Always a wonderful therapeutic massage. Additionally Michael is always so positive which enhances the experience. Bless him.

1000/10 hands down. He's a gem! He fixed my neck knots and cured my migraines from severe TMJ. Whenever I'm stressed I think about coming back to get a massage. I've been to so many different spas and massage therapists, but he's the only one who's fixed my sciatica pain and TMJ issues. He really knows his stuff too, he does an assessment before the massage to see where is the root cause of the tension and inflammation. I legit can't wait to free some time so that i can book an appointment again. Another plus! it's affordable so you can come by every week if you'd want to! read more

Michael Anthony is the only massage therapist you need in your life hands down. I got into a car accident a couple years back that really messed me up. I've gone to physical therapists and chiropractors but nothing helped. I came across Mike on yelp and I'm so glad I decided to come in. I've gone back to mike 3 times now and every time I leave I tell him change the business name from "Sooth away your aches" to "brand new you" lol. He's helped me get my hip mobility back that I haven't had in years. He understands how the whole body is connected - instead of just where you experience the pain, mike searches for all the imbalances that is the root of the problem. I've had so many massages in my life where I've left feeling like I just got poked around. It's so refreshing to meet someone who can provide me with relief and results. It's not the most relaxing place as it's on Main Street, but your main goal for coming here is to get relief! I've already recommended my mom, girlfriend, and friends. It's literally been life changing for me. If you're body hurts, come see mike and let him know what's bothering you. He really goes to battle with your pain and he doesn't disappoint. read more

If you are looking for serene spa-like setting, this place is not it. The place looks a little cluttered and could use a lady's touch. You get your massage in a room that used to be a dining room or something, so it's not really a closed-in massage room. There is a privacy curtain, but doesn't really close fully at the end. Perhaps that's for some people who don't feel comfortable being in a closed room with a male masseuse. That being said, the massage is great and VERY affordable. If you are looking for a long, therapeutic massage, and don't care for setting, then this place is it. read more

Michael Anthony might be the best licensed massage therapist in the tri-state area - he's better than anybody I've been to even in New York. I saw him regularly for pain management (after an injury to my cervical spine) when I lived in New Jersey, and even after moving back to New York, there is nobody I trust more to put me back into action when I manage to jack myself up, and I still try to see him at least a couple times a month. His rates are extremely affordable and it is absolutely worth it to go see him. I have never met any other massage therapist who is as talented as detecting and eliminating tension, and restoring range of motion. He is also an extremely nice guy, has a great sense of humor, and is truly dedicated to helping you get better - unlike other therapists, who try to string you along for as many appointments as possible, and then do a half-assed job on you. Michael is extremely professional, and dedicates himself 100% to getting you to be relaxed and pain-free by the end of your session. He is also the best-trained massage therapist I've ever been to - in addition to his training from massage school, he has also attended numerous continuing education courses in order to learn more varied massage techniques, and to receive specialized training on treating specific body parts (such as the neck, lower back, etc.), as evidenced by the numerous certificates and accolades mounted on the wall by his desk. In order to keep his prices affordable, he runs a one-man operation, and doesn't have a secretary - so if you try calling and he doesn't pick up, it's best to leave a message with your phone number; it's also a good idea to email him, which is what I usually do. His appointments fill up quickly, so I recommend booking a week or so in advance. read more

I really appreciate Michael's knowledge in what he does. I was having multiple aches and he took the time to patiently go over them. The next day, I felt so well. A little sore (deep tissue), but the pain and aches were completely alleviated! Thanks Mike! read more

The best massage ever! I can not wait to book again. Michael was patient and understanding and has quite the personality! Definitely recommend to anyone who suffers from sciatica read more

