Preet and Tera jewelers has to be the worst experience that I had out of all of the wedding shopping and vendors that we used. Karan was extremely unprofessional and gave us a lot of attitude. My fiancé and I had discussed what kind of rings that I wanted and he took a photo and showed it to Karan. He did not offer my fiancé any advice on the ring setting at all. He said he made the ring according to the pictures which it didn't even look like and gave no insight into what choosing the finish and setting would mean long term. I wanted a matte gold finish which he did not advise my Fiancé would scratch very easily (within less than a week of wearing) and he ended up giving us a very very high setting for the diamond which made it very easy to get caught on things. We went back to him to get it fixed, and again the ring did not look the way that we wanted, and when we were discussing the changes to be made, he told us that he really did not need our business because God gave him enough and he could give me attitude (I jokingly said we had beef) because he grew up with "kalay" in queens. Overall extremely disrespectful, horrible experience and I would not recommend this to anybody. Additionally he didn't get the work done in the time he shared the 1st and 2nd time. I had a great experience coming to this store. I have recently been looking for jewelry to purchase for my photography portfolio, and I found out that this store has recently opened in the last year. The manager, Karan, showed me to a great selection of jewelry, and I was even able to snap a few test photos using my macro lens! He also gave me a crash course on jewelry and helped me picked out a few rings and necklaces that best suited my budget. Beware of landlady. We went to Preet Jewelers due to good ratings. They were not able to do the resizing and repairs we needed so they helpfully guided us around the back to a shop that could. When their landlady saw we were not at Preet, she had our car towed away, even though there was only one other car in their large and empty parking lot. With bad knees and a hurting back, we had to walk 5 blocks in tremendous heat and pay $150.00 to retrieve our car. The towing company only takes cash. We were lucky to have that much between us, or I don't know what we would have done. I was not able to walk even another block. We were told the landlady gets a $50.00 kickback for each car she has towed, so I guess that is her incentive. Not Preet's fault, but beware using their parking lot. read more

I very rarely write a review. However, recent experience with Preet Jewelers is happily compelling me to write this review. My wife and I had an extremely positive and satisfying experience at this shop with highly courteous, non-pushy, responsive, and honest staff including its owner Mr Balbir Singh. On top of this, unlike other Indian shops in Edison there was no bargaining - a practice I dislike (as an Indian here for over 50 years). We got a great price without any bargaining. What more could a customer ask for? We visited the store 2 weeks back and the staff spent lot of time showing us multiple gold necklace sets and bangles. But left without a sale as my wife and I wanted to think over. There was absolutely no pressure put on us. On our return visit yesterday, the entire staff spent much time with us again remaining totally professional and helpful. Mr Balbir Singh offered us drinks and we shared our family experiences making our shopping a pleasant visit. With a beautiful gold necklace set, chain, and wide bangles (Karrah) at a great price and dealing with a professional staff, this was our best experience in buying gold jewelry. I called Preet Jewelers today to inquire about astrology-based jewelry. The woman I spoke to initially told me that the jewelry needed to be custom made. Before I could inquire about additional information relating to the process, and other pieces I needed made, she said "I am busy right now and don't have time to answer your questions." She then proceeded to hang up on me. I live over two hours away and was planning to make the trip down to begin the custom building process. After this interaction, I think not. This is the worst possible experience a guy could ever have. I want to give them negative stars if I could. I had purchased a 22k gold bracelet a few days ago and it was exactly 10.8 grams. At the time of purchase, the staff reassured me that in case my wife did not like it, they would allow me to exchange the merchandise for another of my choosing of the same weight. When I did go back to exchange, I was looking for something of the same weight. After about an hour and a half, we found a set consisting of a pair of earrings and a pendant (8.4 grams) that she liked. I still had 2.4 grams left over and thought of getting a small pair of earrings for her as well. However, to my shock the sales staff argued stating that it costs more for the less weighing merchandise than the heavier and it miraculously costs exactly the same as the 10.8 grams bracelet.. My first reaction was utter confusion coupled with anger as this is clearly cheating. They were trying to persuade me that the less weighing merchandise is more valuable. To which I said, "Lady, this is gold we are talking about... and worse case scenario, I will still keep my bracelet and no way will I allow you to cheat me". After a bit of back and forth in their failed attempt to convince me, I told them to open the electric door and walked out with the same bracelet I walked in with to exchange. I am really upset in the fact that those thieves not only attempted to steal my money, but successfuly stole my time. As soon as I got home I decided to write this review so that that it may save others from this horrible experience. I truly hope and pray that this sort of treatment does not happen to anyone else. I really wanted to get something special for my wife and now, the bracelet is tainted and I am annoyed. read more
