Ralphs reward said 70 cents off and it confirmed that it took the points but then when I filled up it kept the rate at the posted $ amount. Gotta wonder where the extra savings and money is going and if the station just pockets those? Either way not ever coming back here and sketchy homeless people abound. read more

So check it out this is a gas station, how many people right reviews about their local corner gas station. Well I guess I do and there is a really good reason for it. This gas station is actually really nice. There pricing is not the best, the truth is there are two other Shell Stations in the Costa Mesa area and both of them have better pricing but they. It's are dirty, scary and have ZERO customer service. So if your looking for the best price then this station is nit for you. What this place does have to offer is clean fuel stations, a clean liquor store or or convince store that offers a little of everything. There is a great touch less car wash that actually does a really good job. I wish the dryer stayed on a little longer because it's not the best but I love that there are no brushes. They also have good customer service and I say that with a smile on my face. I mean the employees are nice, they say hello when you walk in and they answer yes and no questions. I guess they probably are very knowledgeable about the chips and candy that they sell I'm nit really sure. Now the owners on the other hand are really nice. The older gentleman that has been around for years seems super nice and his daughter is awesome. She helped me figure out a solution regarding their new car was. She literally went out and we walked the car wash together. Super nice and super helpful. Regarding the price of fuel, at the time of this review pricing was around $6.30 for a gallon of diesel but because I shop at Ralph's I saved $.30 a gallon. Sometimes I save $1.00 so shopping at Ralph's and buying from Shell really pays off. Plus the Shell diesel is really good. This place always has nice cars!! There are a couple high end dealerships in the area so there is a good chance you will see a few exotic car or two. Also on Saturdays and Sundays many of the locals pull their high end cars out of the garage and head to the local Cars and Coffee. If I owned this particular gas station I would specialize in some really good unique snacks and turn my little liquor store in to a local cormorant high end pit stop for the locals and offer hard to find beef jerky, mustards BBQ sauces specialty candies from around the world. With all that said this is my favorite gas station in Costa Mesa and for that I give them FIVE STARS! read more

I'm usually the guy who washes his own cars because i don't trust a lot of places. But, when i heard about this touchless car wash - i had to give it a try. I drive a black bmw X4M and everyone knows you can see every water spot on black. BUT, I did the ceramic wash and wow, i was beyond impressed. It is such a smart system that literally explains what it's doing to your car while it washes it. Once the ceramic coat layer is on, with the help of the dryer all the water just slips right off with very minimal water spots. It's quite impressive!! 10/10 in my book, i will be coming here from now on. read more

The location is very convenient for those exiting the 73 Freeway or are going down Bristol on your way to catch the toll road. It has a very good price point if you have Shell Rewards and a Shell Credit Card because it gives the cash price rather than the Credit price. You can save sometimes $0.20-$0.30 per gallon that way. The convenience store is small but clean and well stocked. I have not used the carwash so I cannot comment on that. I like how you can be traveling down Bristol, roll right in the entrance and roll right back out without missing a beat. Easy access seems like a small thing but for those of us who are always moving it's a nice feature. read more

If you are a Tesla owner, READ THIS before making the decision to go. First off, i LOOOVED the touchless carwash. It was just what i was looking for. Unfortunately, i didn't read these reviews before going and i scrapped my left back rim pretty bad. The entrance is not the best and i had to back up and go forward very cautiously several times just to get in, but not cautiously enough bc i still managed to scrap my rim. Mind you my car is less than 2 months old. The sound of my rim scrapping against the curb was painful, i felt my body go cold. Worst feeling ever. The possibility of scraping the lower bumper or any of the rims is a very high possibility with the way this entrance is designed. I had to pay $120 to do a rim repair the next day, so this car wash ended up coasting me $133 dollars. Sad, because i would love to come here weekly, but not willing to go through that stress again. read more

