Solana Barbers didn't disappoint last year and they didn't disappoint this year either. All the staff are Polite, Welcoming, and the Epitome of what customer service is supposed to be like. Steve is an Amazing Barber. He pays attention to detail and is very Friendly. I Highly Recommend this Barber. Lastly their pricing is very Good. read more

Horrible hair cuts and service is bad they tell kids to go suck yk what and are very disrespectful especially Kyle #Kyle

Obnoxious people. I regret inquiring about a haircut. Safe to say I won't do that again.

On vacation, what a great find. Great haircut. Meticulously styled and groomed. Understands how to cut an Asian man's hair.

Judy did a nice job. Walked in while on vacation. Straight forward place, able to do a low skin fade.

Juan is an awesome barber. He started out at Leucadia Barbershop and moved to Solana Barbers last year, and now runs the chair closest to the front window. Genuinely the best barber I've ever had. Top notch cut, takes his time and gets it right every time. It's not easy finding a truly great barber and when you do, you usually want to stick with them for years. Juan is that sort. Highly recommended. read more

Best skin fade I've ever gotten! Been coming here for about 8 months and Judy gives the best skin fade of all time! She's precise and meticulous and there's no other barber shop I'm going to from now on. Thanks again, Judy! read more

Steve the Barber in the back chair is terrific. Good listener. Meticulous. Raiders fan but, hey, nobody's perfect!

Great haircut! Making an appointment online was fast and efficient. And he did a great job cutting my hair.

I walk in to get a haircut, and Juan cut my hair. I haven't been back here since I moved to Nevada. He was very professional , friendly , and did a excellent job. Thank you JUAN . I will be back soon... read more

My husband went to get a beard trim and Mai cut him three times!!! The worse. Says she's been doing this for 22 years but really??? Do not recommend her. Then she still charges him! Let me just hack your throat and oh yea that will be $25 dollars please. Unbelievable. read more

I happened to be in the San Diego area for business and desperately needed a haircut, searching the web and I had a few hits closer to the hotel, but none took walk ins and were rude on the phone. Anyhow took a chance on Solana Barbers and have to admit it's the best cut I've had in a while, although they prefer appointments they were very accommodating, I had the pleasure of having Kieu (Q) cut my hair, she was extremely pleasant and professional, especially nice that she did a scissor cut and straight razor for the edges. Prices were good too. Keep in mind it's a cash only business, but we'll worth the time and money.I'll certainly be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Oh thank Buddha. I don't ever have to set foot in a SuperCuts again. I've been looking for a real barber shop for a while. Well. To be fair I haven't so much been "looking" as "hoping I would find". It's lazier, but similar. Anyway, I have found one. I've been in here twice for my new "close" look - #3 up top faded to #2 on the sides. The barber the first time was a bit chatty, but the second time when I arrived, there were probably 8 active cuts going on, and mercifully no one was talking. This is how you know you're in a man-friendly environment. Even though two of the barbers were women (I almost dinged a star for that), everyone knew that making small talk about the weather or about your stylist's no-good ex-husband who never really was very good with romance and always left dishes in th... oh my god, SuperCuts stylists SHUT UP! The cut was $20 ($16 plus tip) - a little pricey for a barber shop cut, but let's face it, these guys have to pay nearly-oceanfront rent. Most importantly - they shave the neckline. With that righteous hot lather and a nice, deadly straight-edge. Every cut comes complete with a few minutes of odd I-refuse-to-enjoy-this-too-much homoeroticism in the form of a 5 or 10 minute scalp and shoulder massage. It's truly striking to see this manly place with no talking and simple cuts and all the interior cues from the 60s you can shake a stick at ... and then one of the customers has his eyes closed as he enjoys a manhandling. But it does feel pretty good. Powerful hands kneading away my worries... There's a bit of street parking in front, and a big lot in the back. UPDATE (8/25/07): I've been here maybe 5 times so far, and twice now I've gotten chatty barbers who talk shit about their ex-wives and then about how now they're trying to choose which woman to stay with. If this becomes a regular thing, I'm gonna swipe a star away. read more

Was in need of a good barber after my hair was completely butchered at a Great Clips. Work right next to this place so I figured I would give it a fair shake. Best haircut I have ever gotten! It's an old school barber shop and these guys take their time. They know how to cut hair and do a great job giving you exactly what you're looking for. Only $20 for a mens haircut and they also offer straight razor shaves. It's cash only so plan accordingly. Places like this are a lost art and I would highly recommend checking them out. I think their customers are very loyal and come from miles around. I myself will be coming here for years to come. read more

