She picked a beautiful ocean front in Hilo. There is always a potential for rain and she communicated that with me ahead of time. We were lucky and it was a gorgeous day. I walked up to a massage bed beautifully laid out with Sam's tools. I got comfortable and we discussed my goals. She had already made a handful of notes based on our earlier discussion and as to not give away all her magic, I will tell you my mind was blown with the gifts I received. We began our first session on land. Once completed, she moved me to a floating pad on the water. We were so lucky to have a Honu (turtle) share the water with us. Once our time there was complete, Sam and I chatted for quite some time and absorbed all the beauty we were in. We moved back to the land spot where she had a nice robe waiting for me to warm up in. We looked up my readings and I felt like she took so much care and extra time I could have spent all day with her. Nestled in a quiet (well, it was that day) neighborhood, Laura's office is actually her home. Her home is exudes peace and tranquility. It really was a lovely welcome to soothe my fears. Laura greeted us and made us feel at peace right from the start. She reviewed a general health checklist and provided great information on some of my health concerns. She also gave me helpful tips on diet based on a quick examination of my pulse and a quick look at my tongue. Amazing! As I laid down and tried to calm the nerves, she began playing soothing music and covered my eyes with a lavender scented towel. Divine! She then quickly went to work, placing needles in areas that would move my chi and help relieve some health concerns. I felt a warming sensation and energy flow to the areas where the needles were placed. It felt very strange, yet amazing at the same time. I had been suffering from a chronic headache and stress build up in my shoulders. After the session, the tension had disappeared and I felt a boost of energy. To my dismay, when I arrived the massage had been subcontracted to a different therapist to which I was her first client. She apologized that the room wasn't ready upon my arrival. The facility was dingy and unwelcoming. I could hear loud chatter and traffic from next door. I have received several massages from around the world and this was by far the worst. Even the payment process wasn't smooth. I was quoted $90 and charged $115. Not only did I feel deceived and unsatisfied, I was also overcharged.
