If you have back issues you seriously need to start your Yoga journey and this place is where to start. Lisa the owner is an amazing teacher and such a kind soul. All of the instructors have been fantastic and care deeply about what they do. Karma offers a variety of classes, both heated and air conditioned. In the past year I've tried just about every type of class they offer and I've found what works for me. From relaxing and meditative, to high intensity, they have a class for you. They have 2 class studios. The larger room is mostly used for heated classes. It's a large space with 2 mirrored walls which is great for self corrections and being able to see the instructor no matter where you are in the room. I've never felt cramped in the large room, it's so big!! The 2nd room is much smaller and is air conditioned. This room can get a bit crowded at times but usually it's plenty of space. They have yoga mats you can use if you need, plus all the props you could possibly want or need during your practice. They also sell some really nice yoga mats and athletic clothes in the main entrance area. The only thing I would change if I could is I wish the men's shower/locker room was a bit less cramped. Not much they can do about this though due to the location. Really only 3 people can be in the men's room at a time due to the size of the space. There are 2 showers and some small cubicles for storing your bag and one chair. I cannot comment on the woman room area, but I believe it's a bit larger. Bottom line: If you are looking for a place to try yoga or a seasoned "Yogie" give this place a try!

Not bad considering if I didn't like it, I only spent $20! (One class I believe is $13 or so). I was able to register for class online. On their website, they list all of the classes that are available and you are able to register for all of them online. Their classes range from 5:45 in the morning until 6:15 in the evening. There are many options for everyone. They also offer many different types of classes and when I went this morning, there were two going on at the same time. So, you have options, which is a plus! When you first walk in here, it is nice and spacious. You can see where you can put your shoes otherwise, there is a bathroom with cubbies where you can also put your things. They have yoga stuff on one of the walls that you can purchase. It is very clean and really, it's a calming atmosphere. The ladies that checked me in are super nice too. They made me feel really welcome even though I haven't done yoga in probably 2 years. The hot yoga class that I signed up for is pretty similar to others I have tried. The people in the class with me varied in skill and ability, which was nice. I didn't feel so bad. The instructor was also very helpful and made it possible for us to get what we needed out of the class. Another positive about Karma Yoga is that the hot yoga room, when you first walk in, smells like lavender! It took me by surprise since many hot yoga rooms do not smell particularly good at all! Right away, you are put into a calm mood. In all, I really loved my experience today and I honestly feel that I will extend my membership to longer than two weeks once my two weeks are up!

The first visit was free. I am hesitant about yoga because I am an on-the-go type person and I enjoy my workouts to be fast, competitive or heavy weight lifting. Slowing down and breathing was just something I couldn't find the time for. But, I know I need that. I'm glad I went. Crystal is a great instructor and assisted me get into the proper form. I never felt like I didn't belong or an outsider. Every yoga attendee had varying capabilities. The hot yoga was wonderful! Because of the heat I was able to really sweat and have relaxed muscles to get a more deep stretch. I felt tired, detoxified and I had a very challenging workout! I went back for a 60 minute hot yoga session that week. My body is sore and grateful for the new physical and mental challenge. I bought the special $30 for 30 days for new students. There are mats available to borrow, lockers, bathrooms and showers Tip: bring water and a towel!

Parking is usually a challenge in this area so I'd recommend going a little earlier to secure a spot. You'll use a short walkway, up five stairs (there's a lift, if needed) and you're in the studio; the door is visible from 39th St. You'll sense the peacefulness as soon as you enter and take your shoes off. The class was 'Yoga for Rookies', it's currently held Wednesdays and Saturday's (I'm not sure if their schedule changes so go to the website, you can book there anyway). The instructor explained everything as he went, encouraged everyone to do what was best for them and was overall welcoming. The studio supplied everything needed for the class; such as mats, blocks, blankets and straps. There was also a mediation/self-reflecting aspect to his instruction. I felt their instruction, along with the serene environment, really echoed their commitment to mind, body and spirit. I'm already planning my return.

I found hot yoga several years ago when I was in Vegas and found it very helpful. Fast forward several years and not enough stretching later, I needed a new pathway and OTY is exactly what I needed. The staff here is AMAZING!! I can't say that enough. They really give you a sense of belonging while you're there and there is never any judgement. Everyone that goes there is on a different level and they do a great job meeting everyone at that level. Bernie is great at pushing you just enough to ease you through your comfort zone. The studio was inviting and friendly. I opted to sign up for Return to Beauty on Thursday nights. The class was smaller and intimate. Dianne is very knowledgeable about the chakras and assigned thoughtful and beneficial assignments. By the end of the course , I felt really connected with the group. I hope to take another course there soon.

I thought I was going to fall off the bike and die the first time, but I didn't by the end of the class I was sold! I love love love Whitney's class! My friends and I did Chaeli's sculpt class (or I believe that's what it's called) and loved it. We were sweating our butts off, which who doesn't love a good sweat?! It was a combination of yoga poses, little bursts of cardio and strength training. Due to covid, the yoga studio isn't renting out Yoga matts and weights. I would recommend bringing a matt and 5lb weights for this class if you'd like. Otherwise my friends and I did it without a matt and weights and did just fine! Ps - if you don't have a yoga matt and your worried about the floor being hard, don't fret, the floors squishy! We signed up for our first free class through the mindbody app and it was one of the easiest processes I have ever done. The ladies at the location weren't super pushy about signing up for a paid membership and were extremely kind and chill. I'll definitely be back for another class!

At the end of the 60 minute class we gathered on our folded blankets in a circle and shared our thoughts with tea, apple slices and almonds. The group was again kind and welcoming. I like how they're often burning incense before class. It really sets the mood. I've never had to use the showers but the areas of the locker room I have accessed is always tidy and neat. This is also the biggest locker room of the 3 I've been to, which is nice when everyone is getting their stuff at the same time. Both studios are a decent size. They can fill up but the instructors are good about encouraging staggering. I also like how the rooms and windows, so you don't feel fully closed off from the outside world. But don't worry! They have blinds so you don't feel like you're on display. While the parking has not been ideal with all the construction, they do their best alert us with changes. And now with that big garage across the street, it's been so much easier! All the instructors I've had are great and very inclusive to all, no matter your experience level, gender, age, etc.