I came here one morning to purchase some gas. It was pretty early in the morning, but I was within business hours. Nevertheless, the gas station convenience store was not open. I drove across the street and purchased gas somewhere else, in an establishment that had the courtesy to let me come in to browse snacks and use the restroom. read more

I know this seems petty but I'm quite annoyed by their car wash rewards card. I bought $10 deluxe car washes every time I come. When it was time to cash in my "free" car wash, they gave me the $7 bottom of the line wash. I told them that I always buy the deluxe- they said I could upgrade for $3 more. This will be my last time coming here for a wash or gas for that matter. I complained- the manager wouldn't even look at me. Chevron is down the street and they give the deluxe wash for FREE after you buy 5. Car wash is a joke anyway if you drive a pu truck- takes a few tries to get inside. I know it's only $3 but bad customer service gets you bad reviews. read more

I've been coming to this gas station for 10 years because it is close and convenient. Horribly overpriced albeit. My car needed air for one of the tires so I stopped by to fill it up really quick. The guy running the shop today refused to turn the air on! I explained I am a loyal customer and live right down the street and right now I just need a little air for my tire. He refused. He said there was no remote switch for him to turn it on and that I needed to turn it on with coins. I replied noting he could just give me the "air token" that the other gentlemen usually gives me if there is a need to turn it on. He said no. I asked what his name was, and he threatened to call the police and that it was private property. WTF. Never going here every again, extremely disappointed. Go to the Chevron on Bristol and Campus if you need air. You can turn their air station on by yourself outside for FREE. (As it should be to customers by law.) read more

Getting gas here was OK. The machine was working fine. However, I came here because they have a car wash machine, and that did not do any good job... I got $7 car wash since I just needed a quick wash near my office. I drove into the car wash area and realized how cheap and old the machine looks. As it started washing my car, I already started looking for somewhere else to get my car washed... It was soooo weak! I guess I should have picked the Deluxe Wash, but I expected a quick wash will at least rinse all windows. Some of my windows were pretty dusty after a "car wash" here. I have used the drive-thru car wash MANY TIMES and found no problems with it so I don't understand how someone would get scratches. I did not get gas at this station. This is a review of the automated car wash attached to the Shell station: If you like your car's paint job, avoid this station's car wash! It will scratch up your car! I went here trying to avoid the $50+ price tag typical for the hand-wash car wash places in the area. Unfortunately, this place drove me right to them! It only cost about $12 for a full-service car wash, but the scrubbing brushes left hundreds of fine scratches all through my car's paint job! Terrible! read more

stay away from Shell gas station at 1512 s.e bristol Costa Mesa, CA as this merchant will not release a 125.00 pending transaction now four days after i purchased 14.25 in gas which posted to my account. the owner makes a sarcastic reply to my yelp stating "...you can pay cash...credit card company is holding the pending charge...should release 48-72 hours...american express has advised me it is the merchant who must release the pending transaction of 125.00. this the second time this has hastened to me at this same station. i only stopped to top off my tank as my tank was near full. i put my card in and it approved and i placed nozzle into my car, no gas would pump and then it printed a receipt for 0.00 and i placed nozzle back and started over. second attempt i purchased 14.25. american express is aware and they will take action if merchant fails to release after the 10th day. stay away from this shell gas station!!!!!! read more

It's a newly refurbished Shell Station with not enough pumps. The really got cheap on the refurb. Otherwise it's just fine.

The employee that works the morning shift is extremely unprofessional! I've gone there only a few times in the morning to get snacks, but each time he has either asked an inappropriate question about my relationship status or says comments that make me feel extremely uncomfortable. I work in the building behind the gas station but encounters with him make me feel so uncomfortable that I end up walking a little further to another gas station just to avoid him. I always use their drive through car wash and no complaints what so ever. What I especially like about this place was a guy working their named Enrique he was super helpful and greeted me with a huge smile. I accidentally told him the wrong number pump, and instead of most gas station attendants getting frustrated with you he said no problem and fixed my issue.