I found my "new" favorite barbershop! I'm sort of old school and the simple fact is that I don't have much hair so a barbershop is best for me. I've tried Supercuts and other chain hair cutting places and you just can't beat the treatment (and price) of an old fashioned, traditional barbershop. It's conveniently located on a major road and there are places to eat nearby and literally walking distance to the beach. There was no problem finding a place to park right on the street right out front. I was lucky in that they were sort of slow so I didn't have to wait. I walked in and there was a barber just waiting for a customer. I told him the way I wanted my haircut and that was it. After sitting down in the chair and getting draped he went to work. The barber who worked on me was very gentle. He certainly took his time and was a bit of a perfectionist. After giving me a great cut, he did the traditional neck shave with a straight razor. You gotta love that! And when he was completely finished, he did a brief scalp and shoulder massage. I used to go to a barber near my office, but I've since moved my office down in this area. I had thought about making the drive back to where my previous barber was because I didn't want to try hunting around looking for a new place, but I saw this place and decided to give it a shot. And now I have my new favorite barber and will unquestionably be back. read more

I don't know much. But I do know when I'm in the presence of greatness. It's an amazing feeling. I played college baseball against Todd Helton. Felt it then. Had a front row seat during the early days of the UCB theatre. Saw Amy Poehler perform several nights a week. Felt it then. Also felt it last year when Wendy cut my hair. Went back again yesterday. Felt it again. She's special. One of those people who's just really good at what they do. Go to Solana Barbers. Ask for Wendy. Experience greatness. read more

Terrible, I asked them to trim my mullet and they cut a mow hawk. I ended up cutting it all off and it still looked bad. They had a dog running around on the counter. Would not recommend. read more

Nick was awesome. He really knows what he is doing. I got one of the best haircuts I've ever had in San Diego.

My favorite NoCo barbershop. I drive a half hour to go here every couple months. It is definitely an old school barbershop, which I like. Nice little shoulder and head rub at the end. Depending on who your barber is it will be 30 seconds weak or three minutes strong - delightful. Just another reason why a lot of customers sit and wait for their favorite barber. read more

Michael is the homie. Always gives me the freshest cuts. He is so good that I now despise getting haircuts elsewhere. Solana barbers 4 life!

Been getting my haircut from Nick for about 6 years now. He is a very good barber and takes his time. I'm always satisfied with my haircuts from Nick. His attention to detail is incomparable. Always lines up my hair and beard perfect together. read more

Not sure what the big deal is. The price is good - $16 for either haircut or a shave. Otherwise nothing else to rave about. The haircut was nothing fancy, scissors did not even come into play. My hair is short, but I guess I've never gotten a haircut like that before. The shave, was alright. Cheap cream, cheap aftershave, but the barber was very careful and took his time to the extent that I thought he was carving his name in my face. I do have very tough facial hair, so shaving me is not easy, but in the end I can get a closer shave myself with gillette razor. There were no cuts and no irritation afterward, so if your facial hair is softer this might work great for you. read more

Based on Lee F's review, I decided to visit this barber shop. My barber barely spoke English (that, or his accent was just very very thick), though he seemed to understand it just fine, and once I managed to communicate what I wanted, I got a great haircut at a cheap price. read more

Had my first haircut today at Solana Barbers. Having been looking for an affordable, quality haircut for men I think I've found my spot. The service was great, I was seated right away and the barber understood exactly what cut I was looking for. Professional and personable I enjoyed my experience and highly recommend getting cut here. Loved the straight razor neck and complimentary beard trim up I got. I feel like a million bucks. Definitely have found my go-to barbershop! read more

Great haircut from Mike, very interesting fellow, talked about world travels. He took his very professional time on the cut. Shave on the next and sideburns. $16 with a good tip. The shop is old school, leather chairs, hot shave cream, scalp massage, talc and brush to clean up. Nice beach breeze back to front, great mix of old and new on the play list. I was the only customer; I walked in just before 6 on a slow Monday. I'll go for the works next time, and only hold out the fifth star for that visit . read more

Old school barber shop that's been here forever. I won't tell you how long I've been coming here since I don't want to give away my age but whenever I'm in the area, it's my go too barber shop.
