I was refused because of not having any kidney stones in 3 years.... So sorry it's 3 years and 2 months. I was a patient there for kidney stone Jan 2021. Because I haven't had another kidney stone with 3 years they refused to help me. It's 2024 and I was last there Jan 2021. Receptionist refused me because of a 2 month over the 3 yr mark. Why would I take up a doctors time if I have no reason to visit? It's hard enough for ppl that need an appointment to get o e in a timely manner and they want me to come in unnecessarily. Sounds like they just want money and do not actually care for people. Her suggestion is to go to ER, the pain is not yet excruciating and they suggest I take up ER time and have me spend what is NEVER under 6 hrs at the ER. Oh and she said to ensure I go to Lourdes ER so I could get referred back to their office. Well that for sure isn't happening. Why would I go back to an office that has no compassion or empathy for its patients?

There are other doctors in this office that may not have the same reputation as Miller. Miller knows his stuff, although he speaks very low and quickly which isn't a good habit when u need to communicate to the elderly. He also doesn't speak directly to you but that is because he reads at the same time as he speaks! He has been treating my father for cancer for many years and has always recommended the best of treatments for him. He is willing to answer any questions no matter how silly one might think they are.

Lourdes Walk-In - Incompetent doc said I didn't have scabies and that there's no way to 100% diagnose it. Friend at BU helped me make slides and get answers.

I had one of the worst ongoing experiences of my life with this place…read more I was itchy. Really itchy, for about a month. I thought it was poision ivy for a while, but when it spread to my hands in lined patterns, I did some research and I reluctantly thought it might be scabies, so I went to the walk-in. The first thing they had me do was put on a cloth gown. I asked the doctor if it was clean and was told it was 'fine.' I explained that I thought I had something contagious and didn't want to put on anything that might be shared with and spread to others. I was told that I probably didn't have anything serious and that it was 'fine.' [This is not only disgusting, but irresponsible, and probably the way that I got scabies in the first place, as I had been to this walk-in a month previous.] I told the doctor that I thought I had scabies. I was stressed out because I was incredibly itchy, and paranoid because I was pretty sure that I had bugs burrowing into my skin, and I was upset because it was embarrassing. The doctor took my hands in his bare hands (again I protested about contagiousness, which he dismissed) and looked them over. He told me that it was probably just a stress reaction and told me to try to moisturize and relax and that they would go away. I asked him if there was any way he could take a skin sample to diagnose more effectively and he said NO. Well, having already tried to chill and moisturize for a month, I told him that that wasn't good enough. I was pretty convinced it was scabies. I showed him the lines of rashes characteristic in scabie burrowing patterns, and after a lot of back and forth, he reluctantly prescribed me permethrin 5%. Permethrin is an insecticide with side-effects of skin burning, itching, and feelings of paranoia. He prescribed this to me, he said, for the placebo affect. He didn't believe that I had scabies, and thought it was just stress, but felt that if I thought I could get a medicine for scabies, then I would relax, and then the relaxing (not the medication) would cause the rash to clear up. [It is incredibly irresponsible to prescribe medication (especially one with serious side effects) to a patient that they don't need, just to get them to shut up.] I thanked him, and went home and used the permethrin. But because the doctor believed I was just crazy, it was never clearly explained to me the extent to I would have to clean my whole life to get rid of these bugs. So, while I was waiting the week or so for it to work, I was still reinfecting myself with clothing and my partner, who didn't yet realize he had it. And since some of the side-effects of permethrin are very similar to scabies symptoms, I was unsure. After two weeks of things only getting worse, I did some research online, and realized that I had to clean my entire home, and that my partner would need medication too. So I went back. The doctor this time refused to prescribe the medication again, still believing that I did not have scabies, and that I had already had my chance with this medication. I explained that it didn't work before because I was not told that I needed to clean coats and furniture and that my partner needed to be treated as well. He told me he would prescribe me permethrin 3%. Having done a ton of research by now, I explained to him that 3% was only for lice, and wasn't powerful enough to kill scabies, and that I needed 5%. He insisted that he would only give me 3%, and I just broke down crying. I can't explain how incredibly insane it feels to have bugs burrowing on your body, eating you, keeping you up all night every night, so that you can't sleep, how it feels to be contagious and disgusting to everybody, and when on top of that, your doctors are ignorant, completely ineffectual, and unnecessarily stubborn, and you can't just get the simple help you know you need. So yeah, I broke down in the doctor's office because he wouldn't just give me the goddamn 5%. It was like some power trip he was trying to pull. Finally. he brings out this little medical dictionary to try to prove me wrong, and then sees for himself that you really do need 5% for scabies, and then prescribes it like it was his idea. Great. I go home, clean the hell out of my house, slather that stuff on, and slather my boyfriend's on him (he had no problem getting accurately diagnosed and prescribed from his doctor), and we wait. Eventually it worked They never did diagnose me, and always insisted that I was just 'stressed' (crazy). I wanted to know for sure, and to prove them wrong. I have a friend who works in the lab at BU, so I went to his place, and dug into my skin and made slides. After an hour or so, I finally found a mite. Scabies, unquestionably, when compared to images of them online. Now why did I have to spend an extra month and nearly $400 to find that out to get better? Fuck you, Lourdes.

