I also explained that I already had a new amp but was concerned it may not have been properly installed by my husband, and I asked that it be assessed as part of the labor. I was told the amp would be evaluated and that, if needed, the head unit could be bypassed to address any volume limiter. The salesperson continued to recommend new speakers. I agreed to replace the speakers, but I was clear that the amp assessment not existing poor sound quality was the issue. The volume issue was not resolved. The system is not louder, which was the sole purpose of the visit. I would not be raising this concern about the cost with the new speakers if the volume had actually increased. I did not pay to improve sound quality, and the current sound quality is worse than before. I was charged for a solution that did not match the problem or the agreed scope of work, and the original issue remains unresolved.

Approximately one year ago I had LCA do an installation on my 2020 Lotus Evora. Konstantin assured…read moreme they were expert at exotic car installation so I scheduled them to do the install at my home. The quality, for the most part, of the components (new speakers, subwoofer, amplifier, etc) they used were great. The problem was the installer (not Konstantin) who really had no idea what he was doing. He had to come three times to try and correct his substandard mistakes which, ultimately, did not provide me with the set-up I wanted. First of all I wanted to be able to plug in an MP3 player that didn't have Bluetooth and that never happened. Secondly I wanted to be able to use Bluetooth for another MP3 player. Apparently he was unaware that my Alpine stereo already came with Bluetooth so he installed an additional Bluetooth. He did attempt to install a wired adapter for the non-Bluetooth MP3 player but in doing so he eliminated my ability to use the speaker for phone calls so that was a no go. Do you think he'd remove the wiring after learning it wasn't an appropriate patch? No, he left it there and detached it from the pre-amp. And the preamp was a discontinued 6 channel that as it turned out was entirely unnecessary. I learned all this because my system started clipping at normal volumes out of the blue. I took my car over to a local audio company thinking that maybe it was a loose wire (actually finding out one of the wires to the passenger side speaker had come loose) only to discover the extent of the screwed up installation. They showed me that under the carpet of the trunk a whole mess of unattached wiring had been left as garbage when the original installer discovered his efforts weren't working. That's when I learned of a multitude of screw-ups by this guy: 1. As I mentioned the preamp (about $150.00) wasn't necessary 2. He didn't bother to either insulate or use enough screws to secure the subwoofer 3. The subwoofer was wired as if it was a regular speaker so it wasn't performing the function it was meant for 4. He could have easily, if he knew what he was doing, tapped into the Alpine stereo to add wiring so I could use my non-Bluetooth MP3 player After spending $3,000 with LCA I am PISSED OFF that they did such a substandard job that ended costing me an additional $680 ($180 for troubleshooting and $500 to correct the mistakes) to fix their fuck-ups. Insulation was installed behind the subwoofer and secured appropriately. The preamp was removed and I threw it away since it was a discontinued product. New wiring was installed from the amplifier to the speakers. A wire harness was installed with a jack from the stereo so I could use my Bluetooth MP3 player. The redundant Bluetooth unit was removed, etc. All I can say is don't trust this company with your audio needs because they have no idea what they are doing!

The process of setting up my appointment and paying for the services was easy and instant. On the day of the install staff met with me and were very courteous and professional. The install was much quicker than I expected. Luis, the technician, explained how the system worked, and he was also very patient with my numerous questions and was friendly and attentive the entire time. After leaving the shop, I noticed a rattling sound coming from inside the car. I spoke with Mike and explained the sound and he asked for me to return to the shop. Upon arrival Mike had Luis immediately take the car to be reviewed once I described the sound, and luckily was able to record the sound on video. The entire time Mike spoke with me and assured me that his technicians are experts and that they would figure it out. Mike was very receptive to my concerns and took them seriously. Within minutes Luis found that the issue were clips in the roof of the car that had nothing to do with the install, and he replaced them for free! I got a…read moredashcam installed, and while (so far) everything functions well, I was a bit puzzled by the position of the dash cam. It was put right in the middle of my windshield, which caused quite a visual distraction, and depending on who tells you, could be against California code regarding dashcam placement. When I got home, I repositioned the camera to one of the spots recommended by the manufacturer, next to the rearview mirror and out of direct line of sight. Another questionable choice, they cut a slot into the plastic that covers my cruise control wires instead of routing cables through the already present gap between the rear view mirror and plastic cover. This could be on me as well, as I never discussed preferred camera position with the business. I took a picture of the cut they made, as well as a picture with a red X to show where the camera was originally placed. Those choices, while a bit puzzling didn't really bother me enough to go back as ultimately I wanted my camera to be properly connected, and cables nicely routes and invisible. Newport Sound did all this perfectly and I am very happy with that. While this won't stop me from coming back myself, it is worth noting for other potential customers.
