The pizza here is good, but a bit overrated considering there's plenty of good pizza all over the city. We came because we were told we had to check it out. We were there on a Wednesday evening in October and told it would be a 15-minute wait. 30 minutes later, they seated us. The service was friendly and the food came fast, but it wasn't the best pizza I had in Naples. My son didn't like his that much; he said the crust was burnt. My husband enjoyed his pizza. I wanted the special vegan one, but they said they were out of the tofu cheese and could give me the pizza without it. I agreed because all I'd been eating on the trip was marinara and I wanted a change. What I got was a pizza with no sauce or cheese and a bunch of oily tomatoes and some basil. I added some salt because there wasn't any flavor, and that helped. The crust was delicious, but the pizza as a whole was just OK. Overall, the experience was fine, but the long lines are annoying. If I wanted to eat Sorbillo again, I'd go to one of the many other locations in the city.

There are three pizza shops right next to each other all named Sorbillo. This is the one on the corner with SORBILLO etched in glass above the entrance. We stopped in for a late supper on a busy Friday night. They sat us right away. They were friendly and the food and drinks came out quick. My wife had a apperol spritz and I had an imported Belgian beer, as I was wanting something other than a Peroni. My wife likes apperol spritz and said it was the best one she had on the trip. We shared a buffalo mozzarella pizza with delicious sauce and a magically this crust. Picture attached. This is a cute place with nice indoor and outdoor seating. All the seats on the street were full, as it was a beautiful night. But we were glad we sat inside because it was also nice.

Yummy pizzeria located in the heart of the Via Dei Tribunali! My family tried the Calzone, Carolina Pizza, and some Eggplant sandwich pizza (?). The calzone and Carolina were yummy and cheese everywhere but the eggplant one was funky like not much taste. Service was quick and servers spoke limited English. Their menu had english descriptions under each dish!

Sorbillo is a true Naples classic dating back to 1935x It comes highly recommended by the locals and ... it's well worth the hype. surprisingly the menu had about 30 pizzas to choose from. They open at 7:00 and seemed full right away. We were also surprised to find a gluten free pizza that was nearly as good as their traditional crust. Beverage options are classic Napali with local red wine (aglianaco) or white, bubbles or beer. We ate at a large communal horse shoe table with locals and tourists eating side by side and no less than three languages being heard at any given moment t. Definitely a fun classic experience when visiting Naples.

Nice feel inside, a little nicer but still casual.

From Chicago, first time in Naples today, second pizza : ) Here are some thoughts: --We arrived shortly after 5, no wait for a table, got seated right away, at larger table with others. --I'm not that adventurous when it comes to pizza, so I ordered the Margarita pizza. --This pizza is very large, but thin crust, lighter than I'm used to. --I ate a couple of outer crust pieces, and told my wife it was good, but not great. It had a burnt taste that I didn't love. --She said she thought it was really good, so I tried eating a piece from the middle and wow! This pizza has great sauce and flavors, nice basil. Highly, highly recommended!!

Ambiance: speaking of Sorbillio family, you'll be shocked of how many children and grand children this family tree holds, there're three Sorbillio restaurants on the same street, I marked in the related photos as Gino/Original (dine-in long waiting lines), Fast (seems for takeout), and Corner (by the location, and usually easier to be seated), my review is mainly based on the corner restaurant Service: very friendly and get seated after a short waiting time, patient with questions and provided useful suggestions Food & Drink: specialized menu for pizza NUUJA - **** Calabrian nduja hot pork sauce, sausage, buffalo stracciata cheese, fresh ingredients, recommend ZUCCA E SPECK - ***** Pumpkins'cream, smoked burrata cheese 125gr, speck, chilli pepper threads, unique flavors, highly recommend RIAR ALE - **** Golden Ale with white foam, golden colour, fruity aromas on the nose and an unconventional earthiness given by the friarielli, typical neapolitan vegetable, easy to drink, recommend Price: premium quality and affordable prices, expect €20 per person for a very satisfying meal

We visited for lunch and did not have to wait for a table for two but it shouldn't be a surprise that this place is busy, the pizzas were amazing. Napoli gifted the world pizza and this establishment did not disappoint. There isn't much else to say besides that this is a must try before the eternal rest.

I'm a huge fan of Neapolitan pizza. I seek it out everywhere I can find it. So naturally when in Naples, I was ecstatic! The wait was about 30 minutes, which isn't as long as it could have been. We just put our names on a list and stood outside. Once seated, the service was quite slow. It took a long time for our order to be taken and even longer for our pizza. The pizza was SO good though, that it didn't matter!

Really wish more pizza places were as good and enjoyable as this one. When you arrive go check in with the person at the door even if you see a line. Sometimes larger groups are waiting for a table but a couple or single diner can go straight inside. Everything about the pizza here is very good or better. The dough tastes like a great family recipe. The red sauce is drinkable. The basil tastes freshly picked. The cheese tastes freshly pulled and grated. It all comes together for an excellent meal. The menu is huge so be sure to come with multiple people and try a few different pies. Don't be afraid to explore, because I really enjoyed the less than traditional Ciro. You can pretty much get any pizza for less than €10. Service is exceptional with staff constantly picking up empty plates, refilling glasses, and watching for guests in need. Nobody on staff feels wasted. It's a all around great time.

This was a perfect lunch stop our first time going to downtown! I was proud of myself ordering our meal and also asking for the restroom. The pizza was SO good, as was the limoncello spritz! The decor is so pretty, and the service was prompt and friendly.

This place, get there early or you will be waiting over an hour to get a seat. But, honestly, probably the best pizza I've ever ate. You can just taste the difference, whether it's in the what for the dough, the water they use, it the fresh ingredients, that Margherita pizza was, by far, the best pizza I've ever ate. And the pizzas come to the take fairly fast, depending on how crowded it is. But, if your in Naples, make it a must do and head to Sorbillo and get the Margherita pizza .. actually, get two or three of them, you won't regret it!