Michael is a master at what he does. Hands down the only massage therapist that was able to make me feel like a human again! I managed to basically lock my right side of my lower back which caused me so much pain if I sat for too long. I couldn't stand properly, lay down comfortably. I went to a Chiro and they had a massage therapist in staff and that was a total joke. I've gone to other ones in the past and they just did not hit the right problem areas. I googled so many spots but besides the raving reviews, I honestly went to him because my pain was so bad I just didn't want to have to travel so far out and boy was I not disappointed AT ALL. He's also a funny dude. Super professional and honestly really loves his job. He has so much patience and takes time with every part of your body that has knots and is tight. I work out pretty hard and I felt so good after the massage. I did so many PR's after my appointment, I felt like a beast. I already scheduled my next appointment. I am one super happy customer! read more

Absolutely the best!! Barely able to move when I initially arrived; left feeling on cloud 9. Michael took his time to really penetrate certain issue areas. I suffer from sciatica and it was completely resolved by the time he finished. He wouldn't allow me to leave until it was fixed; something you never find these days. If you know anything about massage it will hurt a bit but he listened to me and my bodies reaction and through patience and care really went over and beyond. read more

TIP for the first timers: when calling to make an appointment and you don't get through, LEAVE A MESSAGE. He will call you back as soon as he can! This is how the beginning of a typical appointment convo goes with Mike and me..... Mike: "Hey Marthy, how are you doing?" Me: "I'm doing well, how are you?" Mike: "No you're not..or else you wouldn't be calling me." LOL!! Mike knows what's up. He can immediately tell what's wrong with you the moment you walk through the door. Could be your posture or the way you're walking or standing, he will start evaluating what needs to be done. He truly cares about all of this clients and about the work he does. You can come in for an hour massage appointment and possibly stay for an extra 30 mins or so just because he isn't finished working out some knots and because your back is that messed up! (yep that's what happens with me all the time) I don't come in for a fluffy duffy massage. I need the painful deep tissue massage that leaves me sometimes bruised, but actually relieves all the pain and makes me feel amazing the next day. If that's you then... YOU NEED TO SEE MIKE ASAP! Don't expect a "spa-like" experience here. He uses high quality products and customizes them for each client, but the decor isn't what you would typically see if you were to go to one of those high-end spas. You're coming here to get some pain relief, not to ooooo and aaaaahhh and the decor though, am I right??! He's here to give you your money's worth and TRUST ME, it's totally worth it! (Worth even more!) He is also accommodating with your schedule. Sometimes I think he's a robot and doesn't sleep because he has client's that have massages super late at night or super early in the morning. He accommodated a 6am appointment for me because I was in so much pain....now how awesome is that?! You can find online deals all the time and he will lock in that price for you FOREVER!! Park in the small driveway/parking lot in the back. read more

Michael must be the best kept secret of LMT's in the area. I am a flight attendant and former circus aerialist and have received countless massages over the years so I know what's good and am pretty picky. This guy is good. Really, really good. I've had persistent, constant tightness for years in a very deep area of my neck from an old trapeze injury. Michael found it immediately and very patiently worked on it. My appt was for one hour -- he worked on me for almost 2. By the time I left I was actually PAIN FREE, something I have not experienced since I can remember. Additionally, he noticed I was dehydrated from work and applied a special paraffin treatment to help rehydrate. Big businesses like massage envy and discount spas have a limited time to work before seeing the next client, use the same standardized technique, and I would often walk out feeling generally relaxed but still with the pain that led me there in the first place. Sometimes I would even be in worse pain, as if they were able to locate the problem and bring it to the surface, but not alleviate it. I figured if these licensed practitioners couldn't treat it, it wasn't treatable and just accepted pain and stiffness as normal. Michael proved me wrong; honing right in specific issues with the precision of a skilled doctor. It just took more patience than you'll find at a typical spa. Michael is a rarity -- genuinely interested in finding, fixing, & explaining the problem and making people feel their best. He seemed to have intuitive knowledge of the right pressure to use and different body types. On top of that, his rates are very reasonable and he uses massage tables more comfortable than my own bed. Oh, and there is free off street parking, which is a luxury in North Jersey. You don't need to stress about finding a spot or getting a ticket. Nice, soothing atmosphere inside. Large flat screen tv in the waiting area (though there was no wait, he seems to spread clients out generously). He also keeps records on the specific issues for each person so that he knows what to focus on next. At the end of the visit, Michael even went through one more time to make sure there was no remaining tension! His primary concern is helping his client, not how much time has passed. I thought practitioners like that were urban legends. Only thing I would suggest is spruce up the website. Maybe add a bio with some info about yourself and MT background. Aside from that, I really can't recommend him highly enough. I'm glad I found him and my search for the right massage therapist is over! read more

