The staff at this location are fabulous! Dr. Rak is personable and loves Taylor Swift! lol No pain at all during surgery. Dr. Rak called the next day to make certain I was doing ok and told me to call him directly of I had any issues. So far I've had a great experience. I had my one-week post-op check today. Very black and blue and very swollen. All is expected and normal though so that is good to hear. I can move more and massage etc. I am 69 years of age and a diabetic so it may take me a little longer than most to heal. I scheduled my 3 months check in and then will decide when to have the sides and flanks done. I am taking a slower roll with this. I want to see how I heal. If I do well, I may schedule for next month. We'll see. But overall, these folks are great! If I can update this, I will when I have my next appointment in November. read more

READING THIS COULD SAVE YOU OVER $25,000. I've posted MORE details of my experience on Google & Birdeye for you; not enough room here to describe MY WORST MEDICAL EXPERIENCE EVER. I will always regret my decision to stay in the consult appt. after I told Jamie Bryon that I was scheduled to work 7 days/wk [educating children] & she responded, "Well how is THAT going to work?" in a rude tone & she showed her displeasure of me reading the paperwork. I thought I would only have to deal w/ 1 rude person @ this co. I was wrong. She said I would need lipo on my upper abs. She also claimed that having lipo on my hips "would help with the fullness" in my lower abdomen {my main concern}. Nope. My lower abs still stick out further than my upper abs. DR. GARY BROWNSTEIN called me "OBESE" & YELLED @ me when I didn't have my clothes on during the 1st appt. w/ him. He said, "I'm going to make you look dangerous". HE DIDN'T. At my 1st f/u appt. he also DIDN'T take the tape off of the incisions before he RUSHED OUT to go do another procedure. He DIDN'T tell the nurses to remove it; they DIDN'T remember it from prev. exp. to do it, AND they DIDN'T follow their office protocol when I told them there is a hole in my abd. w/ red drainage. The DR.'s behavior showed my appts. for treatment were an inconvenience to him. He didn't change the abd. dressing 239 times...I did. The DR. was HIGHLY IRRITATED I was asking my questions. He was making condescending & demeaning comments multiple times; so unsupportive. He YELLED @ ME to "STAND UP STRAIGHT!" when I was bent over IN PAIN after the upper & lower abs lipo AND skin removal surgery with 2 INCISIONS - I was there to be evaluated because I had what looked like a white piece of plastic in my abd. I googled some questions to avoid his ire. I didn't know a lot about the procedure; I thought they would tell me everything I NEEDED/wanted to know. THEY DIDN'T. RealSelf.com appeared in my email. There, I found out a pt. should get at least 3 consults (5 is better) WITH SURGEONS to make sure you get the correct procedures performed. The Sono Bello staff & DR. withheld info. about the correct procedure that would have addressed my abdominal issues including it is better for pts. to be within 10-15 lbs of their goal weight before abd. procedures. Some drs. even recommend 5 lbs. Since he used a vertical incision as well as a horizontal incision for the skin removal, the infection got so bad due to their lack of treatment, it made the vertical scar completely open. With 2 x /day dressing changes it took ~ 4 months to close & left an unsightly scar. I couldn't listen to Taylor's song Blank Space without getting upset. I asked DR. B to fix it. He said, "IF IT OPENS UP, YOU'LL BE DEALING WITH ALL THAT CRAP AGAIN!!" I was hoping he wouldn't YELL AT ME AGAIN today. In front of MAGGIE, R.N., (1 of the nurses who didn't remove the tape & who YELLED AT ME @ a previous appt.), he asked me, "Does anyone else see it?" [the scar] in an uncaring tone. Since I pd. for the procedure, I don't think this should matter. I am expecting to get the "best possible result" because this statement is on a paper they gave me signed by DR. BROWNSTEIN. THEY DIDN'T. He has me lie on the table uncovered and says, "WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT IT!?!" in an irritated tone. As he is standing to the left of my body, he grabs the bikini bottom garment I'm wearing and FORCEFULLY PULLS THEM DOWN, lower than necessary ~ 6 inches lower than the horizontal scar. He instructs MAGGIE to take a picture, she does not readjust the garment to preserve my dignity. (Again, they are NOT treating me with respect, consideration, and dignity at all times as promised on The Patient Rights & Responsibilities paper they gave me on 6/7/22. The only way I can describe this is EXCRUCIATINGLY UNCOMFORTABLE. He & DONNA seem to hate me. I am devastated that he won't fix the ugly scar [w/ a