This review is for Liz R., who has done all of my tattoos, plus the one she corrected color and lines on that was not hers originally. She is an incredibly talented artist, and I can't recommend her highly enough. Two of my tattoos are originals she had posted as up for grabs online, but all the others are my little dreams she made into reality. She's also so sweet and fun to talk to, with excellent taste in so many things, down to Dateline hosts. On my most recent visit, I hit another *fun* milestone in my tattoo journey, getting a coverup (F U Joanne). Rolling my eyes at my past self, it was a rather emotional one. I just felt sad, silly, embarrassed, and was also getting what for me, is a memento mori, and very important to me on a personal level. Liz reassured me that it would be okay, and made me feel better just by being herself. Great energy for an anxious person like me to be around. I'm not always a baby during a session, only sometimes. Anyhoo, check out the pix if you're curious how that turned out. Great, obvi. Always great. I feel more beautiful every time I have a fresh piece done. I think this is the second? tattoo I've gotten at this location now, but it might be the third... Maybe two and one touch up? I LOVE colors, especially what Liz can do with them (my gyarados tattoo has something like 20 colors in it), so my appointments tend to be longer. I prefer them in one go, though as I get older I wonder if that's wise to keep doing. I'm so ready to tap out at hour three. I've for sure gotten studious snake in marigolds and wyvern in peonies, both on my back, at Forever Tattoo. The vibes work for me. I like the other artists and customers I've spoken to, and the nice, big bathroom that has plenty of room to change if needed. On my most recent visit, one of the other artists kept asking fun table topics type questions, which I suspect was a way to distract as well as a fun conversation to pass the time. It's a very comfortable place imo. Be aware they are cash only and the ATM available maxes out at $200. I have forgotten about this in the past because I am a mess, and needed to make a little errand before returning! They do take walk ins, if someone happens to be available. If that's not an option, you can book right at the front if you want. If you've never gotten a tattoo before I recommend booking a consultation in person. read more

It's not very often that you find a tattoo shop where every artist in there is incredible, but here we are. I've had 3 sessions now on a large coverup with Ian and I've enjoyed every bit of it. And now that it's been a couple years, I can say they have both held up well. I have a bunch of other tattoos at this point (I'm no longer local) but these have healed the best out of them. I walked in to Forever Tattoo in early May 2022. I talked to a receptionist and a guy named Nate. I made an appointment for two small tattoos at the end of the month, and Nate gave me his card. He asked me to email him the images one week before our appointment. A week ago, I did so, reiterating our appointment time. Now I'm sitting in their lobby, on time for our appointment, and the samereceptionist says, "Nate? I guess he's coming in sometime." REALLY? Meanwhile some other dude is chatting up a friend and there are absolutely no other customers but no one seems to want my business. No one seems to know if Nate is even working today. Fine. I went to get a very small tattoo covered up (inside the ear)and a new small tattoo on my neck/behind the ear. Omgosh Ive been on the search for an artist for awhile now and a good friend recommended Mischa. Number one- he's honest, if it won't look good on the long run he'll tell you. He will work with you but will tell you if it's good or bad. Number two- he's kind and will try to make you comfortable as you can be. I did have to get some numbing spray put on and he let me tear one of the pillows apart to help with the pain. In the end I got what I wanted. The pokeball had more detail in it then I though you could pack into such a small place and the gecko is just plain awesome. I highly recommend seeing Misha. read more