How have I not written a review for Sooth Away Your Aches???? Michael is amazing. Seriously. I'm not wild about being touched. In fact, I'd avoided massages for years because I don't like strangers touching me. I relented a few years ago, but never quite got the sense of euphoria that everyone else seems to. Like - I'd be somewhat more relaxed thanks to the hour or so in a dim, aromatherapied, soundscaped room, but would still feel every knot, tightness, and ache. Until I met Michael last year. There are really no words to describe how different this is from your standard issue massage. Michael actually finds all of the knots, and tightness, and aches, and he addresses them systematically. I'll walk in feeling a little beat down and tired, but leave feeling restful and ready for life. I can't recommend Michael highly enough. It's just so great to have a relaxing, effective massage. read more

Michael was amazing! He literally made my pain so much more bearable. Its been just over 2 months and this COVID is messing with my ability to go back but just know the moment he indicates his doors are open I'm back there because I and my low back misses him! read more

I called on NYEVE, as I was in alot pain. Migraine. Michael fit me in and worked the pain radiating down my neck. I felt relief and highly recommend. Not a typical relaxation massage, he works on what's hurting you. read more

Michael is one of the best Massage therapist in the area he truly is passionate about his craft. He works on you until all your aches are soothe away. The first time I went to him I was not sure what I was getting myself into. A two hour massage for $40 is practically unheard of, but I left feeling like a million bucks and sometimes as a flight Attendant we end up feeling like a dollar at the end of the day! I just went back to him because I woke up with a stiff neck and he worked on me until the pain went away. I left there feeling much better then when I came in. Highly recommend Michael if you want a professional massage really worth it!! read more

Oh my goodness, this guy knows exactly what he's doing... A muscle whisperer. I literally left that place feeling like i had an entirely new body. The place is not fancy but it doesn't even matter.. The service is phenomenal and he is very professional. He will explain things as he's doing them and most importantly he takes his time!!! read more

I love this place and I cannot recommend it enough! Mike is fantastic at what he does. Massages are affordable and completely relaxing. I always feel refreshed afterward. I work out a lot and get sore on occasion. After a visit with Mike and I feel like I'm ready to go back to the gym! Mike will chat with you about anything you'd like and is a really good listener. A quick note about scheduling appointments. If you call and don't get Mike on the phone, leave him a message of when you're looking to come in and he will call you back if he can fit you in. If you're going to just keep calling hoping to get a secretary answering the phone, you will be disappointed. So be smart, call ahead and let him know when you're ready to come in. Also, free candy at the front in front of the TV! read more

Michael did in one session what my chiropractor couldn't do in one month. All my back and shoulder pain was gone two days after my massage. For sure the best massage I have been to in the state. read more

Possibly the best and most effective massage I've experienced in 30 years. Yesterday I was suffering from severe lower back pain and leg/ankle strain; today I am not. I had a massage by Michael. I'm hooked. As a physical comedian whose body has been put through decades of wear and tear on the stage, that is the highest acknowledgement I can give Michael. More than just talented, he clearly has a gift for reading the body and working with it, (using some amazing techniques), to correct issues and restore harmony. He says his commitment is to have his clients live pain-free lives. I observed that everything - his impeccable work, the generous length of his sessions, his pricing - everything falls in line with that commitment. I'm committed to going back every month! Truly amazing. read more

