Our chimney cap pealed off during Hurricane Michael. The pipes were destroyed and needed to be replaced also. I sought somebody to give me a quote for about a year and everybody wanted too much to give me a quote and would keep me waiting too long, I was finally called Sootmaster. They charged me $55 and could come out the next day. They gave me a quote of about $16K, because the company that made my fireplace had gone out of business and there were no pipes available that had been certified with that fireplace. When USAA approved the quote they came out w/in a week and installed the new fireplace and chimney in 2 days. The workers were courteous and had exemplary attitudes, except that they ran into a problem in putting the new siding on the chimney they rebuilt due to a mess on the roofing (left by ANC Roofing, the worst company I've ever dealt with) and just left a patched-looking area in the chimney siding near the roof and a wrinkle in the new chimney cap. I called for about 2 months, trying to get Soot Master to send them back out to fix the problems, but nobody answered the phone. I left messages and finally after a couple months, Patrick called back and said he had just gotten the message. He apologized and said they'd make it right and get the team back out fix it. The previous foreman didn't return, but Dave and Dennis returned. They both still had the same great attitude and happily fixed all the issues I requested. They also always left the worksite clean and were a joy to have around. As you can see, it wasn't a perfect experience, but Dave and Dennis were determined to ensure I was 100% satisfied. We called numerous fireplace/chimney companies to come to our home to assess our Hurricane Michael-damaged chimney and fireplace, and none were available, until we saw a yard sign for local fireplace service. Sootmaster answered immediately and came to offer an assessment and quote within 24 hours. Our chimney was loose from wind damage and the fireplace was rusted out from water intrusion. It was a hazard, and we needed the chimney removed before the roof was to be replaced, within the week. Scott, Cole, Cody and Brandon were on-site within 72 hours to handle the chimney removal (and cleaned up all debris, including in the pool, as they worked), removed the existing fireplace, prepped for the new one to go in its place, and allowed us the space of time to get gas lines replaced that we wanted to have handled before the new one went in. We called them back, at our convenience, and Scott installed a beautiful, efficient unit the very next day. Sootmaster clearly values customer service, and made us feel very comfortable to have them in our home, with their courteous nature, professional attitudes, and clear communication about their work and products. In a post-hurricane environment, it's easy to take advantage of people's needs and willingness to pay for whatever is asked, but Sootmaster was clearly offering reasonable pricing, and was interested in caring for the customer and upholding their reputation as a fair and honest business. Like most of Panama City, our chimney was ruined by hurricane Micheal. After many calls to various companies we finally reached out to Soot Master. Within the week they were here to give us a quote. Once we were approved through our insurance Soot Master had us scheduled for the following week. They cleaned my chimney, as well as stopped a leak. These two things don't sound like much but I never cleaned my chimney. So combined a mix of water and soot came into my living room. To make matters worse I had white carpet. The keyword being had. This was a huge problem and right away I called a roofer to fix my leak. They came out and assured me the leak was stopped. A week later there was a really bad storm and if anything the leak just got worse. That's when I called soot master and they fixed it the same day they came out for an inspection.
