For some context, my dress was bought as is from a sample sale. As someone who is is not very tall in height, the dress visibly needed hemming. The wonderful team of Luxury Alterations successfully and beautifully hemmed my dress to my liking without losing its integrity. Even with the inches taken off from the front of my dress, they were still able to allow a beautiful train in the back which looked beautiful as shown in the photos. Additionally, I also wanted to be able to move around during my wedding dance and reception. Marine suggested a 5 point bustle that allowed me to move around and dance comfortably throughout the night. And she did it beautifully without making my dress look frumpy. It was like wearing two dresses for the price of one. As a budget bride, I was worried about cost as many times the price of alterations is as much, if not more, than the price of the gown. Fortunately, I was quoted a very fair price that, to my delight, was less than the cost of my discounted dress. My wedding was 8 months ago but I still look at my dress with awe and I have Luxury Alterations to thank for it.

Lily Bridal, where I purchased my wedding gown, highly recommended them, and I'm so grateful they did. My gown was a stunning Kitty Chen designer wedding dress, and together with my cathedral veil, it was an investment many thousands of dollars. It was incredibly important to me to trust an experienced alterations expert with something so special, and from the very first fitting, I knew my dress was in the best hands. Marine and her husband were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming throughout the entire process. They listened to every detail I wanted, treated my gown with the utmost care, and made every appointment feel stress-free and enjoyable. They met every deadline and every wish I could have asked for. My gown fit like it had been custom-made just for me, and I felt absolutely beautiful and confident on my wedding day. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and genuine care exceeded every expectation. Thank you, Marine and your husband, for helping make one of the most important days of my life so perfect. I will always be grateful and enthusiastically recommend Luxury Alterations to every bride looking for exceptional talent, professionalism, and kindness.

My go-to alterations place, Rose's, apparently did not survive the pandemic shutdown,…read moreunfortunately. So I had to go looking for another place. I found Absolute Alterations on Yelp, was impressed by all the good reviews and went there to get four pairs of pants hemmed, with one waist taken in. Not even one of these were done correctly. Not. One. It honestly should have been a red flag when the woman hemming my pants never used a ruler, when I had to keep telling her to raise the hem over and over, and had to practically beg her to pin up both pant legs by suggesting that not everyone's legs are exactly symmetrical. It was really a red flag when, one day before pick-up, I get a phone call asking me, "Now, *which* of your legs is longer than the other?" What?! What kind of question is that? Did they lose all the pins? Are they altering by guesswork? I honestly have no idea how something as simple as hemming pants could be done so consistently badly by anyone, let alone a "professional", but when I got them home, every one was still wiping up the floor, even in higher heels than what I'd worn to the fitting; two of the pants had a longer left leg than right, and the one altered waist was still so big, the pants kept drooping down. I suppose I could go back and insist on a fix. But why bother? It's not like I was asking for a finely tailored recreation of an Elizabethan court gown. I needed pants hemmed. You can't get more basic than that. If you can't do that right, there's no point in wasting more time. So, now I'm without four pairs of wearable pants, plus down $82 for nothing, and still in need of a tailor who managed to pass 7th Grade Home Ec. Don't make my mistake. Stay away.
