoon a third were possibly homeless people trying to rest in an air conditioned place, a third were adults studying or working on their laptops, and a third were parents or tutors working on homework with young children at the tables. Sometimes the library is extremely peaceful and sometimes it's loud and smelly. The hours are kind of strange, so I would check their hours before you go. Currently, this library is closed on Thursdays and Sundays and opens late on other days. They have wifi although I've never used it. They have a limited amount of computers for free use. There is also a kids room. A room for meetings, discussions, and library events is available. My favorite part of the library are the two self check out machines. While the receipt printer doesn't work most of the time, I never have to wait in line to check out items.
