They offer a free week of training to anyone regardless of experience, both of which is rare; it's rare for that length of time and it's only offered to new people. On top of that, the Open Mats on Saturday are free to all. An interesting quirk here is that the classes aren't divided into Gi/No-Gi classes. Miguel's approach is that everyone should be proficient in both so there's a weekly rotation between Gi and No-Gi which goes towards being well-rounded. I usually stick with Gi classes but by coming here I couldn't 'hide out' in my pajamas. What's more I know for a fact that Professor Miguel has always been willing to help out his students life situation he'll find a way to keep his students training.

I've never been to Rico's Muay Thai class, but I hear great things about it from the people who attend. There's a family vibe at 10PGTX. Lots of positivity. You can get as competitive as you want here, but you won't find people trying to hurt each other. I came here with zero grappling experience, and can honestly say that this is the best thing I've done for my health as an adult (mental and physical). I've lost 30 lbs in a year. The only change I made over that year was starting classes at 10PGTX. No diet changes, no additional exercise. The only regret I have is not starting this sport sooner! Try it. Unsafe training, bad mats, and poor environment I walked in fine and left injured…read more I decided to try out this gym because it's close to my house. From the moment I first walked in to ask about a free trial, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable everyone looked at me like I was some kind of intruder instead of a potential new student. No one greeted me or tried to make me feel welcome. That should've been the first red flag. During training, things went from awkward to dangerous. Someone decided to pull on my heel extremely hard not even applying a proper inside heel hook or any legitimate control and I felt a pop in my knee. I immediately knew something was wrong. That one careless move left me with internal damage in my left knee. I can barely move it now and can't afford the medical costs to fix it. It's been painful physically and mentally because I came here just to learn and have a good experience. On top of that, the mats were terrible. They had almost no grip super slippery even when dry. It's the kind of surface where you can slide around during drilling or sparring, which makes it way easier to get hurt. A gym that takes safety seriously would invest in proper mats like Fuji or Zebra mats, not the cheap ones that feel like plastic flooring. I'm not posting this out of anger I just want to give people an honest warning. The environment here doesn't feel controlled, and safety clearly isn't a priority. If you're looking for a competitive but respectful place to train, I strongly suggest going somewhere else. I train at Kingsway, and it's a night and day difference still very intense and competitive, but everything is structured, the mats are safe, and people actually look out for each other. That's how a real gym should operate.