scar revision], loose skin on my abdomen AND my asymmetrical waist. Before I leave, I ask him for more info. from my chart. He is READING SO FAST, I am having difficulty writing it. He gets to the part that mentions dehiscence & then he says, "You remember dehiscence?" in a taunting tone. I nod yes, trying not to cry. He was standing on my R side & it sounded like he leaned in closer to my R ear when he said it, but I was looking at my notebook trying to write everything he was saying. I was thinking about their Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Christopher Chung's email sent to me on 4/24/22 stating in part, "Each of our physicians is a seasoned expert who cares about your health and satisfaction." During this visit & at other appts., Dr. Gary Brownstein's behavior, words, & tone showed HE DID NOT CARE about my health or satisfaction. Every time I listen to Taylor Swift's song MEAN, I can't help but think of DR. GARY BROWNSTEIN. On 11/26/25, I found out to surgically fix {to get a better result} the condition Sono Bello left me in is going to cost $22,144.00. read more

I started my journey in july of 2025. I was really excited about finally, getting rid of this belly fat. So on my pre, op, I spoke to the nurse, and she said that I should avoid salt on the day of surgery, or I would regret. I was not told that I should go on a starvation.Diet or i would gain weight. I went back for my one week.And I had lost two pounds, i went back for my 4 week. And I had gained 3 pounds. Still, no one said starve yourself to death.Only that I should continue to do what I do.And wear my compression. Now we are two months in still gained more weight fluids.It's what I was told, but never to watch my food intake. Third month appointment still more weight. So I begin to do a little research of my own.That i'm supposed to go into a calorie deficit in order for this to work. Isn't sonobella supposed to take out the fat?I've never been a big eater.So I don't underst and what the issue is. Now i'm at my nearly six months point, i absolutely hate the way I look. I have a lump on the left side and kind of a shelf on my hip. My stomach is hard. This swelling never goes down. And I still sometimes wear my compression. So I do not recommend going to sonobelo. I decided to go to Sono Bello for Laser Liposuction. I met Dr Femovich who was off putting and arrogant, yet I continued down the road because the price was right and the timing worked. I went back a second time because I wasn't 100% comfortable and subsequently called to say that I wanted to pivot from one of the three areas we had discussed to another. I was told explicitly that that conversation would take place the day of the procedure. When I arrived, I wanted to confirm that I would speak to the surgeon prior to having sedation. I also wanted my husband in the exam room. Both requests were met with hesitation, but upon my insistence granted. The doctor came in very angry, was dismissive to my husband and short tempered with me. He asked me to disrobe, and I started to explain what my expectation was, and he became incensed. In short, he said, I'm the doctor and I'll decide and then went into a tirade about not doing the procedure today actually not doing it ever, got up and walked out. I'm an executive and this kind of demeaning #me-too bullshit is not acceptable. He needs to be disbarred. Do not ever go to see Dr. Femovich. if you do a little more research than I did, you will see your outcome will be a disaster. read more

I made an appointment with Sono Bello both nervous and excited about the potential of becoming more confident about my appearance. I had gastric bypass years ago and was hoping to "smooth out" some lumps and bumps left after the weight loss. The office staff was friendly and helpful. After speaking with the nurse and surgeon I scheduled a procedure for lipo on my hips, thighs and knees. These are areas that have made me very self conscious since losing the weight previously. No amount of diet or exercise was able to help me change those areas. The surgeon was very thorough and listened to my concerns regarding my end results. He explained the procedure and made me feel confident I'd love my new look. Jennifer, the RN, guided me through the entire process from pre-op to post-op with patience and understanding. No one made me feel uncomfortable or pressured. They worked with me to answer all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure, the recovery and the final outcome. Sono Bello took me from fairly nervous and excited to ecstatic about my results. I'm only about a month post-op but I can already see I no longer have the "muffin top" that made me uncomfortable in my clothes. My outer and inner thighs are smoothing out already with