The acoustics in the building are so atrocious that, if there's music in one event room, people can't hear the speaker or each other in the other gathering room. So I found some clean, undamaged foam boards and asked whether they'd like them. They said yes, and I brought them in to cover the glass door to one of the rooms. Then someone they'd known longer came along and opined that SEEING styrofoam would cause people to buy it, and they threw it into the dumpster. So now they still have rotten sound, and those foam boards will be leaching toxins into the ground until Earth falls back into the sun.

We ended up leaving part way through to find dinner, and upon returning there was no parking anywhere, even on the street. This is a great problem to have, I think, because it proved the turnout and support of a community this dedicated, even in a small space. Regardless, we ended up parking 7 blocks down and walking, which proved to be a challenge once the event was over and was dark with no street lights. Overall quite the venue, and such a great asset to the City of Sebastopol!

There's a youth leadership program which just helped put on a picnic downtown for Trans Day of Visibility, which was a pretty cool event. The Sonoma space is a really cool old house with gorgeous decorations inside (I think mostly thanks to VOICES, which is the shared space run for/by foster youth ages 16-24) and the staff members are friendly. It's a great place both for resources and for meeting people. There's parking behind the building and un-metered spots on the surrounding few blocks (I mention because stress about this kept me from stopping by the first time). Check the website to see what's up before you go, there's a pretty thorough calendar (and looking that up I just saw that there's a Sonoma Valley location too? Today I learned).

They've significantly upgraded the facilities- there's a kitchen, the main area is spacious&bright, and there are clean public restrooms. It used to be a bit of an eyesore beside the Sharpsteen Museum- now it's a pleasant pit stop. Interesting trivia- The thing that looks like a yellow fire hydrant in the parking lot is a capped geyser. An ordinary fate for an extraordinary natural feature.

The slogon for this town is "the friendly city" this city is by far more rude and the people are more on edge than in Santa Rosa or any nearby cities. This city is not friendly and people are selfish, I just got honked at cuz I rightfully stopped for a cop with his emergency lights on, then got cut off. When I confronted the person they called me slurs and spit on me. This is one of many rude instances that ive encounterd in this city. Do not live here, do not come here. People in oakland are more friendly then here I would give this town a 0.3 stars out of 5 if I could. I hate this town with a burning passion and I have no money to move out, I'm stuck paying rent here

I…read morehappen to remember that the Windsor Senior center had a pool so we decided to check it out. For five dollars each we were able to enjoy the pool from 11 to 2 o'clock. There was plenty of seating. The pool was not too crowded and the temperature of the water was perfect. I highly recommend this place but please don't all go there because we don't want it to get too crowded lol
