You know how, when you want some work done around the house, you start researching companies. You get on Google, Yelp, etc. and read all the reviews. When you finally pull the trigger and make the decision on who to call, it is still a crap-shoot. Well, it was no crap-shoot this time. I hit the bullseye. I got tired of the hassel I was having with the poly-tubing drip system in my yard. I have a number of cactii and other plants that would cost a fortune to replace. So, I decided to get PVC installed and be done with it. For those of you who are DIY addicts and watch "fixit" TV, I like the professionalism of Mike Holmes (Holmes on Homes) or Dan Short (Fantomworks) or Maine Cabin Builders. They exhibit professionism and pride in the finished product. That's a long-winded way of saying that Sonora Sprinkler ranks right up there with the aforementioned TV professionals. They did the installation in roughly one day and you cannot tell that the work was ever done. The day after the work was completed, the company owner, Ryan, came out and verified every nozzle and flow-rate on every plant. He set the automatic system to deliver the proper amount of water to both the bush system and the cactus/tree system. The system has a warranty. Sonora Sprinklers is one of the best businesses we have had contact with since we've been in Arizona. Their performance is above expectations, from beginning to end. The work crew did a spectacular job putting in a new drip irrigation sprinkler system. They definitely knew what they were doing; professional, on time, and no mess afterwards. Darrel from Sonora Sprinkler came out because I was having a water hammer issue that I could not resolve. Although, everything seemed to be working properly, he knew exactly what the issue was. He tested the controller and found that it was failing and lost voltage under a load, causing intermittent power to the valves. Sonora Sprinkler grossly overcharges. $150 per hour First visit they replaced irrigation controller for $400. A new unit only costs $200. Second visit they replaced the top of a valve for $90. A completely new valve at Home Depot costs $20. They could have had me as a customer for the next 20 years. But they chose to gouge me instead.
