I can echo all the good things you see here. And here's some additional perspective on the cost. When you are on their program, your grocery and restaurant bill is lower, so consider that. Also, the value keeps building. I have lost and gained back with other methods. SOTA really taught me to think differently about food and drink. I am now more than 2 years in maintenance and can see that money I paid upfront was an investment. I have never paid another dime yet month after month, they keep me on track. I gained better health, more knowledge and I felt empowered to get rid of my 'fat' clothes once and for all. I wish I could just eat whatever I want to all the time, but I can't without adding a lot of weight. Wow, the cost! The secrecy! I'm not really reviewing the program itself because I still don't know what it is. I'm just putting the word out there as to the cost. I went in today at Sota's Fort Worth location and everyone was very friendly and pleasant. They weighed me and talked about all the good they could do and that I would lose 2 to 3 pounds a week. Finally, they told me the cost which was over $2000 for eight weeks. They provide the 'food' and weekly support meetings after creating a customized program for you. The 'food' she did manage to show me after I pointedly asked looked like plain labeled dried packets or mixes - not too appetizing. The program might work, but I believe the cost is ridiculous and there are probably other programs that work just as well at much lower cost. The unsettling thing about this is when I asked about literature or specifics about the program I was put off by the saleswoman saying that they really wanted to tell us about the program in person. No menu plans were shared nor photos of the food. She did say the program wasn't calorie based, but didn't tell me what it was based on other than it was 'customized.' Also, Relatively speaking, I don't have much to lose. If someone has 100 lbs, does it cost them 10k? It all seems very mysterious and arbitrary and smells strongly of gimmick in my opinion. I'd like to see a few non-biased doctor reviews over the secretive specifics of this program also posted prices of their services on their webpage. read more

This is a great program that is healthy, based on good nutritional information, and it works. (The only negative post I have read about them is from someone who didn't sign up for the program. Everyone who did seems happy. Like me.) There are no secrets to the diet itself. It is focused on reducing carbs dramatically, focusing on protein and healthy fats. They give you the nutritional information for every one of their products. They insist you eat lots of veggies (provided by you). And this doesn't change dramatically once you have lost the weight. They want you to maintain. And to support you they give you lifetime maintenance for free. The ladies here are all very supportive and helpful. I have tried dieting on my own many times with varying degrees of success. This was much easier, much more effective, and much quicker. And it has lead me to continue a healthy diet since finishing the program. The cost is high, but I spoke with a friend of mine who is doing Jenny Craig and said it costs the same. Everyone at Sota was extremely nice. I went in for a consultation but was really shocked by how expensive the program was- all money paid at once. I would not mind paying that kind of price but I felt all the focus was on getting the money out of my pocket as fast as possible. Their hours of operation were not really meant for anyone who works a normal business day. They are open for a few hours on Saturday but I was told that it was too busy on Saturday because everyone tried to come in on Saturday. read more
