I called ahead to make sure the shop was open, and that I wouldn't be interrupting an appointment and was told by the owner Sienna to come down and she'd help me with the gift. The shop is beautiful from bottom to top. Lots of plants and you immediately feel welcome. Metaphysical practices, reiki, stones, readings, these are all interesting things to me but by no means something I have a knowledge of. Sienna was incredible accommodating and helpful putting together a perfect group of stones and crystals for my wife's friend and even throwing in some free incense and other items. All of this is great, but it was what happened at checking out that really made me want to write a review and hope it helps her business, especially since I don't really use yelp much anymore, I'd rather only write positive reviews for great experiences than anything else. At checkout I noticed a plant I used to have. Sort of a creeping vine leafed plant. My toddler poured a ton of juice in it and unfortunately it died. Without even saying anything else after identifying it for me which I have already unfortunately forgot, but I'll make a point to look it up through a photo later, she cut a clipping and gifted it to me in a small glass with water completely free of charge. This was a small gesture, but it meant a lot. The plant that I previously had that died was my mothers, who was killed 6 years ago now. So even though she was unaware of that, the gesture was very meaningful to me. If I ever need anything from this shop, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here, or refer a friend in need. Everything's really well organized and displayed, with many beautifully produced and packaged house-branded products. They sell everything witchy and spiritual: from candles & incense, oils & tinctures, bells & bowls, crystals & herbs, spell kits, ritual implements, to clothing, books, gifts, knick knacks, and there's even a kids zone with toys and things for younger ones. Since I read tarot, I was glad to find and bought a children's book introducing the major arcana, and also scored a gorgeous jacket. Love the sage bar and the magick bar where you can have custom creations made according to your intention. There isn't a large section of books and tarot cards, but a decent curation. If you're looking for more obscure and occult texts you won't find them here. Overall the vibe leans more commercial and mainstream, trending toward earthy pagan/Wiccan and a Goop-friendly target market than the dark theosophy of the Crowley/LaVey crowd, with a hyper brand awareness and marketing brilliance. But hey, how often do you see such a glossy and professionally run metaphysical business operated by genuine magickal people? I'm happy to see their expansive success. You can't make a business selling to the lone mage pouring over his Ars Goetia or whatever (that kind of conjuring is for the likes of Jeff Bezos and Mick Jagger). LightClub is also very community centered and hosts MANY workshops, classes, readings, lectures, and events every month, which they post on their website.
