Up until recently, I would have given WaFd Bank four stars, because even though their online…read morebanking platform was mediocre and their account options were somewhat limited, their customer service was very good and their Gold Money Market account offered a competitive interest rate. So what has changed for me? They just changed their online banking system to make it as difficult as possible for me to make extra principal payments on my mortgage. I can only do it on one day a month unless I want to have to go to the branch in person (who has time for that?) or fill out paperwork every month (again, who has time for that?). I am shocked and more than upset that they are making it so difficult to pay down my mortgage. Now I'm going to have to shop around to refinance my mortgage because I don't want to remain a customer of a company that has made my life more difficult than it needs to be. If they do the right thing and fix this situation ASAP, I will stay with them, but otherwise I'll be going through the huge inconvenience of having to look for a new bank.

He took the time to walk me through everything and explain the different types of accounts in a way that actually made sense. I didn't know much going in, but he broke it all down--checking, savings, and what would be the best place to start--without making it overwhelming. The whole experience felt really easy and comfortable, and you can tell he actually cares about helping people understand what they're doing instead of just rushing through it. We ended up hanging out later and talking more about it, and honestly it made me realize how helpful that first visit was. Figured I'd leave a review since it was a solid experience all around. I accidentally lost 200 $ withdrawel and the next ATM customer saw it, and brought it inside. I was in there less than 5 Min. later, receipt in hand, but they would not give me my money. Everyone at the food bank is very cheerful and helpful. They are not in the most accessible…read morelocation and you will usually have to wait for up to an hour, but they work very expediently and try to make everything go as smoothly as possible. They always have an amazing range of perishables, meats, dairy, bread and usually fruits and vegetables. Sometimes they will even have dog and cat food. Definitely a staple for the community!
