It's very dim inside while the light shines on the stage. Lowdown is fitting for a date. With a full bar sitting directly across from the stage, a friend of mine offered me a drink (I don't drink anymore) & when a bartender overheard that I don't drink, he offered Mood Brü. I wish I could remember the flavor, it was really good (I like all of the Mood Brü flavors). LowDown is downstairs from Duet, a spot you can grab a bite (the last time I had food there was for a New Year's Eve & it was good). A plus about LowDown is that a lot of acts out of Tulsa perform there. It's a good way to get familiar with the local scene. Still waiting for Yelp to let us include half stars -- so 3.5 stars for this venue!…read more I agree with another reviewer who referred to this as an upscale dive bar. The sound system was excellent (I'd suggest sitting farther back of intense noise is an issue for you). The band we saw was an 80s tribute band whose name I can't remember, but they were awesome. We didn't have any food, so I can't offer thoughts on that -- I will say that the non-beer selection of hard alcohol was super limited. I'm a bourbon person and I think there was Jack Daniel's and Maker's and that's about it. Not sure about other types of alcohol. For an entertainment spot, though, definitely 4 stars. I don't get that it was hotter inside the venue than out. It was so hot that 99% of the people who were there were discussing how crazy hot it was. This was before the band ever started. They said the air was on but added that the building was a gas station in the way back and doesn't have much insulation. They said it's always hot in the summer. Okay, mental note...don't buy tickets to go there when it's above 90-95 degrees. (It was 100 today.) Ceiling fans, box fans anything to move the air would have helped. We were not able to wait for the band to start because the closer it got to starting time the more crowded and hotter it got.
