Went here because I wanted to help keep the little local guys in business. I knew it would be more expensive than Best Buy...where installations are free...but I was ok with that. I was qouted a not to exceed amount of $600 for a radio and alarm install. Nothing fancy. Ended up charging me $875. No call to get my approval for the additional costs. Installer said the owner would call me to discuss....never heard back. Disappointed and saddened that good intentions were taken advantage of. Just recently had my Sprinter van outfitted by these guys. Dropped it off in the morning and had it back by lunch time. Very professional job and the sound is incredible. I normally do these installs myself but I saw what a great job they did on a friend's van and so I thought I would get a quote just out of curiosity. Well the quote they came back with was so good I would've struggled to beat it buying the equipment and doing the job myself. The price didn't change on completion either, which is what some shops will do. I was dissatisfied with my experience at South County Mobile Electronics in San Clemente (SCME). A few months ago, I purchased a mobile unit from SCME. However, after doing competitive research, I learned I was substantially overcharged for the hardware and the installation. If you don't do price comparison shopping in advance, you will be overcharged. That means you have to know exactly what you want and how much it should cost before you arrive at SCME. Alternatively, you can go somewhere else - where they don't price-gouge. That's what I will do for my next mobile audio purchase. read more

I brought my 2017 Corvette Grand Sport to South County Mobile Electronics to have sound insulation installed. They let me provide the material and they charged me a very reasonable hourly rate to install. I dropped it off this morning and they proceeded to insulate both doors, under the seats and behind the seats. The work they did was impeccable and my car was ready to be picked up around 4:30 this afternoon. Dean and Kevin are extremely friendly and very professional. It is amazing how quiet my car is now and everything went back together perfectly. They were also very careful to make sure they didn't leave a mark anywhere.