I've been coming intermittently for the past 4 years and Mike is consistently awesome. Mike does not run a spa, though he does set a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. He works hard to understand what you need and goes above and beyond. I've recommended Mike to numerous relatives, all of whom are now regulars of his! read more

I havent had massage for decades. I stopped going to spas or massage places because most of the time Im not satisfied. I dont feel any relief and most of the time pain get worst. I was around the area and i was desperate of anything just to lessen my back pain which also affected my hips. I found Michael - who is a game changer, man.. that guy is awesome and gifted! He doesnt do shit like " is the pressure ok? Do you like that" No. I called Jesus several times to help me endure the pain, there are moments that i felt my tears running down my face and I was hyperventelating to almost feeling of passing out. After he released all those free loader tense muscles i have for years pestering my body, I thought I was a butterly ready to fly straight to his ceiling! Literally speaking - It was out of this world experience. He is a miraculous worker and funny guy read more

Not impressed will not be going back. Michael the Massage Therapist does not know what he is doing. I wanted a traditional deep tissue massage, full body. One he did not focus on trouble area , my back. Two did not work on feet because as he said he does not do Reflexology. And lastly he bruised my legs and glutes, which is still showing after a week and a half. He said he was doing Myofascial Release. I never had this modality done on me before. But I do know with the research I have done it is suppose to be gentle work. Like I said before I will not be going back because this Therapist is dangerous. If I could give a half star I would. read more

Who doesn't like a great massage at an affordable price? Mike is an awesome masseuse, and a professional one who actually cares about giving pain relief to his clients rather than just charging by the hour. However, doeanybody know if this place is still open? I have been trying to reach them by phone for about a month but unsuccessful. Update: Following my above question, Mike got in touch with me and I just had another amazing massage service!! Thank you Mike!!! read more

Muscle whisperer!!! That's what he is!!! If you're in pain for the first time or dealing with chronic pain and have been seeking a therapist who truly understands the anatomy of the body, you must go find Mike. As a dentist, I know that a good care provider is someone who is driven by the goal to help someone achieve health vs putting his business and time first. It's obvious that his goal is nothing other than to help alleviate your pain. Also as a dentist, I've constantly dealt with chronic neck/shoulder/back pain and have become a professional massage client. I know a good one. Mike is the real deal. There were times during my appt when I'd be blown away at how he'd find something and take his time to resolve it. If you've been to a good massage therapist, they'll probably pay attention to your sore spot and then move on. He's BETTER! Mike literally spent 3 hours on me to patiently resolve every kink in my body. I can't even tell you how thorough and committed he is in getting your body back to "normal" and I'm distraught as I'm from Baltimore and found him during my weekend work trip. To make it even sweeter, he is beyond affordable!!! Like jaw dropping affordable. He takes credit card and cash. I'd prob recommend cash in the future visits. We need more providers like Mike in this industry. read more

Ok.. so normally I am not one to write reviews but I feel compelled to share my unique experience... This has been hands down, the best massage I have EVER received! I went in with a lot of pain which I (incorrectly) thought was coming from my lower back. Low and behold, the pain was stemming from my hips. Michael worked his "magic" and I left pain free. I was blown away by the fact that when he initially began massaging, my range of motion was very limited..by the end I could literally lift both my legs straight up in the air ..pain free! I recommend him blindly! Michael is intuitive, takes the time to get to know you and truly tries to understand your lifestyle and how it may contribute to your ailments! PS If he doesn't answer, just leave a message.. he gets back to you ASAP read more

Michael is a wonderful masseuse. I usually go to him when i'm in extreme pain, I mean extreme. Once I couldn't raise my right arm for a month, IDK what I did. Anyway, one sessions with him and a couple of days later. PAIN GONE. Seriously, IDK what he does but it works like magic. He specializes each massage according to where I have pain or discomfort in my body. I had carpal tunnel once so he used paraffin wax on my hands, it was so nice and relaxing. I also have great conversations when I go to him. He's actually pretty knowledgeable and knows a lot. I appreciate his point on view on things. So each massage session is like I get therapy for my body and also my brain. This is my regular spot. POINT BLANK PERIOD. read more

