We found a number of our vendors simply by asking family and friends. This was also the case with Peter; Rachel's uncle used to work with him many years ago and recommended Peter's DJ services to us. We were so glad to make that connection! Prior to the wedding, we met Peter in person once - the day we signed the contract - and otherwise communicated over email and Skype. It was perfect for us since we held the wedding in Central NY but planned it from San Francisco. Peter was always quick to respond to emails any time we had questions and always incredibly helpful. It took us a long time to settle on songs to use throughout the ceremony and reception but Peter was helpful, flexible and adaptable when working with us on a late schedule. He comes prepared with a list of song suggestions from previous clients that he can give to help with your choices for first dances, cake cutting, ceremony, etc. As we got to the week before the wedding we changed our mind on what we wanted for music playing during dinner. We told Peter to play songs from the 1950s to today over the course of dinner - essentially walking us through the decades. That was all the direction he needed to run with it and make it a hit. We trusted Peter to pick songs when we couldn't; we decided a day or two before the wedding that we wanted to do the "shoe game" during the reception and delegated the song selection to him without a second thought. He nailed it - with game show music! We had a surprise firework showing in the evening. Peter didn't know about this until we told him 10 minutes prior. We asked him to "make an announcement" for people to stay just a bit longer - without giving away the surprise - because many were starting to leave. He did a great job with the announcement and gave the attendees a hint of what was coming by playing Katy Perry's "Firework" song. Our event was outside and the dinner and reception were held primarily inside a large tent. We used Peter's wireless uplights to help illuminate the tent. This was HUGE for us. One of our biggest worries going into this event was powering everything on generators. Knowing that Peter had *wireless* lights he could bring for us - that ran on batteries and wouldn't need the generator was a huge win for us. He let us customize the colors we used for the uplights to match the wedding colors. Peter is extremely detailed in his planning and preparation prior to the event which we saw reflected as a seamlessly run event - with him leading the way. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him to anyone who may want DJ services in the future.

He put together a day-of schedule that he distributed to us as well as all of our other vendors (photographer, officiant, etc) so everyone knew what was happening and when. He also was a great help for music selections and played exactly what we wanted-- we requested a couple of Hindi songs which was no problem for him to incorporate into our reception setlist. He also provided music during and before our ceremony. We had music playing as guests arrived and two microphones for the ceremony for an officiant and a vocalist. We had one of his other DJs, Jeff, do our actual wedding and he did a phenomenal job from ceremony to reception. Our venue's power went out and the only reason we were able to continue the event was due to them being prepared and having a backup battery speaker/lights. They legitimately saved the day. Before we got married, we referred him to another couple who went with him -- that referral was based just on the meeting we had with Brian, which went very well! We have now attended other weddings since ours, and it has underscored JUST how talented Brian is! His songs transition from one to the next, seamlessly ... and he knows how to increase and then decrease the rhythms for maximum dancing and listening pleasure. We saw other DJ's klutz their ways through the evenings, and it made us realize how skilled Brian is. He is personable, very eager to please and make sure you have just what you want & need for your event, and is reasonably priced and extremely accommodating. We found Brian Wright and Just Wright Entertainment through a referral from our wedding…read morephotographer, and we could not be happier that we went with him. From our initial meeting at a Starbucks, Brian set very high standards for himself. Did we mention that our first meeting ended up going for two hours? It was amazing how comfortable we felt around him right off the bat. He was an incredibly laid back and fun person to talk to, and we just lost track of time. For my wife and I, it seemed like we were talking to someone we had known for years, not a DJ we just met. After that meeting, we were pretty much set. We had met with one DJ before, and had talked to a couple others on the phone, and no one even came close to how comfortable we felt with him. We had made our decision before we had even gotten back to our car. Later when we informed him he had won the job, he literally had a child-like glee and excitement that he'd get to help make our reception something special. When we had our music meeting, we were once again impressed with Brian. Again, it turned into a two hour meeting, which is hard to call a meeting considering how much fun we had with him (including his falling in love with a certain comfortable chair at our apartment). He was a very detail oriented person, wanting to make sure he got everything right; people's names and pronunciations, how each of our parents should be introduced and whether they were married or not, among many other things. He even brought up a few things that we had completely neglected to think about, and certainly saved our butts from some last minute panic. He was also very thorough about the music for the evening, obviously like you would hope for a DJ! He was very particular about trying to understand our musical tastes, which for my wife and I, were very different. I'm very much a country boy at heart, she is pretty much all music except country. His depth of knowledge of music was incredible, and whenever we needed suggestions for a song to use during a part of our reception, he always managed to pick out a few samples that hit just right and made it incredibly hard to pick just one! Again, he set some incredibly high standards for himself. When we got to the big day, Brian managed to outdo the standards he had set for himself. At the end of the night I literally didn't have the words to thank him. I had gotten so many compliments during our reception about how great the music was, and how much everyone loved the game we had played right before the dinner began (which was completely Brian's suggestion!) He made the night. He was very organized and kept the event going in the right direction the entire night. He honestly knew more about the schedule for the reception than I did! I honestly don't know if I could ever run out of good things to say about Brian Wright. I sincerely hope a few of our friends who are getting married soon pick him as their DJ so I can see him again. I cannot thank him enough for how memorable of an evening he made my wedding day. I want to have more parties just so I can hire him! How much do I believe in Brian Wright? At our reception, I picked up a stack of his business cards. I carry them in my wallet so that whenever anyone, anywhere, mentions that they need a DJ, I don't even have to think about looking up his information to give them, I can just hand them his card and tell them: "Just use this DJ. Don't think twice, don't ask questions. He will be better than you can even dream of."
