Came out quick Had a Caesar salad prior it was good no wow factor. Had a baked potato ans mashed potatoes Mashed potatoes are unlike any I ever had! AMAZING! Baked potato was very good too- Service was exceptional Their dinner rolls are to die for!!! Place was packed!! Small location! But amazing food We sent the shrimp back- it was the scampi - needed salt, had no flavor - needed more bitter and more garlic - When it came back- it was almost the same as when we sent it back. It's ok Steak and service made up for it !! I ordered the crème brûlée for dessert. It was very good.! We would be back for sure !!!!!

We had the Crostini appetizer to start, and honestly, we did not like it. It was beautiful, but the bread was really soggy. Now the sourdough rolls are the best! Should have skipped the app. The garden salad with ranch was good. Our table had two New York Strips, which were cooked to perfection, as well as my Filet. Very tender! My daughter had the salmon, which was dry/overcooked, but had a good flavor. The baked potato & mashed potatoes were good. The Mac and Cheese was really good! The one thing I would suggest is to have a sea salt and pepper grinder on the table. Just regular salt and pepper is fine, but fresh would be better with a great steak and potatoes! Overall, we had a nice dinner and will probably be back.

The Vintage Press in Visalia is an absolutely classy restaurant with a beautiful, historic,…read moreold-school atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. From the moment you walk in, the entire place has an elegant, upscale feel that really sets it apart from your typical dining experience. One of the first things I appreciated was that the restaurant has its own private parking lot, which makes arriving and parking super convenient. When we arrived, there was a pianist playing live music upstairs, which added such a nice touch to the atmosphere. Between the historic decor, classic elegance, and live piano music, the entire restaurant has a sophisticated charm that's hard to find these days. The menu was excellent, with a great selection of dishes ranging from filet mignon to a variety of drinks and other fine dining options. The hostess was welcoming, our waiter was attentive and professional, and the service throughout the meal was great. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the overall experience was excellent. Definitely a great spot in Visalia if you're looking for a classy dinner, a special occasion, or just a really nice dining experience. Highly recommend!

Second time here. Had a 4pm reservation for our company celebration. They seated us immediately…read more Our servers were Julissa and Richard and they did a fantastic job. I appreciated how often they came to check up on us and brought us everything before we even asked for it. I tried the strawberry lemonade which was a little sour for my liking. The Caesar salad was absolutely delicious I love cheese and it had SO much 10/10. I didn't enjoy the lobster Mac and cheese as much as I had hoped. It felt more watery than cheesy. The mashed potatoes were creamy. The chicken was too salty for my liking but the shrimp was delicious. If you love shrimp like me you have to get the spicy shrimp appetizer 1000/10, wish I had gotten more. The lobster tail was also nice and buttery. And the cheesecake dessert was perfect to end the dinner. They accidentally gave me the regular cheesecake even though I asked for chocolate and they were nice enough to bring both. It was a lot of food so I did have some leftovers that they packed up for me. Overall the price was around $150 per person which I think is worth it for a nice quiet dinner. I appreciated that it wasn't too loud inside so we could comfortably talk at our table of 10. The food did take some time to come out but I enjoyed my salad and bread while I waited.

Much livelier and tastier than expected! -- First time happy hour, third lifetime dining…read moreexperience. We'd been eyeing the happy hour specials and finally had the cravings and opportunity to visit Ruth's Chris Steak House in Fresno for the first time. It's been over a decade since I've been to a Ruth's Chris! The previous time was for a surprise birthday celebration and the porterhouse steak was amazing. We came in for happy hour expecting something fairly low-key and ended up pleasantly surprised by how lively the bar felt and how satisfying the food was. The atmosphere is still polished and classic Ruth's Chris, but happy hour brings a more relaxed, social energy that makes it easy to stop in for drinks and bites without committing to a full steakhouse dinner. Since that first visit, we've gone back a couple more times, which probably says enough. One thing to know: the bar seating can fill up, especially during the more popular happy-hour window, so timing matters if you want to settle in comfortably. After being away from Ruth's Chris for so many years, this Fresno location reminded us why the name still carries weight. Happy hour turned out to be a great reintroduction -- lively, approachable and much tastier than expected.

Last evening, August 27th 2026, three of us had Dinner at Richard's. One of us is in a wheelchair,…read morewhich was Easily accomodated. The event started with prompt and courteous service by a Waaitperson who we had the pleasure of serving us upon previous visits. From Beverages to Food, the service was prompt and the Entrees and sides were Outstanding. This Restaurant has been in the same area for many years, and I have been patronizing Richard's for many years. It started out with my Brother Peter and I for lunch, two to three times a week. There are some changes to the layout, BUT the food remains Excellent. The prices are well within a range for a Restaurant that you enjoy going to for excellent meals.

2.5ish review incoming. I have mixed feelings about this…read moreplace. With so many other dynamite restraunts in town, I am not sure Richard's has much to brag about (comparatively) these days. I understand and respect their history, but that is not an excuse for them to continue to live in the past. It is bad enough their location has turned undesirable over the years, so they need to continue to improve aspects of the business to keep people coming in. There was a security guard at the entrance (FYI the entrance is in the back, so upon entering you are immediately greeted by the restrooms and the doors that show off the kitchen work space. Long story short, it makes for an awkward and uncomfortable start to your experience for a first timer). Anyways, the security guard was in the same place when we arrived (looking at his phone) and in the same place when we left (still looking at his phone). If someone messed with my car, which was out of sight slightly around the corner of the building close to Belmont, would he have noticed or cared? This question is sure to be up there with the ol timeless chicken or the egg quandry and the if a tree fell in a forest paradox) Positives: Their meats were good (we tried the prime rib, of course, and a bacon wrapped filet). No complaints there. I should mention I took my love and my momma for her bday. My mom enjoyed herself well enough. The service was good. The waitress humored my (sometimes annoying) mom (lmao) and the hostess was also nice, checking on us during the meal even. She brought my mom some ice cream at the end and led us in singing happy birthday, which was sweet. The main fault: the sides. They were so mundane it almost made the rest of the meal seem overpriced and lackluster. Sides should be something local or at least prepared. Instead it was some slop from a can or a warmer filled with hot liquid broth. It was like cafeteria food or the heated up veggies one might get during a hospital stay. Completely unacceptable quality if you want to maintain the allure of a fancy restraunt serving 40+ dollar cuts of meat. Rice was mediocre, mashed potatoes were decent but again probably a cost cutting side. So all in all, the food wasn't something to brag about. The interior has some nice paintings of bare chested ladies. As a champion for women, it seemed a little extreme that in my sight i could see 6 titties, but as a man, excluding my champion for women title, I thought it was great. However, being with my mom and my woman made this dichotomy even more perplexing. The strangest part of all of this was when I went in the men's restroom there wasn't another topless woman painting. Instead it was some old dude. Wth? That's when I relaized it was like the rest of the experience here - unique, a bit outdated, and all over the place. Still enjoyable, but also pretty sad and confusing.
