My husband got a crazy tattoo when he was just 14 or 15. As he grew older, he realized he couldn't stand looking at that tattoo anymore. Lol and he has nice arms but he'll always keep them covered because of that damn tat. So, he decided it was time to get a cover-up. When you get a bad tat you realize how important it is to choose the right artist for the job. A good artist can turn a mistake into something beautiful. I started looking for tattoo shops for his cover-up While researching, I found Elk Grove Tattoos. Edger, the artist there, really impressed me right away with his work, I can admit lol I stalked his page for about a week watching all his dope work. I finally reached out to him and explained my husband janky tat. Edger mentioned he liked our last name so he threw some ideas out about peacocks. What he didn't know was ... he already gained my trust because I've seen his work so I set the date and he did his thang. The tattoo came out amazing it had a lot of detail my husband absolutely loves it, and the best part is that you would never guess it was a cover-up. Not every tattoo artist is comfortable doing cover-ups or working over someone else's designs, but Edger handled it perfectly, and I'm really glad I chose him for this project. Now that I've shared the backstory about the tattoo, I want to talk about something else that is very important to me--which is cleanliness of the shop. I use to be a first responder so this is deff a stickler for me, their space is very clean and well-organized, which makes me feel comfortable right away. The vibe of the shop is very family-oriented, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. The artists act professionally, and their positive energy creates a great atmosphere. I also took some time to check out other artists in the shop work on IG because I follow their Instagram page, and I was very impressed by their work as well. Each artist has a unique style, and honestly, you can't go wrong with anyone you choose. I like that , that's important to Edger to not just have artists but to have great artist. They all have amazing skills and a passion for what they do, which makes the whole experience even better. I truly believe that you will be happy with any artist at this shop; it's a place where quality and care come together beautifully. Recently, my husband just doubled back to get a touch-up on a tattoo he got from a different artist. As always Edgar, did his thang. Once my husband removed the plastic and it properly heals, I'll share an updated picture. His plan is to eventually create a full sleeve tattoo, so we wanted to start with the touch-ups first before adding more designs. It's exciting to see how everything will come together in the end! This tattoo also helped me cover an old scar on my arm with something I could finally admire. Stephan was professional, focused, and friendly. His attention to detail is impressive, and he made sure I felt comfortable throughout the process. His work area was clean, well-organized, and properly sanitized, which gave me peace of mind. Not only is Stephan a talented tattoo artist, but he also draws and paints--his personal artwork is displayed throughout the shop, and you can feel the creativity in every corner. It's clear he's passionate about all forms of art. The shop, located off Hood Franklin Road, has a relaxed and creative vibe. Everyone is so warm and fun. It makes the whole experience a lot smoother and more enjoyable. They worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted and were patient as I picked a size for my tattoo. There are a few comfortable chairs in the waiting area. The whole building isn't giant but it was very cozy and clean inside. There's cute pictures all over the walls of the team and other things.