Gino e Toto Sorbillo has more modern pizzas, with creative topping combinations. Hearing about the lines, I had expectations for this place, but the restaurant was nearly empty when we went. We ordered two pizzas, the Nduja (Nduja sausage + a plain sausage) pizza and the Blue Cheese (prosciutto + blue cheese + fig jam) pizza. To be honest, I still prefer the traditional Margherita pizza. The two sausages were good individually, but I'm not sure they worked well together, because the Nduja one was a lot spicier and overpowered the other sausage. It would have been better if only Nduja sausage was used, and used sparingly. The combination of prosciutto + blue cheese + fig jam sounded cool, but a milder cheese like Pecorino would have paired better with the salty prosciutto. So I'm not sure if their "innovative" flavor combinations worked (1 star off). Moving onto their dough, they mentioned that their dough recipe uses high hydration. No wonder the dough was quite soggy for both pizzas (1 star off). The center of the pizza was like a tomato-cheese-bread soup. With so many different pizza options in Napoli, I am shocked this place is a favorite.

This was my reason for coming to Napoli, the birthplace of pizza! So you can imagine that I had very high expectations! We came early, as we were there a few minutes after open time. They sat us upstairs as downstairs was packed already. The place is nice, and modern with Italian charm and character. We were promptly served by our server, who brought us our drinks and gave us recommendations. I went for the original, Margherita with Bufala cheese and we also ordered the Rodolfo. I have no words to describe how good the pizzas were! Outstanding!! I don't know if is the quality of the product but the San Marzano tomatoes and the buffalo cheese were out of this world! And the dough...sooooo insanely good! Coming to Napoli just to try the pizza is completely worth it! Oh, and our waiter was so nice! He brought us limoncello and babà as dessert so we could try it out. Overall, the best pizza I ever had!

I haven't had a server more rude than this in a long time…read more We arrived when the restaurant was full, so we waited at the door. No acknowledgement of any kind by the server, who was a lady walking around inside. She was the only server, but there are only 9 or so tables in the small space so she definitely saw us since she walked by to various tables. When a table left, the bus boy cleaned it and motioned us to sit. Once we were ready to order, we waited. ...and waited, and waited. So we raised our hand for a few minutes straight, while the lady continued to walk to other tables and ignore us for some reason. Then the table next to us got a new party. Finally, the bus boy saw our raised hand came over, and I asked him to call the lady over. He did, we saw. And then she proceeded to take the order of the table next to us, who sat down more than 10 minutes after we did. They even looked at us apologetically. Finally, after putting in that table's order, she came to us. So she clearly knew we were waiting. I don't understand why she was somehow prejudiced to ignore us, but I was about to just leave. And maybe I should have - the pizza honestly wasn't that great. My pizza had mushrooms were canned and flavorless, and chewy thick dough that I didn't end up finishing. We also had a variation of diavola that came with eggplant, and it was slightly better but still nowhere near as flavorful as other spots we tried in Naples. Don't bother coming here. There are so many other spots with better food and service.

The pizza was good but didn't really blow me away. We got the margherita and a two other pizzas which I can't remember the name of. The crust wasn't as chewy or stretchy as I imagined it would be. The edges weren't crispy or very thick like I expected either. There's certain things I expect to see in Neapolitan pizza which I just wasn't getting from Pavia. I got pizza elsewhere in Naples the next day and noticed the crust was much different and had singed crust by the wood fired oven. Pavia is OK but I've honestly had similar pizza back in the states. It's a good option if you're nearby but you may find something better if you look a little further.

It's the real deal!! He makes the art of pizza making look so effortless. A true pizza professional! On the advice of our local tour guide, we started with the Potato Croquette appetizer. The filling is a delicious smoked provola cheese from the mountains. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but the camera didn't eat first. The order comes with 2 large croquettes for sharing. Absolutely delicious! After that, we ordered our pizzas. I selected the Pizza Frittta Completa, and he went with the Come Una Capricciosa. We figured it would be a small portion based on the price. We were wrong. Especially the stuffed and fried pizza. I could have easily shared that one. I've never had anything like it. The filling was an explosion of different flavors. The fried dough was light as air. It's so unique! My husband's pizza was just as fantastic. I didn't get to try it, but he kept commenting on the light crust & freshness of the hand crushed tomatoes and provola cheese. He consumed all of it. Honestly, everything was delicious! This place has changed my view of Neapolitan pizza. I've never been a fan of soggy middles, but this was different. The service was actually very good here. We were able to somehow communicate between our very broken Italian, and their better than average English. The menus are in Italian but you can pull up the english version using the QR code at the table. There are desserts, but we didn't get to try them. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. This place was packed with local clientele after 1pm. It's very popular. Don't skip it when near Piazza del Plebiscito. I'm still craving that delicious Pizza Fritta.

Quintessential tourist trap…read more Great location, mediocre service, and the food is just fine. It's very touristy and that explains everything. I was surprised by the aggressive nature of their tipping solicitation. I asked and looked up common tipping practices before we came. I always want to be a good tourist. Our server dropped the check and immediately proclaimed that doesn't include tip, even though there was a service fee. You don't write the tip in either. You have to tell the waiter. I was really caught off guard. The bill was 75 euro, so I said 15 euro. Thats 20% of the entire bill including taxes and other charges. Thats how I tip back home. He said, "19 euros." Lol! So, not only do you tip on top of a tip, they demand more. I accommodated because 4 euros won't kill me, it's not worth the hassle, and I'm not going to let it affect my families enjoyment of this beautiful place. Kind of a gross situation though.
