I ordered the Jamaican tea drink-so dressing and the Kingsley Street Fried Chicken dinner. I really enjoyed the ambience and hospitality here. I cannot convey how delicious this food is!!! This is in my top three restaurants to eat at now.

Soul food has arrived to North Buffalo in a big way! Get the word out because I need them to stay!…read moreRestaurant is in the heart of North Buffalo, located on Hertel about two blocks from Parkside. Cute vibe inside. They do have a bar setup, but didn't appear it's used for alcohol. I was greeted as soon as I opened the door and was walking through. Being my first time, I did order a few didn't dishes, sides and desserts to try. There was NOT a bad dish. All the food was amazing. Great portions, tasty flavors and everything truly was cooked to perfection. I have given up talking about prices because let's be honest where can you go for cheap anymore. BUT I have to mention I got the Kinsley street fried chicken dinner, it comes with four prices chicken (half chicken, breast, leg, wing, and thigh) and two sides for 22.99, I felt this was actually a great price point and so worth it. Our next dish was the JP fish sandwhich and fries, again, the sandwhich was huge, the fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Fries were yummy. Next up was the TPs hot honey chicken sandwhich. Now I am over the hot honey chicken sandwhich as it's been done to death, but I still always feel the need to try eveyones hahaha, and glad I did another grand slam sandwhich! For the sides, I tried the Mac and cheese, pinto beans, collard greens and coleslaw. If you follow my reviews I am a Mac and cheese snob, don't think I order many that I liked, well thank you Heavens because the Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS!!! The Coleslaw was also top notch. I don't eat collard greens or pinto beans but my family told me they were good. They did not have desserts on the menu but I seen some on the counter, sooooo I order a slice of caramel cake, slice of sour cream cake and peach cobbler. Fat kid heaven they all were so good. Literally the best caramel cake since my mother in law! I felt like I just ate at my husband's family reunion. I had to go in and order, then I left ran to dash and came back in about 25 mins and my food was ready when I got back. So service was pretty fast. My only thing wish you could order on line first, parking is not the best in that area. Also Google has address as 1641 Hertel but it actually is 1633, not a big deal because same area but just a heads up.

I ordered the…read morepancake breakfast with the pancakes prepared well done, cheese eggs, bacon and a side of cheesy grits. My hubby had the catfish and shrimp dinner with greens, coleslaw, mac and cheese with cornbread. Breakfast: Pro's- my pancakes were cooked perfectly. Well done, crispy edges, fluffy and soft inside. Some of the BEST pancakes I've had in a very long time. Eggs were good and I really enjoyed the thick cut bacon. The consistency of the grits were the perfect texture and required NO extra salt. Con's- I asked for more strawberries and was denied. They said it was just a garnish. I would've paid extra if need be, so I was taken a back by the response. The fruit complimented the cakes like jelly does with peanut butter. You can have it alone, but together it's even better. Another con was they charge extra for cheese in the grits and in the eggs. The charge has become customary so thats no big deal, I just hate when you're not told it'll be an extra charge and get a surprise when you're settling the bill. Lunch: Pro's- Shrimp and coleslaw were very tasty. Con's-My husband was disappointed with the fish. He stated it lacked flavor despite it looking well seasoned on the outside. I guess it didnt soak into the actual fish. The greens were ok and he didnt care for the mac and cheese. Overall, good. However, just an ok lunch which was surprising because we used to come here for our Black History celebration every year and the food would always exceed expectations. The music playing in the background added to the ambiance in a good way. Give them a shot. Pro tip- Brunch starts at 12pm on Sunday so if you want to beat the church crowd go b/w 12-12:45pm that day. Definitely worth checking out. The brunch is delicious!

The restaurant is downtown, and we parked right in front. Found it strange that we could only order to go and there wasn't a dine in option on a Saturday. We still ordered and ate in the car. We had fried haddock, sweet potatoes, and collard greens, along with a slice of Hennessey pound cake. The food was hot. Had good flavor but wasn't a fan of the breading on the fish and the cake was very dense. The gentleman that took our order was very nice and the chef was also friendly. All in all the food was OK.
