Up until about six weeks ago, everything was perfect. For context, we are getting married in mid-September. Then he emailed me saying he would not be available but would send me someone he trusted on August 2nd. I reached out to the new DJ and never once received a response. I told Eric and he assured me this would be rectified. Never was. I was constantly asking for status updates or solutions for over a month, Eric eventually told me that he was unable to perform at the wedding and had no other options. Very disappointing, but up until this point Eric himself had been very reasonable. Until it was time to refund the deposit. While we were frantically looking for a new DJ, I had MULTIPLE DJ companies tell me this is not the first, but one of many many horror stories they had heard from Eric's company. A few people that claimed to know him personally said they were not surprised that I was in the situation as he has done this before, and it might have been a blessing in disguise, as when he does perform at weddings he is unprofessional and downright unacceptable. Again this took over a month and countless emails (reminding Eric to refund me) when he asked if he could set up a "payment plan", for a $200 deposit. I was frustrated because we now were out the fee of two down payments for DJs. It took me threatening to take "further actions" aka court, for Eric to send me my refund. I have attached the transcript between Eric and myself for full transparency. Yes, he was absolutely respectful during the conversations, but his business practice is horrible and honestly, I truly do not believe that he ever had a backup DJ available at all. , I would hate to see anyone else go through this heartache and beg all future couples to do yourselves a favour and avoid Eric and his DJ services at all costs.

My husband and I had some concerns with the DJ he set us up with and when I brought those to him, he was very condescending and dismissive of my concerns. We had a lot of issues with the DJ he sent leading up to and on our wedding day. Eric was generally rude and unprofessional in emails and did not give us a clear idea of what we were paying for. He absolutely hid the fact that he has other DJ's he works with and could send instead of himself, who you think you've booked with. Go with literally anyone else!

We're from out of town, so it was their website that initially won us over; this was clearly an amazing group of performers, and their song selection was precisely what we were hoping for. From there, we got into Skype contact with James, who was immediately charming, obliging, and very practical. Which set another precedent: that this is a group of professionals. There was zero friction in the preparation. Could they travel to Niagara-on-the-Lake? Absolutely. And stay late? Sure. Learn a song? Yes. Accommodate a father-daughter dance, pause their set for a brief ceremony at midnight, play something on loop for a traditional Slovakian wedding dance? No problems. And they had recommendations and advice at every turn. The day of, they showed up early and handled all their prep. They managed to tiptoe in during the speeches, perfectly timed for the first dance. A miscue on our part was handled in stride, and all night they were totally attentive to both us and our guests. It goes without saying that the music was incredible, that everyone was up and dancing, that the vocalist was out of this world and that our man James killed it on trumpet. Having the St. Royals relieved us of so much worry. We had no qualms about relying on them, and our experience bore that out: they were consummate professionals, and amazing performers. Our guests are still raving about the quality of the music. And please, whatever you do: don't forget the brass.

My husband and I got married on September 21, and as a cool experience for our guests, we had wanted to have a food truck serve poutine as our late night snack. Living in Edmonton and planning an Ontario wedding isn't easy so we had reached out to Personal Touch last summer to ensure we booked early. We had been excited to hear, via email, that the portable deep fryers they had were booked but that the food truck we wanted was available for our weekend. They sent us an estimate outlining the costs for the poutine truck, gave us a (fairly vague) contract to fill out, and by the Fall had paid for the service in full. Fast forward to September 4th - we get an email from them stating that there due to an over sight on their end, they had booked the food truck out to a festival on our wedding weekend. They told us when they reviewed the contract, the pricing we had been quoted was for the poutine from their portable deep fryers and nowhere did it say that we had booked the food truck (despite the actual estimate and several emails stating that we wanted the food truck and them replying it was available). After some back and forth conveying our frustration and disappointment in this very last minute change, they offered us a $100 refund for the inconvenience. The night of the wedding, our primary caterer assured us they had been in contact with Personal Touch and that arrangements had been made for Personal Touch to call them so they could bring down their pulled pork to put on the poutine. Everyone had already been served when we realized the pulled pork hadn't arrived. We tried to not be too disappointed because at least our guests had gotten food. We contacted them October 15th about the refund which we hadn't yet received and were told that it would be looked into, as they had thought the etransfer had been organized already. November 3rd we checked in again with no response. November 9th we email again and finally get an answer that a cheque had been reissued and should arrive soon. Living in Edmonton, we usually give mail from Ontario 7-10 days to arrive, and it's now been almost a month and we still havent received a cheque. At this point, we are beyond frustrated and don't know if we will ever get the refund. I would definitely not recommend them to cater an event again.
