I recently moved to Sonoma from the Bay Area and have been trying to find a place to get a really good pedicure. I haven't been impressed with anywhere I've been so far. I don't usually write reviews, but I just had too. After a year and a half I finally found Sonoma Nails. Ive been asking everyone I know about where to go,.. a friend told me about this place. I had the best pedicure today that I have had in a really, really long time. It was so thorough with attention to detail, which is what really matters to me,.., but not only thorough, it was so relaxing as well, which was just an added bonus. Rude and terrible. They turned me away for a polish change. Don't say walk ins welcome, when they are not. Dirty and old.

I am so put off here. They do a fine job on nails so it is a shame. The man who works here keeps the tv blasting on Fox News. They kept showing Trump rallies. I asked him to please turn it to another channel or at least turn the sound off. He turned the sound down for about five minutes and turned it back up again. So rude and revolting. This is the ONLY place to get your nails done in Sonoma, I assure you. I've tried them all and I won't go anywhere else. I've been coming here twice a month for three years to get pink and white nails and a pedicure. Ann does the best pink and white you'll find anywhere and Kim does fabulous pedicures. My nails always look great. And if you ever have an ingrown toe nail, Ann can remove it for you without spilling a drop of blood. I bet I'm their pickiest customer...and the most appreciative. read more

I just recently moved to Sonoma and i had a bit of trouble finding a new nail place. I drove around town all day trying to get in somewhere and most places only take cash, or they don't do acrylics, or they don't do gel, something different at every place. It was so funky to me! I came across Sonoma nails which does everything and accepts both cash and card, so I called ahead of time in the morning (before I went driving around town) and they said they were super busy and could fit me in tomorrow. I would have been completely okay with that but I had an interview the next day! So that's when I went on a hunt to just get in somewhere-- no luck whatsoever and I went to about 4 other places.. I popped back into Sonoma nails just to see if they had any time to squeeze me in, hoping something came up but no luck. I told the lady about my interview and how I didn't want to drive to Napa just for nails so she took my information and said she'd call me if she could fit me in. 45 minutes later calls asking if I found another place which I replied with no and she asks me to come in. I realize when the other ladies start packing up she scheduled me knowing she would be working way passed close. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever.. Knowing she didn't HAVE to by any means! It made my heart feel all fuzzy! Not to mention my nails looked BEAUTIFUL. She really took her time on them, she wasn't just trying to get me out of there, which I appreciate sooo much. Now I bring my bestfriend with me and we get our nails done together! She lives in Napa but likes this place so much it's worth the drive for her :) My only advice would be to call ahead of time! They only have 4 nail chairs and I believe 4 pedi chairs, it's a tiny shop but they do an excellent job. My lady's name is Kim, she's amazing! I definitely recommend this place. My husband kidnapped me for a big birthday celebration so I had no time to get my nails and toenails done! The hotel we are staying at recommended this place and they were able to get me in 30 minutes after I called to make an appointment. The owner (American name is Ann) and her daughter-in-law (Kim) had me in and out in an hour but did meticulous work! Duck is the best! although a lady with glasses was really pushy , she never said excuse me and pushed around. I really recommend Duck.

Do not go here. 9:00am is not the opening time. That is when the owner "cleans the area." The sign on the door says 9:30, but the owner told me they can't see anyone until 5:00. Walk-ins are not welcome. I showed up at 9:00am and she said she could not see and literally pushed me out of the door. She told me to walk down the interstate to a nearby nail salon. Go to Maxwell nails. They are so nice, friendly and they do a superb job!! They even saw us 15 minutes before they were technically supposed to be open. Great selection of polishes, shellac mani/pedi is amazing. read more

Gel mani for $30. I was the last customer of the day and the massage happened at the end after nails were done for literally 15 seconds each on each hand. Is that normal? I will try other nail salons in town before I return. all in all I'm happy just happy to have my nails done! read more

This place is awful. The staff is rude and makes major mistakes, and not willing to correct them. I had a pedi which I was cut and bled..Another time, they wiped against the polish, leaving it ugly and bumpy.. The woman was angry that I wanted it redone. Also, they are not up to cleanliness standards.. I had to ask the employee to wash the basin. Terrible business...Go elsewhere!!!!! read more

I rarely write reviews, but had to in this case. I was recently in Sonoma visiting from Maryland to attend a wedding. The manicure I had from Maryland was awful and Sonoma Nails accepted me as a last minute walk-in. They did a tremendous job in providing me with a beautiful pedicure and gel manicure. The best I have every gotten. They were so friendly and worked with me to get the colors I wanted just right. They joined with me in cheering on the Capital's hockey final game that was on the TV. Here, 15 days later, my manicure still looks perfect. I am very grateful for this family for providing me with excellent professional service and wish their salon was in Maryland! After seeing the good reviews on Yelp, I decided to try out Sonoma Nails. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi and they were ready for me at the appointed time. The pedi started out good enough, but then the guy started telling me how tired and overworked he was. He went on and on. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. And anyway, how do you respond? Other people filed in with pre-set appts, who appeared to have wait 15 minutes or more to be seen. The mani was a disaster. He did it while I was in the pedi chair because there were no mani stations available. He cut the skin around my nails and it bled in two places. I asked for no polish but wanted a buff and he didn't do it. I didn't press for it because he just seemed incompetent. In the days following the skin was peeling around my nails and I had a hangnail type thing going on. On closer look, the pedi was messy. I won't be going back. read more

I re-booked a second visit after having a good experience there the first time. I had a full set of gel nails, a pedicure as well as an eyebrow waxing ($10) on my first visit. This facility is cleaner than most and is owner operated. She is the only nail person although she has an employee who does the waxing, pedicures, etc. She has never advertised and her business is strictly word of mouth. She shared that she has been at this location for 10 years. There are no bathrooms (only a hand sink) in her shop and the ones that the strip mall provides are very scary. I suggest going to the Palms restaurant, which is in the same area, if necessity calls. They use massaging pedicure chairs and while the decor is not alluring it is clean and comfortable. She speaks English well and used it exclusively while I was there. I have tried 2 other places in town and I prefer Sonoma Nails. The prices are fair, experience was good and she was knowledgeable and got me in and out in a little over and hour. :) Lani read more

I had my nails done for the last 5 years at numerous places from Wisconsin to California and by far Sonoma Nails is the best. Ann does my gel nails to perfection and they last for three weeks, Kim does my pedicure in their fabulous massaging chairs, again to perfection! I took my sister who does not like pedicures but said this was the best she ever had and not only that after seeing Ann's work got a set of gel nails herself! Have you ever been to a salon that has only 1/3 of the gelish colors that they actually have displayed? Well this is the place!!! Well after 8 attempts to get a certain colors, I asked 8 different times 8 different colors and did not have any!!! Seriously??!!!! i said screw this I'm getting regular polish!! Seriously what kind of nails salon is this? Lacks most gel colors that's they say they "have". Go spend your money where they actually have most of their gel colors in stock. read more

This place is great. Perfectly air conditioned on a 100 degree day (I went to two other salons that should have saunas) amazing customer service (got us in on 45 mins notice) and the pedicure was wonderful. I found my new spot in Sonoma. read more

I have been to every single nail salon in Sonoma and this one is by far the best. They always take me with or without an appointment, are very clean and nice. The shellac is the best I've ever had and their pedicures last a whole month practically!!!! Don't go to maxwell nails down the street! They are inconsistent and want you in and out.
