My reservation was taken by a well spoken receptionist who explained what to expect, all the way down to explaining that the five minute pre-treatment interview with the therapist would be in addition to the full 90 minute massage. Right Touch Massage is conveniently located on the back side of a small professional office complex. The reception area is small, but you are never more than a step from the shelf that has the free treats! The receptionist created pleasant talk while I waited for my appointment time. Before the treatment, Garrett took the time to ask me what I generally expect from a massage session, and what I hoped for from today's session. It is difficult to find a massage therapist who will find the right balance between a Swedish massage (not enough) and deep tissue (too much), but Garrett found the right balance. He even paused a short while into the session to ask if the pressure was OK. Garrett resolved the neck and back issues I wanted addressed, and the rest of the 90 minute massage was great too. As a first time visitor, they gave me a coupon for a discount on my next session, which was an unexpected bonus. I think you will enjoy the folks at Right Touch.

After my spinal fusion I was nervous to see a chiropractor, but I knew I really needed it and I'm so glad I went to Back Alley! * In the first visit, Dr. Don takes you to a separate private room to discuss your issues and needs without other clients overhearing. As a woman, I tend to be nervous to be alone in rooms with men I don't know, but Dr. Don was SO professional, and he left the door open as if he sensed my nervousness. He really hears you out and doesn't rush you - a rarity in the medical world * He works FAST and tells you what he's doing before/while he does it. He even tells you WHY he's doing what he's doing, which is cool for anyone interested in physiology. * Dr. Don chats with you and actually remembers the things you tell him. You can tell he's invested in his patients' lives and knows them well. * The place is clean and the receptionists are friendly. I thought the set-up was a little wonky at first, since it's one big open room with the chiropractic tables and I'm used to being in private rooms. I actually like and prefer this set-up. Something about it feels friendly. * Wait time is never too long, and you get in and out fairly quickly, even without an appointment.

Not to mention, his bedside manner is so friendly. If I don't come in for months on end, he still remembers me in a very personable way. He is so sweet and so is the co-owner/doctor... (Dr. Shipley) who is also amazing. Once I was walking and I slipped off the curb. The next day my back was totally out to where I could barely walk. Dr. Don was on vacation, so Dr. Shipley saw me and did something I never had done before. The result: I was totally fixed. So to sum up, both of these guys would be a good choice if you're needing some adjustment. Finally, one last note, they did move their office from near Costco on the north side of town, to the Oro Valley location. Since they moved in there, they do have an adjustment and that is shared with about eight other people. At first I didn't care for this, but since they are the only two in town that can get me back on track and in shape, I have adjusted to it :-).

I HAVE SEARCHED THE WORLD A MILLION TIMES OVER FOR MY ANDY BLUM & THEY ARE NOT TO BE PARALLELED…read more FOR REAL. I get massages weekly or bi-monthly. I work hard and I treat myself but I also need to take care of my body. I've been seeing Andy for about 10 years now. I saw her first in the Bay Area for severe carpal tunnel-esque complications from typing in my lower right hand/arm. After one session, it was gone and I've never returned to a wrist brace. I also suffer from teeth grinding/TMJ and she gave me special attention there which I had never experienced. Then a few years later I got hit by a car. She worked with me for two years after, realigned my body (mostly hips), and helped restore feeling in my lower back side after severe muscle, tissue, and nerve damage. I saw her for general massage after until she moved to Portland, Oregon. Luckily, I go to PDX often and have seen her there where she's still the best. She really has an unparalleled knowledge of anatomy and healing modalities/techniques. I have gone to fancy spas in St. Helena, Calistoga, San Francisco, Asheville, NYC, New Mexico, etc etc. She is THE ONE. A true healer. She listens to what you say, focuses on those areas, doesn't do filler nonsense- she works on you THE WHOLE time and is fully present, not just going through the motions. To this day, I feel cheated every time I get massaged by anyone else. Also, she is super safe and warm. My body relaxes around her and lets her in to do the healing. Magick heart and hands!

The massage Andy Blum gave me, and I do mean gave, it was truly a gift, was beyond amazing. It was so entirely intuitive, immersive, deep, consistent, & fluid. It was very much like having a warm, healing presence swim through your body. I was so comfortable during the entire experience I could have easily fallen asleep, but, I didn't want to miss a moment of it so I actually tried to stay awake! {okay--I drifted a few times-momentarily} I will be back, without a doubt!!