I never got a tattoo here. But I will. I came in to make an appointment and out of the hundred tattoo shops I've been to, and in comparison with any tattoo shop in Sacramento, my experience there for those five minutes was the best I ever had. They were welcoming and they were nice. They acted like they actually wanted to be there. They acted like they actually cared. They smiled and conversation did. I didn't feel any judgment, I didn't feel any stairs. Due to my schedule I was unable to make an appointment at that very time, but I will definitely do so as soon as I can figure it out. If you're reading this, to the people at the shop, please keep this up. You will stand out from any other shop in Sacramento I promise. I'm not sure how many artists you have coming in and out of there, but they should be all held to the same standard that you portrayed earlier this week when I showed up. I literally never felt good about a tattoo shop and my entire 31 years of life. I promise you if you keep this up, other people will take notice. This was my first time getting work done here (I'm also fairly new to tattoos). I absolutely loved my experience. From the front desk to the artist, everyone was friendly and respectful. I came in as a walk-in, and Tim kindly accepted me after his appointment. I had a very simple tattoo, but Tim was very good at making sure I was happy with the sizing. He was happy to adjust it to my liking. While tattooing he was great at conversing, keeping me engaged, which helped distract me from the pain (which wasn't bad either!). Tim was very detailed and did amazing on the thin lettering. He even offered to take a picture for me after he finished! The environment was incredibly clean and organized. In June 2016, I got a tattoo here by Tim, as he was recommended by a friend. He did not disappoint! I wanted something that was mostly black and gray with a small amount of color. I had an idea of what I wanted, but allowed him some creative freedom with it. I think when the artist gets to add their own personal touches it just turns out better. Got tattooed by Kyle Lent. So far he has done two pieces on me and they are amazing! Very clean shop. Great atmosphere. He was very professional! I spoke to a woman last night regarding a tattoo I wanted . She quoted me a price and felt it could be done within their minimum price range . She did not mention they only took cash . When I got there this morning just after they opened I found out that one third of my tattoo was going to cost the minimum of $80 and that was if it was only in Black . My artist, Tim, was very friendly, gave great advice, and created a design just like I had imagined when I told him what I wanted. Ok so I never write reviews on yelp, but I felt overwhelmingly compelled to do so after my day today at Forever Tattoo. I was told to come by this shop by a friend who has had work done here. When I walked in the sweetest girl was working the desk, I forget her name (I'm sorry) but she greeted me with a smile and helped me as best she could (she was new). Timpac came up to me right away, I told him I was looking for someone to start a sleeve for me on Wednesday if they could (today is Sunday). He gave me a time available and the artist's portfolio to check out. I was bummed that guy wasn't there because I did want to talk to the artist before making a deposit. Well Tim came back to let me know he had an appointment available that night and boy was I glad he did. Timpac treated me great from the moment I walked through the doors till the time I left. He worked with my ideas, incorporating some of his own to help me with what would look best but still staying true to what I wanted. Didn't mind adjusting some sizes and position in the least bit. Just an awesome guy. I am beyond satisfied with the end result, I can't wait for it to heal and I can't wait to come back and get some more work done by Timpac! Looking around town for a tattoo shop reveals lots of complaints about 1) customer service and 2) quality. While I didn't end up getting a tattoo at Forever this round, I did leave with a very strong impression of their customer service. Here's my story... Having seen Eiland's work online, I was impressed and wanted a chat with the artist himself before taking any further steps. I arrived on a Saturday night to find the establishment packed. Someone greeted me at the front desk; I explained my intent and was shortly given the opportunity to speak with Eiland, who happened to finish his current piece around the time of my arrival. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the eclectic playlist on the stereo system and admired the art on the walls. As I made my inquiries, Eiland was helpful, informative and engaged. Not only did he answer my questions, give his insight, share a book of images he thought might work with the ideas I had, but he also took the time to draw up a rough sketch of what he was envisioning. Really. Like, can you ask for much more? He only stopped short of giving me a tattoo! While I ended up finding an artist elsewhere who shared my vision of my tattoo a little more, I would not hesitate to return to Forever Tattoo for future work. read more

I showed up on a Saturday and was surprised I could book an appt the same day! Came back later in the afternoon so it gave me some mental prep time..lol. I had an idea and Eiland sketched out exactly what I wanted! Ok...it does hurt..lol but Eiland talked to me thru the entire tattoo and kept me so relaxed and calm.
