I came in today to get a tattoo with Stefan who was recommended by a trusted family member. I love how the shop is so open and has the coolest entertainment waiting area. Stefan was not just a true artist but he makes you feel welcome and relaxed. I love his laid-back personality and humor. He is very easy to work with and helped me with designing the perfect tattoo. Came here with my sister to get our first tattoos together. Parking in front of the building can be difficult, but I managed to find paved parking to the left of the building near the spa business. Score! Originally visited on Saturday, January 9, during their 5 year anniversary celebration. Told the person at the front counter what we wanted, but was told to set an appointment since they were busy. We put down a $50 deposit to lock in our appointment date. We were told to email our tattoo design idea. Appointment rolls around the following Monday. We got there 20 minutes early, which turned out to be perfect because Jaye and Bonez were still working on the designs. By the time we agreed on a final design and Bonez finished prepping his station, nearly an hour had passed. My tattoo took about 30-40 minutes to complete. Bonez did a great job telling me where he was starting and checking to see if I was okay. I was even handed a "stress ball" made out of saran wrap just in case I needed it. Ha! I liked the homey feel of Soulution and it was a pretty calm environment. I knocked one star off for the (what seems like) lack of documentation that showed my sister and I leaving a $50 deposit. I also realized that we probably did not get the 20% off deal that came with booking an appointment on their anniversary date. Boo! :( Overall, great experience! The artist I usually go to unfortunately moved far away so I had been researching new artists who I could trust. I found this place thru an old colleague who had some work done with them years ago. I had a small arm tattoo done by Jaye about a month ago. He was quick to respond to my consultation request, walked me through options and what the process would entail, and I was lucky enough that he had a cancellation and was able to fit me in the next day after my consultation. Upon my arrival, he had taken my jumbled wishlist we had chatted about and turned it into a beautiful design. Jaye does great tribal work and I even recommended my aunt to him who ended up getting her tribal here . As for me? I did not have a very good experience with him whatsoever . I made an appointment with him to ge a cover up . He didn't bother sketching anything for me before hand and when I went in for my appointment , he ended up just free handing on me because we found out the day of my appointment , there was no way for him to fit what I wanted over what I needed covered up . In short , he got lazy and just covered up my previous tattoo with a black bar of ink with tribal underneath . It looks horrible ! I didn't even ask for tribal . Whenever people see what he did on me , they always question wtf it is . I don't even know what to say because I never even wanted this piece in the first place . Their customer service is horrible . My boyfriend who accompanied me at the time was extremely disappointed in the way they were treating me and felt that they were being disrespectful . I went to see a different artist today to see if I could get what Jaye tattooed on me covered up. When this artist saw Jayes work , he too was extremely disappointed and questioned why Jaye decided to be lazy with my cover up . Learned about this place through someone on my Instagram and decided to look up the place and the artists artwork and I was impressed! After looking around at other places and deciding where I should get my first tattoo, I ended up always coming back to this place. Liked the artists artwork here and it's decently priced. Location is next to Kings Skate and a elementary school. It's a bit hard to find parking, but if you go through the entrance next to the elementary school, there are a couple of parking spots on that side. Totally loved the vibe in there! It was very cozy and the staff there was friendly and you can feel that they are like one big family. Prior to getting my tattoo, I was terrified! But after seeing how friendly everyone was, I was more at ease. My sister and I have been wanting a tattoo for a while and decided to get our first tattoos together and it went really well! We stopped by the shop on a Saturday to make a deposit and make an appointment for the following Monday. We had an appointment at 5pm, but we decided to show up early in case. Turns out it was good that we arrived early because they were creating our designs and that process took a while. I believe our tattoo session didn't start until around 5:45pm-6pm. Soulution Ink recently got a new tattoo artist, Bonez and my sister and I got inked by him! He's a very laid back, chill person and I loved hearing his stories. He made sure we liked our designs before stenciling it out. He also made sure the spelling and everything was correct and we were satisfied before he started going over it with ink. This tattoo shop is located by the King's Skate on Franklin Blvd in Elk Grove so it's pretty far in the boonies. I had an appointment at 12 PM today with Ralph and didn't actually talk to him until about 12:40. No one explained why I had to wait, all I was told was "it'd be a minute". The woman at the desk who I'm assuming was the shop manager asked if my friend and I were hungry because there was a little shop down the street. Clearly that's a sign that either they weren't expecting me even though I actually went into the shop 2 weeks earlier and made a deposit or Ralph was doing something who knows what. Needless to say I wasn't happy because I was already a ball of nerves going into the appointment, but these people are putting something permanent on me so acting like a diva was out of the question. My grandma passed away about 2 months ago so I knew for my next tattoo I'd be getting her name in Chinese down my spine. Ralph did a great job and I'm really happy with it. I was worried at first because he thought it might taken an hour and a half but he finished within the hour. I thought maybe he was rushing my tattoo but nope. It looks wonderful. He's a really cool guy, very professional, and easy to talk to. I have an idea for my next tattoo and I'll probably come back to Soulution Ink because I think their prices are reasonable. I have a tattoo on my arm with 3 Chinese characters that cost $120 at a different tattoo shop and the tattoo I got at Soulution has 4 Chinese characters that cost $100! These guys are really cool. Very good vibes and inviting. They have a lot of business, my appointment was about a month out. So make an appointment early. The shop is chill with music and the guys engage in conversation. Your down payment for the appointment goes towards your tattoo and the tattoos are not expensive, very reasonable. All these guys are very good artist and have plenty of work to view. I'm going back for another tattoo and now my wife is going to get a tattoo from Soulutions. One thing I would change for marketing and ease of viewing art work, hire someone to improve the website and update it. Of course this has no bearing on their talent and ability to do great work. I had come across this studio via some poly tattoo artists I follow. I had some pieces lined up and decided to get an add-on to an existing piece and saw the beautiful work they do. I first reached out to the studio via an email and was responded to right away by Victoria. We talked about what I was looking to get and after we talked for a bit she referred me to Stefan. She told me he didn't have anything until May, which is to be expected when you come across a talented artist, but I told her that I was heading to Hawaii around then and if he had any openings for a smaller piece. A few days to a week went by and i received a call from Victoria saying that Stefan had a cancellation and if I was available the following week. Yes! On the day of my session I arrived and Stefan greeted me straight ohana style and I was immediately comfortable. He took the time to hear a bit of my back story and what I was interested in getting. This guy is super talented and has a good "chair-side manner". He sketch right on me and made sure I approved before inking. It was just yesterday that I went in to see Stefan and I really, really love what he did. Came here for my first tattoo. I had been doing research on artists for a while before coming in and during that I came across Mauricio on Instagram. I was looking for a black and grey artist that was good at realism. I couldn't have had a better experience! I didn't know what to expect since it was my first one but Mauricio had a good attitude and even expressed how excited he was to work on mine. That made me feel comfortable. The shop was a little sketchy on the outside when you pull up but inside it's clean and I saw every artist there at the time take care of their work area and sanitize before and after every customer.