I have had chronic pain for many years. I will definitely come back to "Soothe your aches away". I feel that Michael cares about the client. He does not just stick to a uniformed pattern the way they do at other massage businesses or spas or stick to a strict time limit. He goes according to each person and what they need. I referred a few people and they said they would go back to "Soothe" because of their positive experience. read more

Let me put it this way. I have moved out of the area and think about Mike once a month! Lol He is a great person and a wonderful massage therapist. He cares about you and takes the time to figure out where your problems lie and aims to fix it. Unlike other places that charge you an arm and a leg for what feels like a cat walking on your back for ohh 45 minutes when you paid for 60! I found Mike on Groupon back in 2011 and was unsure, but that was the best thing I ever did. He has helped me when I pinched my sciatic nerve and couldn't lift my leg, when I got hit by a drunk driver and had pain everywhere and when I was stressed. However, let me make this clear, this is not the spa like marble floor, zen garden, water fountain environment you pay over $200/hour for. It's his office, with just him, you keep your undergarments on, chat about life and get actual help and results. Since moving away, I have not gotten a chance to find time to go up, but if you are nearby, don't hesitate and make an appointment with him. read more

I am so happy mike is doing so well! He truly is dedicated to his practice and upkeeps with certifications and constantly learns on how to make YOU feel better. He tries different creams and lotions based on your body type and activity. Very thorough! My only wish is that he lived on Staten Island so I wouldn't have to drive an hour to see him! Who else would work on the 50 knots I have in my shoulder for an extended period of time and talk to me and work out all the crap that I'm going thru with the rest my life?! read more

I found Sooth Away Your Aches based on Google searches and many positive Yelp reviews. I was not let down! After years of rotating therapists at chain-massage companies, I am so happy to have found Michael. For years I have suffered from tight muscle knots in my back, legs, neck, glutes. I have tried acupuncture, chiropractic, PT, and more. After one session with Michael my muscle tightness has already loosened up. I felt the difference right away. He is very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. He attends workshops and classes to stay updated and gain even more knowledge. He found and fixed things on me that I didn't even know were the source of my pain. I am so happy to have found a massage therapist who truly knows what he's doing. I would recommend him to anyone who is suffering from body/muscular pain!! read more

If you want the best...you go to the best. I went to Mike for my shoulder, which I tore 2 years ago and had rotator cuff surgery. Now I didn't get the serene atmosphere and scents of majestic floral everywhere, but I got the best relief I've had since my surgery. Mike was cool & also honest as I asked him when I should I return and he informed me when my shoulder was ready. This is a person who would rather help you heal than make a quick buck. I felt amazing after...even slept like a baby when I got home. Just great. read more

Well I guess I will keep the trend going! Mike has been an awesome massage therapist. I have had persistent neck and shoulder pain for several years now. I have also used Mike for Personal Training. He has helped me get stronger and loose weight! read more

This month will be a year since the daily deal groupon changed it all. Since being diagnosed with diabetes some years ago, I have made massages a weekly routine, having numerous LMTs. I use to have a LMT come to my house that was capable and good, but his schedule conflicted with mine. My groupon purchase day was that freak snowstorm last October. I was leery at first, and a bit apprehensive about "cheating" on my LMT- but oh well! When Mike started my massage, I know this was the therapist for me. I had a NYC chiropractic based LMT in the past, that stared at the clock- not with Mike, time as well as money, was no issue. To make this as short as possible, this man is well qualified in his trade, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, professional and an overall nice guy. I hope his business picks up, but not too much- I still want to call him in case of emergencies! read more

This was the best massage yet! He was so professional, and worked hard to get all the knots out of my back and neck. He found the problem areas immediately, and worked on them until they were gone!
