Sound Cuts is a great little barber shop located near the back side of Flower Child restaurant. I just got my first cut from Kody. I'm fairly particular when it comes to haircuts, but he listened intently and took the time to ask questions before jumping in. He did a great job and delivered on everything I asked. After a few months of bouncing around to different barbers, I feel like I've finally found my new regular shop and barber. Thanks Kody! read more

Came for my first haircut and it was good. Booked my second cut a month out. Day of my appointment comes and I walk in to find out my barber no longer works there. No call from Sound Cuts prior to this, no nothing. No offer to schedule me with another barber just a "sorry dude you should contact them yourself" Edit: Business owner noted that "We've been managing all of his clients as they come in as well as the rest of our barbers' existing clients"... no you didn't. I was told "sorry, can't help you, you need to call Mario". read more

Danny helped me! I had long, wavy locks. Got sick of taking care of them, and wanted to be more employable, but was pretty anxious about the cut, because i thought my hair looked good. I gave Danny control, and didn't communicate as much as i should have before the cut. He made me look incredible, I was fortunate to put it in his hands. Absolutely killer fade/taper, just enough length on top -- and the whole time, I was questioning him. Super professional, knows what looks good on your head, and is good at calmly helping explain it. Danny, if you see this, sorry again for my doubt! read more

I hadn't cut my hair in almost a year and decided it was enough - it was time to get a haircut. I looked up reviews on Google and found Sound Cuts with everyone raving about Mario. I went in their looking like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons and left looking like Christian Bale. I'm not exaggerating when I say that he gave me the best haircut I've ever had - Mario is a professional. He's an awesome guy to talk to as well. Travel from Escondido to have my haircuts done exclusively at Sound Cuts. No matter what style you're looking for, Brandon and Mario are both highly skilled barbers that will get the cut done. I personally always allow Mario to "freestyle" my haircuts and have never been disappointed. Both are from the local area making them easy to relate with and talk to. The overall aesthetics of the shop sets up a great atmosphere to be apart of. It's a space you want to hangout in. Hands down the best barbershop in San Diego and would recommend them to anyone. The reviews speak for themselves, this really is a 5 star barber shop. I've been getting my hair cut by Mario for over a year now, started at CC barbershop in Esco and I don't mind driving 30 minutes just to have him freshen me up now. Location is awesome, Mario and Brandon just as awesome. Highly recommend these guys. read more

Mario is one of best barbers in north county. A true professional who shows passion with his work. He gives you his full attention and takes pride on what he does. Mario is cool & knows what's he's doing so I would ONLY recommend booking with him. The downside is the owner Brandon also cuts but won't have the time for you. The last couple of times I've been there, his chair was empty & asked him if he could cut my hair & he said he was booked when clearly he was just on his computer. I asked how to book with him & he said he's not taking new clients and hasn't taken a new client in 2 years & mentioned he only works 30 hrs & spends the rest with business development. I'm sure if I was a celebrity or had a bunch of followers he would find time. I guess I wasn't worth his time. I was taken back by this comments & actions. Super arrogant & rude. Is this a barbershop or not? read more

Thank you Rando for another first class experience; kind, considerate, and highly skilled. I strongly recommend Sound Cuts. Give em a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

After getting my hair cut for the first time by owner/operator Brandon 18 months ago, I knew I'd found my guy. Gone are the days of suffering through small talk with a random barber or stylist every time I visit a chain, because I'm now getting my hair cut by a professional who's dependable and always at the shop. Top quality cuts, high level vibes, and a great selection of product are exactly what you'll find at Sound Cuts. read more

We were looking for a new spot for my son as we have a hard time finding someone who knows how to cut curly hair. We scheduled an appointment with Brandon and were able to get in the next day. Brandon is very friendly and made my son feel very comfortable. He took his time to understand what it was my son was looking for and even gave suggestions as well. He did a great job and my son is very happy with his cut but when I received the bill I was shocked, $65 to use only clippers to trim up the sides and shape his hair is extreme. If there was more to his haircut I could possibly understand but there wasn't. That costs more than it does to cut my hair so I was definitely taken aback by that. Do I think his haircut was worth $65? Absolutely not. So the cost is definitely disappointing as we've never paid more than $50. I can't say we won't go back because my son did get what he wanted, and Brandon is a great guy, but I guess I should have checked the price first. Only reason for 4 stars is the price. read more

I walked in with my 2 sons (8 and 13) for fades. The guys here couldn't have been nicer. Very professional and hip. Super sweet to me (the mom) and I could tell all the other customers were regulars. Thanks Randolph and Javier! As soon as we left, my 13 year old said "wow- that was so cool". I mean...it was just a haircut. But still...a great experience. read more

I've got nothing but praise for Brandon and Mario! The two do amazing work. I went to a competing barber shop in the area and had a terrible experience but Brandon took care of me and fixed it. Really happy with my haircut. The shop is cool - good location and the guys are having a fun time.

This place is rad. After trusting other Yelp reviews and friends on Instagram, I decided to give Sound Cuts a try. Once I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. The vibe is exactly what you want from today's barber, and of course, most importantly, Brandon and Mario are skilled in their craft. Mario cut my hair and did an excellent job; he paid a lot of attention to detail before finishing. Both guys are super friendly and engaging; I'm stoked to have them in Del Mar. I'll definitely be back. read more
