Mary is amazing! I found her through a guided meditation event she was hosting (new moon/full moon)…read moreand absolutely loved it. I went on to try Reiki services (which I never tried before and was skeptical) and it was incredible! I have referred several friends and all have felt the same! It is hard to find someone who is both a Licensed Counselor and a Reiki Master Practioner. Let alone find one in the suburbs. Mary is both and is a god send. She is relatable, wise, positive, and funny. Her office is so relaxing and welcoming. Her love of what she does and the clients she serves shines through in her work, and her ability to combine traditional and non traditional therapies is a gift! Highly recommend River's Journey and am excited to go back!

She is never judgmental and always compassionate. Mary will help lead you through life with a positive outlook and give you the tools you need to move forward. After a year of seeing Mary, I decided to give reiki a try. Reiki is "a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being." At first the idea of reiki sounded crazy to me. But after my first experience of doing reiki with Mary I am a true believer in its powers. I highly recommend Rivers Journey Counseling.

Details: I highly recommend Wilma if you are prepping for job interviews and feeling nervous, discouraged or any of the other feelings that come along with the search for a new job. I was a few months into my job search. I was getting quick responses from several companies just based on my resume which was encouraging. I'd talk to the recruiter and they'd quickly pass me onto the next stage (interviews with the lead or team). I always felt they went well but didn't materialize into an offer. I had an opportunity at Capital One that I really wanted to nail so I called on Wilma who was referred to me by my husbands business networking group. When I knew Wilma and I were going to be spending an hour drilling mock interview questions, I was very nervous. But it was anything but. Shes incredibly thoughtful and direct, while also building up my confidence. She also provided a sheet of interview Qs to ask beyond the typical "why do you like working here". I asked everyone I spoke with the culture Q she shared -- "whose leadership style in the organization inspires you and why" -- and EVERY single person paused to say "that's a great question" before giving me very different responses which made me feel good about the company to hear great things about very different people at Capital One. I will keep your information on hand for the future and would be happy to recommend your services to anyone I know!

As a teacher for the past 12 years with many (what I thought to be) niche skills, I did not think I had many options for a new career. With the help of career assessments and coaching services, Wilma helped me figure out the value of my transferable skills. Wilma's personality, confidence, and humor are contagious. I believe that without her, I would not have gotten the first job for which I applied and interviewed. She was so understanding and supportive of me from the very beginning. I had to pause my career search so that I could focus on my mental health while working at my previous job, and Wilma was very patient with me. She maintained the same high level of understanding, support, and patience as I navigated taking career assessments, job searching, coaching, resume/cover letter writing, networking, interview preparation, and negotiation. Wilma made herself available to me, she listened to me, and provided me with great advice and insights. She was open, honest, and judgment-free. She is a breath of fresh air, and I was truly impressed with her and her company from start to finish. I highly recommend investing in yourself and hiring Life Working to help you at such an important time in your life. You will learn so much about yourself along the way! Thank you, Wilma, and thank you, Life Working!

Big, big, big mistake purchasing a Living Social voucher from this company!! My curiosity of having…read moremy resume professionally reviewed combined with the low cost of the voucher ($9) resulted in this nonsense, so I guess that says something about the cost of curiosity. I'm glad I didn't spend much but I still want to warn others about what you could be getting by doing business with this company. Ok, here we go... 10/8 - I called their office to request the e-mail address to send my resume for my review. 10/9 - I sent my resume & received a Delivery Fail Auto Response. So, I called again to request the correct address. No apology for the inconvenience received, but I was given the "correct" e-mail address to send my resume. Tried again, failed again, so I went to the website & sent them an e-mail explaining what had occurred & requesting the correct e-mail address yet again. 10/10 - I sent another e-mail requesting they confirm the new e-mail address is actually correct before I attach my resume. 10/11 - TCO Writing replied & included the correct e-mail address for reviews & also let me know I could submit it via their website. 10/12 - I reply with the details of my voucher & attach my resume for review. 10/18 - After hearing nothing, I contacted TCO via e-mail requesting an update. They replied the same day and said my resume review had been completed on 10/15. I replied and explained I had not received it & asked where is it? Clearly expecting them to send resend it right? Sounds logical... but nothing...crickets... and I still haven't received a reply or my resume review. So to recap, I've contacted them 9 times, still don't have a resume or the "Interview Questions" included with the price of the voucher along with $20 toward a professional service... I have nothing but $9 less than I had before.. At this point, it's a Yelp review & a BBB complaint. And I would never trust this company to review or prepare anything unprofessional for me, much less, an actual professional document.

I bought a coupon from Amazon local for the service. When I got to the office I was told I would…read morehave to pay additional money above the cost of the coupon for the service. This was not stated on the coupon. When I later asked the owner about this I was told she was not responsible for what the Amazon coupon said. I would think the owner of a business should check what Amazon publishes. The resume and cover letter they presented to me were full of grammatical errors. When I asked for a refund I was told that their policy was not to give refunds after twenty-four hours from processing. I questioned this because I alerted them within twenty-four hours of receiving the files via email that I was not at all satisfied. It turns out they count the twenty-four hours from they day they processed my advance payment. My advance payment was made in good faith the evening I met with the owner for my in-office meeting. I did not get the documents for about a week after I paid the bill. How would a person know he was not satisfied until he had a chance to review the work? After several emails, the owner told me that my documents had not been reviewed by the editors prior to being sent to me. Why not? How could that happen? In one of the emails to me, an already unhappy customer, the owner of the company said, "Again, if your documents are not to your sanctification we offer to rewrite and revise the work we guarantee." Note the misuse of the word, "sanctification". This was a clear indication that I should not use their service. Four or five days later I received a corrected resume but no corrected cover letter. The corrected resume still had grammatical errors. When I inquired about the missing corrected cover letter, that was not addressed. I sent an email yesterday just asking for my money back. I got another email from them asking me to point out their grammatical errors to them. Really? I thought writing was their business and English was one of their tools. I would not hire a carpenter to work on my house and then coach him on using his tools. At this point, the promised resume and cover letter are not complete but they are a week late. I got a phone message today asking me to call them. I am so done with dealing with their incompetence all I want is my money back. My advice is that if you want a quality writing job for a resume, cover letter, or other project you need to go someplace other than TCO writing service.
