South Bend Winery specializes in mostly sweet and fruity wines but also makes a few dry wines. They offer two levels of tastings: a basic tasting which includes ten, one-ounce pours, or you can pay more to get a Chacuterie board and to keep the glass. They also serve wine by the glass. The tasting menu is pre-selected, and with so many wines, plan to spend over an hour to try them all. The atmosphere here is great! Perfect for a date or to come with friends on the weekend. Stayed in Greenwood over the weekend and was looking for something to do on a Friday. This place was perfect for enjoying a nice meal, wine, a beautiful setting, and trivia! The wine is on the sweeter side at least what we had which was wine slushes and a port. I didn't try the other wines to be fair. Better deal to get a bottle they were mostly under $20. They had a brick oven for pizza going too. Lots of seating options and we ordered from the bar window. Overall was a perfect way to end a work week. It really filled out by 6 for trivia almost all of these spots were taken, we arrived around 5. Check it out! read more

The atmosphere was similar to having a gathering at a friend's house. They had well-lit table areas and games to play. They had seating outside as well, with a fire pit. The staff did not give details about what seating was available or ask if this was our first time in. We had to wait awhile to be seated even though they had multiple servers and only a few pairs of customers. They had country music playing in the sitting area. The service was acceptable, but the food was not. Our table ordered a couple things off the menu that sounded great. The execution was off. We ate some of the food but later became sick. The wine tasting along with the charcuterie board was suboptimal. The wine that was presented during the tasting did not meet expectations. All of the wines had a very distinct taste that I didn't like, almost like grape skin or muscadines. The board was lacking things from portion size to a variety of different things to pick from. It was very minimum in the selection of meat and cheeses. Our table did not complain once, but it seemed that the staff noticed that we were not eating the food and did not charge us for it. All in all, I would come back to see if they have improved, but I'll be bringing my own drinks and snacks just in case. read more

My husband and I have been to South Bend Winery a few times and have had issues every time. The first time we went the person waiting on us neglected to give us our discount for purchasing a full case of wine. I was checking my receipt in the car and luckily noticed it before we left the winery. The second time we were there we had returned a couple of empty wine bottles for credit and the person waiting on us neglected to give us our credit. Again, luckily I checked my receipt before we left. The third time we went down to purchase a few specific bottles of wine and when we got there we were informed that they were out of two of the wines we wanted, even though they were showing available on their website. (I checked before we went down.) The fourth time we went to the winery, again we wanted a few specific wines. I even checked via Facebook Messenger to be sure the wines we wanted were in stock. Low and behold when we got to the winery and tried to place our order, they were out of one of the wines. Needless to say, this will be the last time that I attempt to purchase wine from this winery. They don't know what they have in stock and do not updated their website to show what wines are available. read more
