After initially meeting, I made it very clear that I was not interested in food logging/tracking due to my history of eating disorders. I advocated for myself and very clearly defined my history, to which the health coach cried and was empathetic. I was then pushed to see if I could instead "just take pictures to track." After being pressured, I agreed but then after processing, I messaged later that day to say the anxiety that had caused me and that I would not be participating in food logging. I initially went due to interest in completing a body scan as I have independently lost 70 pounds and have gained muscle and wanted to track it. At that point it was said that would be ok as the app they use for coaching can looking at calories burned, steps, sleep, etc. (in addition to food logging.) The workouts that they "recommend" for you personally on the app are actually just youtube links that they find. When I went for the blood work, I told the NP ahead of time my history with eating disorders and to which again I reminded during the follow up. Then when going through my bloodwork, when asked what birth control I was using I was given a look of judgement when I said I wasn't on any and then was asked how many children I have had, to which the answer was none and she made another look. I was told to go donate blood due to a high score in one area of my blood work (that is never high) and was actually most likely due to a decrease in my water intake and not a need to go donate my blood? I was then pushed again to food log, to which I said I can't, to then told to take pictures again, to which I again said I can't, to then told well maybe I could work towards food logging? I was then given vitamins without telling me the cost after the overwhelming experience I had and when I asked if I could return them (day of and obviously unopened) I am told that they do not return "consumables." When I went for my appointment today, the first thing I was greeted with was "tell me what has been going on, since you aren't food logging I really can't see anything." I recommended sensitivity training to the staff as in that type of environment they will surely meet people that have also suffered from eating disorders and their lack of awareness and/or pushiness to make someone fit in their model is unhealthy and could cuase someone to spiral. I have cancelled my "membership" but it is a 30 day cancellation so something to also be aware of. read more
