The last time we were there we couldn't even enter the store, you were asked to prepare your list and to give it to a staff member who would prepare it all for you. The staff are quick, friendly and are clearly taking this situation seriously and I can't tell you how much that means to us. The peace of mind of knowing that your groceries hadn't been sneezed on by a million panic shoppers was 100% worth the wait. Bonus: we were able to buy an enormous, restaurant sized bag of flour. The thing I liked was that since it's mostly all from around the province. It makes us consider going to the brewery if the beer was good. But I think it was it's limitation for me. My BF was hesitating between 2 beer and I told him, take option 2, option 1 is from the ruisseau noir in Terrebonne, we could go directly. Going on site to enjoy the product for me is part of the fun. So that's why I can't fully go 5 stars. But I can understand the need and that's why I can't knock it. At the hotel, they sampled Manchebello, their Manchego-style sheep's cheese, and their 3 signature cow's cheeses, i.e., their blue-veined Rebellion 1837, semi-soft Tête à Papineau, and Adoray. Adoray, a soft, relatively young cheese, was especially interesting given the special spruce wood wrap which helps flavor it. Each of them was delicious! At the Fromagerie's cheese shop, although their little restaurant was closed, they sold sandwiches and coffee in addition to a number of gourmet local products, which included (of course) their cheese curd for making that Québécois specialty poutine. If you do order something to eat or drink, there's both indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the Ottawa River. Decided to try out take to go their Adoray cranberry mini baguette sandwich with an onion confit. Glad I did! Even though I didn't get to enjoy it heated, the flavors worked well together. Definitely recommend stopping by Fromagerie Montebello!

I'm glad to find St-Albert's here without having to go to Ontario anymore, but was hoping to find a better selection of Quebec curd cheese as well. Fromagerie Mirabel has less selection compared to other specialty cheese stores I've found in the Montreal area, such as "Fromagerie des nations". To be honest, even some of the nicer IGA or Provigo supermarkets carry a wider selection of cheeses. Go if you want fresh St-Albert's cheese, otherwise this shop might be disappointing, especially if you drove out of the way to visit.

She and her husband worked with local food specialty business from all over the laurentian mountains to create a shop that highlights the best and most tasty local specialty food providers; including local coffee, fondue, pies, wines, bbq sauces, nuts, spreads and more. Very friendly staff and each table provides you with location and a bit of history on the local providers. The building looks a bit commercial in the winter but the walls open up in the spring to feel more like a local market. Great stop for snacks and unique local gifts to take home. Easy access from 117 and plenty of parking. Don't do like us and go in here starving after a day of downhill skiing - or you will end up with a lot of food.
