I went in initially forgetting about the mask mandate from the city. All the same, it's my choice. They get fined if their employees aren't wearing masks but they can't get fined if customers aren't. I walked in and an employee asked me if I had a mask. I said no. Told him I forgot and I'd be out of his hair in a minute. He proceeded to tell me that they couldn't sell to anyone without a mask or they'd lose their liquor license. I knew this to be a lie so I pushed back. He insisted, but couldn't cite the specific ordinance. I went and got a mask and came back. I was checked out by the owner and asked if what the employee told me was true. He said no. At that point I took my mask off and asked to pay for my goods. The employee then snatched the bottle from the owner and said " will you please put the mask on while you're in the store?" I said "I'd rather not." He proceeded to put my product down behind the counter and told me "bye." I then turned to the owner who told me he would sell me the product. They said the weren't sure about the ordinance and just wanted to be safe. I told them they have an obligation to know what it says and they shouldn't be telling people, falsely, they they'll lose their license by selling to unmasked individuals. The young employee continues to belittle me. Although I never cursed him, he called me a jerk and an asshole. I told the owner that he should train his employees better so they don't talk to customers that way. The little employee said "I'll be happy to train your ass out in the parking lot." It was an open threat and the owner never batted an eye. Please don't shop here because they have no concept of customer service and the owner is ok with his employees openly threatening customers.
