I don't feel at all comfortable dancing with any other person other than my boyfriend. Plus, there was this one guy who I danced with who talked about how he's been going for awhile & knows everything, but he wasn't doing some stuff correctly & he was very forceful which kinda scared me. I was so not wanting to dance with him when I had to dance with him during the several times of switching partners. :(

We first joined SFDS when my daughter was two years old because we lived in the neighborhood and she wanted to wear a tutu. Fast forward and she is a dedicated dancer with SFDS. Her love of dance and dedication to ballet is due to the dedication, passion and skill of the business owner, Laura and her team. My daughter has landed roles in city-wide dance performances with the education she has had at SFDS. At the end of every year, like most practices, SFDS puts on a performance. This performance is above and beyond anything you wold imagine. I am talking the real deal - the costumes, the props, the whole performance is next level. I also want to add that Ms. Laura (the business owner) is a gem. She is a true teacher in the sense that she is vested in all of the children who attend her program. Recently, SFDS was forced to pivot their approach from in-person sessions to telepractice (due to COVID-19). Almost immediately, classes continued online - they have been excellent and during this crazy time its been something stable in my daughter's life. Thank you SFDS for providing a caring, challenging and fun space for the dancers!

So far we've learned the basics of Swing, Bachata, and Night Club 2 Step. David Blood, the instructor is patient and excellent, and his volunteer helpers are fantastic (thanks!). We looked him up on ratemyprofessor and he gets the fire logo which means he's a "hot" professor :-). Congats, David, on being so smooth! The class size started out pretty full, but if you stick it out for a few weeks, it gets down to about 20 people. It is pretty even between men and women, and you dance with everyone. The only pain point is the slightly annoying process of having to fill out a college application to get in. But the price and instruction are awesome, so it is well worth it! Highly recommend.

I occasionally drop by Vibo Music School since I'm a former student…read more First things first, if you've ever been Vibo any time before 2018, you should know they moved to the location they are currently at and it's absolutely gorgeous. Although the first location on Paris was a second home for me, visiting their Ocean location still managed to give me comfortable, welcoming vibes and that's mainly because the staff and teachers are still as kind and excited about music education as they were back when I was a student! No matter when I drop in, I can trust that there is going to be a credible, talented teacher giving feedback to their student's family. From all the times I've visited, I've never seen a student walk out of their lesson unhappy. Students, most of the time, give their teacher a cheery goodbye and it feels like the school has only improved from when I was also a Vibo Music student. My sibling used to take lessons at Vibo but recently stopped to pursue other hobbies. During their time at Vibo, they improved so, so, so much and even used the skills they acquired to self-learn songs they were interested in. While I would wait for them during their lessons, I would also hear other students practicing during their lessons, and because I was there once a week, I heard other students improve as well. It's just an amazing feeling knowing that Vibo is always encouraging musical growth and exploration. If you have younger children who show interest in learning about music, Vibo Music's teachers truly excel in working with not only young children, but people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. Additionally, she teaches not just the choreography, but also the meaning behind the dances. Through her Flamenco Theory class, I learned more in 10 weeks about Flamenco than I have in over 10 years. I highly recommend Mizuho, and believe she is one of the best Flamenco teachers in the Bay Area.

Each student has a portable square platform to dance on. There were ~ 13 students so it's not crowded at all. I was able to see and hear her so clearly. She is experienced (to explain body mechanics in addition to technique), patient, and funny. I have a lot of fun. There won't be a class on 8/30/14 because of Labor Day. Last day to add full-term credit classes in-person & on WEB4 is 9/5/14. Next class is 9/6/14. We need more students in the class to keep the class. $46/1 unit class a semester is more affordable than studio at $15-$20/class. Students can take this for pass/not pass instead of a grade. Also, Kathe has a bag of pretty clean looking tap shoes from people who gave her, left unclaimed for students to use. She is as accomodating as a nice teacher can be. Jay in maintence is the hardest working person I have ever met, so kind and helpful. He hustles to keep the broken and malfunctioning equipment and wet area working and is much appreciate by us members. Lana has been extremely helpful as well. The renovations were extremely lackluster. Members were misled or outright lied to about what changes would be made to the gym and wet area. Construction, including jackhammering is still going on, we were told the project would take less than a month. I have videos of the noise reverberating through the wet area and breaking decibel levels for construction codes for San Francisco. The wet area is neglected to a dangerous and unhealthy level still. They claimed they "deep cleaned" it. The disabled lift for the pool and jacuzzi have bed been busted and malfunctioning or completely useless since I started there almost a year ago. They were to be replaced and were not! I have gotten stuck in the pool several times while it glitched. Once recently it broke completely. Thankfully my husband was there, and went and asked for Jay who managed to get it functioning and get me out. I wrote corporate, no answer. The entire building is not up to ADA gym codes and standards. There are loose railing, slippery dirty stairs and railings, mold growing from the spitters who can't follow basic hygiene rules even with a sign right where they usually spit under the lift chair. Then they fling water everywhere after spitting or snorting, and my wheelchair will not drive through the puddles. It is incredible dangerous. The locker room has no disabled lockers, and the one shower stall is not up to code for wheelchair users. None of the doors are up to code and have damaged my wheelchair several times. They refused to fix the broken women's locker room disabled stall's loose then broken toilet seat from September 2025 when I was first injured on it until May 2026 during the renovations. I was moderately injured the 5th time it slipped and one side fell into the toilet and I slipped off into the wall. There are uncovered screws sticking out of the wall connected to the stall next to it that have also cut me twice, and damaged my backpack. Do better, please! Communication there is dismal. No warning or planned closures, changes to schedules, etc. Yesterday the swim school was there when they are not on the schedule. Photos attached. In the summer we can barely use the pool. They have also showed up unannounced when the Potrero locations pool was closed, and allowed to hold classes without authorization displacing members. The worst part is upset members who try to swim in the lanes for the school or refuse to get out of the pool during swim class time, and they often scare the children or harass the swim school employees who are just doing their jobs! This happened yesterday, a man with flippers soaked a young child and the instructor by coming in their lane and splashing them intentionally. That area is chaos incarnate with no semblance of gym or pool etiquette.

Over the past 2 weeks on different days: - out of soap in…read morethe bathroom - out of sanitizer and spray disinfectant at all cleaning stations - out of paper towels at all cleaning stations - urine all over the floor in the men's bathrooms almost everyday In a place where patrons work hard and sweat alot, it is ridiculous that cleaning/disinfectant supplies run out. Cleanliness, health, and sanitation should be at the utmost priority at all times. Whether it's a cost-savings tactic and/or poor supply management, this shouldn't be the case at all public establishments especially gyms. And other 24hour fitness gyms don't seem to have the same issue. Obviously once in a while, one thing may run out but the high frequency of occurrences and the amount of different items running out is saddening.