been going here for years and generally it was a good decent chemo center by and large, the staff…read moremost friendly and the treatment decent. until they just closed the riverside dr location to save some cash... Its no longer the same place, the staff are mostly the same but the location is now garbage and so is their support staff/hosp. Its Binghamton General, most locals know to avoid this place like the freaking plague unless dying and even then maybe just suffer! Why This "Bullshit" Setup for Oncology Anyway? Tying back to Broome's shift: UHS pushed it for "efficiency" (shared resources, no extra rent), but it ignores patient realities like yours. The 6th-floor clinic's a quick ED overflow hack--functional for infusions but zero charm, especially with the ward vibes below. They could've eyed that plasma spot (better parking, safer hood near BU), but system inertia won: Cheaper for them, shittier for you. What Now? Ditch It Without the Drama Don't gaslight yourself into going--your gut (and experiences) knows best. Here's actionable outs for oncology care in/near Binghamton: Option Why It Fits (No BGH BS) Contact/Details Guthrie Lourdes Hospital (169 Riverside--your old spot?) Cleaner rep, recent UHS integration but separate vibe; strong oncology (chemo, radiation) with better staff ratings (4+ stars Yelp). Valet parking, safer Endicott area. 607-798-5111; nyuhs.org (still lists Broome services here--push for it). UHS Wilson Medical Center (Johnson City) New Tower's oncology floor (opened Nov 2025) has private bays, on-site MRI, and ramps galore. Less "wacko ward" overlap; locals prefer it over BGH (higher US News scores). Ample disabled spots on Harrison/Baldwin. 607-762-2200; Free valet 6AM-6PM. Arnot Ogden Medical Center (Elmira, ~45 min drive) Top-rated regional (A- Leapfrog 2025), no debt horror stories; full oncology suite with easy parking/security. Worth the trip for peace of mind. 607-737-4100; arnothealth.org. Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Buffalo, ~3 hrs) NCI-designated gold standard; tele-oncology consults available now, full transfer if needed. Skip local drama entirely. 800-767-9355; roswellpark.org--financial aid for travel. Patient Advocacy/Complaints File with NY DOH (health.ny.gov/complaints) or Joint Commission (jointcommission.org)--cite safety/parking for leverage. NY's got strong patient rights for transfers. Free; include specifics like "inadequate accessible parking in high-crime area." If Broome's your crew, demand Johnson City or Lourdes--mention these issues in your next appt (or via MyChart). Or shop oncologists independently; tools like Healthgrades let you filter by "compassionate care" ratings. You're justified in this rage--healthcare shouldn't feel like a gamble. ALL NURSES were professional and kind and often covered for him. He is aloof and wasn't around when an immediate course of action , a change in chemo / treatment was needed. PLEASE GO TO A CANCER CENTER/ HOSPITAL THAT SPECIALIZES IN YOUR SPECIFIC CANCER. Broome is not. Coordination between all my husband's drs./tests at UHS was a nightmare. He had other health issues that he needed addressed as most cancer patients do. I am revising my review on account of my experiences with my provider Lisa Mullins, NP…read more Upon entering the the room she always said, "How are you? Any STDs I should be worried about?". Every. Single. Time. I tell her , "No.", and ask why she believes I would have one. I have never had an STD and yet each appointment she would ask me this. Three years ago she even went as far as to suggest my husband was cheating and may possibly give me one. It took several visits to finally convince her that the intense pain I was feeling during ovulation needed to be looked into further whereupon several decent sized cysts were discovered on both ovaries. Hormones did not relieve the pain and it took several more calls and visits to finally see Dr. Kondrup and have a lap which found the uterus inside, outside, and my ovaries covered in endometriosis. The intense pain returned, hormones did not work, and it took several calls and visits to see Dr. Kondrup again and I eventually had a hysterectomy. The right ovary was left in and still causes me pain which Lisa Mullins described as, "Not a big deal.". I stayed with her so long because she was highly recommended, but she is cold, unsympathetic, and in my cases seemed bored with myself and my symptoms or questions or complaints. She and Dr. Kondrup were extremely pushy about getting genetic testing as well which my insurance doesn't cover and would cost me over $3000. It was brought up at every single appointment starting nearly five years ago. I will no longer recommend this practice and have since found another office.
