I moved in last Monday…read more Initially, my experience researching the building was admittedly a little bit rocky -- I put in my application and did not hear anything back over several weeks toward the end of the summer, which was frustrating because they do charge an application fee to explore them as an option. I was finally able to get in touch with their assistant property manager, but much to my disappointment (and surprise) I was rejected for residency. As I continued to research places to go, I was beginning to find out that due to COVID, many living spaces around Fairfield county were being lost to college kids whose parents are wary of them living on campus, drying up moving options for people like me who wanted out of where I was, but wished to remain in the area. On a lark, I reached back out to two other individuals CC'd on my email discussions with the APM and asked for a reconsideration. Much to my delight, Matt, a partner at Crestwood, who owns the building, emailed me back the very same night. I advised him of the resources I am working with, fully illustrated my situation and he promised to get back me the next day with an answer as to whether or not we can proceed. He absolutely followed through and made good on his word. After giving me a call personally to let me know the good news the next night, we chatted quite a bit about self-funding through grad school (never a cheap prospect) and he inquired as to what space I'm interested in, do I have any specifics or preferences? He really went out of his way to gauge what I wanted so he could connect me with the best fit. I ended up taking a spot on the 10th floor in a bright, airy apartment with outstanding views and high ceilings (I'm on the north side of the building, facing the Fairfield County Courthouse and overlooking the Arcade) It is clear the owners take good care here - the lobby is spotless, the elevators and common areas are all equally inviting and everything overall has been an absolute breeze. I can't thank Matt enough for taking the time to understand my individual circumstances, the time limit I was facing where I was and through that, enter into a business relationship that I feel completely confident in. A couple tips for living downtown: 1. It is not scary. Fairfield county is absolutely horrid when it comes to rental pricing and Bridgeport is frequently overlooked. While all the attention goes to the North End, landlords know this and the rents are becoming on par with Fairfield, Norwalk, etc. People historically have overlooked downtown because of a non-existent crime element that I have yet to see and haven't seen down here in quite some time. I've spent a lot of time down here over the years and It's a hidden gem. 2. As Bob Dylan once said, "Watch the parking meters!" While parking around the block is pretty easy to get, you would be amazed at how quickly the meter maids come out. They've got little handheld receipt tape things and they'll cook up a ticket for you in seconds flat. You get a reprieve over the weekends, but set a timer on your phone or watch and you'll never have an issue. 3. Invest in a pull-cart. While the garage is not far from the building at all, you don't want do the one-trip shuffle with armfulls of groceries. I took this advice myself and it is lifechanging. 4. Always, ALWAYS order your coffee from the Dunkin' downstairs in advance on the app - you do not want to be stuck in the deluge that is the workforce of People's Bank tower next door, city hall or the angriest court staffers on earth at one of the two courthouses nearby

I was told in June 08 that my lease was up even though I wasn't able to move in till October. Tried talking with the leasing office but they were near impossible to get in touch with. When i finally did get in touch with them I was told I could renew the lease or go month to month for an additional 150 a month. Personally I will NEVER deal with them again. Besides my issues it was a very nice apt. I lived on the 10th floor so I had a nice view of LI sound, and 95:/. I was also told that all the original windows would have storm windows installed and they did not. The wind in the winter against the windows was horrible and very drafty.

Her level of hospitality from the moment you become a resident goes beyond any other experience I have had in customer service and friendliness. We have established such a beautiful community here that often meets by the amazing pool and deck for potlucks and birthday celebrations. With having two young children, I love that we are multi-generational community that looks out for each other. You can't find another place like it in Fairfield County. Alex is incredible and responsive with requests, accommodations and finding solutions should something come up with your unit. Truly an exceptional experience.

We lived here for one year 2011-2012. We moved because of a job transfer, but we would NOT have…read morere-signed. Everyday that we lived here, I felt a nagging in my head that we had not made a good choice. The staff is ok - the property manager changed hands twice during our time here which made things disorganized and in general is not a good sign. Daryl was great, as was one other girl who worked in the office (blonde hair, can't remember her name), but the others gave us dirty looks every time we went in. And the maintenance staff, while very friendly, didn't seem to know what they were doing and every single time something broke or went wrong they had to come back at least 2-4 times before it was actually fixed. They really play up the amenities, but the gym equipment is crappy and often broken and we always found dog crap on the volleyball court. Important things to keep in mind: 1. We lived in the first few buildings, closest to the main office, and our neighbors were great. However, this is not typical. The building accepts section 8, and what's more, there are MANY families with young children. We met people who had nightmare stories to tell about noise and disturbances (the walls are definitely paper thin). And the pool was often crawling with kids to the point that we wouldn't even stay. When you're at the pool, security comes by and checks for your resident ID, but kids splashing everyone and screaming - that's ok. 2. Your address is Trumbull, but you're living in Bridgeport. And not a nice part of Bridgeport either. Forget about walking anywhere. There was actually a shooting RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the complex while we lived there, and we'd heard about car and apartment break ins. There is security but I think it's very easy to get past them. If I had a friend moving to the area, I would definitely want them to know the above and what they're getting into! This is the third managed property that we lived in (the others were with Archstone and Mid-America Apartments) and this was the worst!

Both the Metro Star and Metro View locations have all of the luxury amenities and the buildings and Milford harbor views were gorgeous. Me and my wife would often say when we come home after work that we felt like we were "on vacation". Also, the location is top notch as far as walking proximity to local downtown Milford restaurants, stores, and the train station. From getting an apartment ready for our move-in last minute, to diligent property maintenance, and prompt responsiveness, we could not be happier with Carol, Donna, Luke, and of course Teddy. Long after the lease was signed, their "can-do" attitude and professionalism were constants - highly recommended with confidence! PS Teddy is hands down the best maintenance/repair person around...super friendly, helpful, and a great guy!

Whatever you do, do not even consider moving into any of the Metro Star Apartments in Milford! The…read moremanagment could not be more resident unfriendly. Long story short, I moved into the apartments on the green in Milford and within a short time, Metro Star started a construction project yards from my apartment window. They didn't tell me this was going to happen before I signed my lease, and have withheld any type of information about the project from its residents since then, like how long it is supposed to last or expected disruptions during the project. I had a nice view, in a quiet apartment (which is why I chose it), and now there is zero view and construction noise from 7 am to 7 pm, sometimes 7 days a week for the past 8 months or longer. I tried to be understanding, but the disruptions became more and more - blocking access to the building's parking, yelling and screaming workers, trucks coming in and out all day, idling for hours at a time causing such bad fumes I can't even open my windows at night after they leave because of the risidual smell. Add to that, there are workers staring directly into my apartment, literally yards away. I realize that Metro Star is a company and that as a company they have a right to build new units, so I asked nicely to be let out of my lease a few months early, and was told no because it would violate the Fair Housing Laws - a lie. When I pushed back against this perversion of the law, I was simply told no, they don't let people out of their lease for any reason. So I asked if I could move to another unit or building away from the noise, and was told I could but would be charged $1,500 fee. I am not sure who made that nonsensicle decision, but charging a penalty for a resident that wants to sign a new lease on a new unit but charging them $1,500 for the "honor" seems like maybe someone needs to go back to school. The last email I received sums it up perfectly, and this is a direct quote: "I'm sorry to say management has denied any concessions for the construction." The rent here is NOT cheap. There are MUCH better buildings in the area and there are MUCH MUCH better landlords. The greed that Metro Star exhibits is disgusting. They already have such a bad reputation in the community for overbuilding; and from the folks I have spoken to, it will only dive deeper into the sewer due to their lack of any kind of resident relations. Bad business practices result in bad business performance and I am bummed because I feel Milford is going to have a bunch of empty apartment buildings that will fall into disrepair as Metro Star mismanages their apartments into the ground.

The floors are always beautiful and the coin op laundry rooms are also always cleaned and appliances updated as necessary. I couldn't wait to move out for various reasons including the poor managament. This place is a complete joke. Avoid if you can. There are multiple options around that are actually worth the money. Do your own research. First and foremost, the new ladies in the leasing office Rachael and Arlinda are super rude and clueless. There is a certain level of professionalism and knowledge that you need to have when working in a complex leasing office and quite honestly, that's not it. Because how can you explain that they've organized a resident event and got drunk on the premises? If you're going to call your property a "luxury rental", then your staff should act like it. The gate has been broken for over 8 months now and it has never been fixed. Someone's car even got broken into. Following the incident, I've emailed them asking about when the gate would be fixed and they gave me tons of excuses with no solution or expected resolution date. My email was sent out on July 16th. As of when I moved out, September 7th, the gate was still broken. Go see for yourself. It's advertised as luxury but it is really not. It definitely looks great from the outside but there are so many issues that needs to be addressed and they are not addressing it. Hence, why they have so many empty units. Also, there is poor windows/doors isolation during the winter time. You will need sealers and your electricity bill will be high. Let's talk about the housekeeping and maintenance team though, they are AMAZING! Very friendly but perhaps overworked. If you ask me, I strongly believe that the 5 stars reviews are incentivized by management in attempt to get their rating up. Stay away from Ten Trumbull if you can! Do your research. Read the reviews. It's all public information. Finally, they do not respect their own lease. I've moved out greater than 30 days ago and still have yet to receive my security deposit back. They do not follow up on resident concerns but they have time to organize food trucks and ice cream trucks. There's bigger issues that needs to be addressed especially when you are charging about $3K monthly in rent for a one bedroom apartment with poor isolation. Do your own research and you'll see. The best part of my experience living there was the other residents. They are super friendly and they are what i'll miss the most about living there. I hope this helps.