less bumps and dimples. To feel more confident in my own skin was my goal and I can already tell I wont be disappointed. The procedure itself was short, outpatient and fairly easy. While I won't lie and say it was painless; it was certainly manageable and something I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. The recovery was minimal, and if you listen to what they tell you (getting up and moving fast and wear your compression garments) it will be swift. I had my procedure on a Sat afternoon. I was off any pain medication but Tylenol by Sunday. Monday I worked from home and Tues I was back to full daily routine. While still tender and swollen it didn't inhibit my ability to work or go about my day. Honestly, if you're on the fence about making a change or taking the leap to correct things that might make you self conscious, I'd make an appointment with Sono Bello. The office staff will make you comfortable and set realistic expectations for what can be achieved. Iwas pleased with my experience and continue to be happy with my results. 6 month update-I saw Dr Christopher Vashi again for my final check up. I'm six months post op. My recovery was exactly as described by the Sono Bello team. My results are still very positive. While I still have some lumpiness from extra skin in places due to my gastric bypass (it is what it is), I choose not to have skin removal surgery on my legs. The procedure with Sono Bello made things so much better that I actually packed shorts for my beach vacation this year - first time since 2005. My knees are a LOT better, obviously considering the shorts comment. My thighs are much smoother than they were and my muffin top is completely gone. I'm a 5'1, 120 pound, 42 year old. I didn't have weight loss as my goal, just a more confident attitude toward my appearance. Dr. Vashi helped me achieve this. I not only highly recommend Sono Bello, I HIGHLY recommend Dr Vashi as the one to complete the procedure. I'm sure the other surgeons are great but my experience was with Dr Vashi. I could not be happier with my results. I am about 1 month post-op. The pain has been minimal I have been active since day 1 post-op (not working out but I went back to work). I started working out 1 week post-op. I think that has been the biggest reason I had so little pain. They will rip you off! I told them before hand that I have asthma! They said no problem before my procedure. I arrive on time and get ready to do it! They check my pulse ox and then all of a sudden they can't do it! They said pulse ox to low and to see my Doctor! I was just at the Doctor in October and everything was normal! I see a respiratory specialist! These people tried to make me feel like it was my fault and maybe I needed a CPAP! I do not need one and my Doctor said, since they don't have the proper equipment on site, such as oxygen! She would not be comfortable with me having the procedure done by them! They said they would refund my down payment and I still haven't gotten it back. I would not go there, if you have any health issues at all! I also found out they settled a wrongful death lawsuit! I found the Westerville location on line and went in for the consultation. It was clear to me that the initial consultation is not with a medical professional/doctor (I read reviews where others felt surprised that they did not meet a doctor for the initial consultation). I met with my consultant, Kim, and she was very energetic & well spoken. Looking at the before and after pictures I was convinced that SonoBello would not be able to help me. She asked to see my problem area, I did and immediately she told me that SB could help me and she brought out another book of before and after pictures of women like me. We discussed the procedures, what to expect and prices (it is not inexpensive) and after she gave me the quote & I did say I wanted to speak about the procedure with my boyfriend. There was no pressure to make a decision. She gave me her number & I promised to call in a few days. I took a few days to make my decision and that following Tuesday I made the appointment to meet the surgeon. I read all the information Kim gave me and had a lot of questions written down for when I met that medical staff. My surgeon was great, Dr. Vasi (I believe I spelled his name correctly) and the medical assistants were all very nice and did their best to make me feel comfortable. Let's be honest, wearing a plastic bikini is not a relaxing experience and yet I was OK. We talked about the procedure, discussed my medical history and did vitals. Procedure was scheduled for a week out. During the appointment with the surgeon, I met with Kim beforehand and was given all the information on what to do before the surgery, the day off and after. What things to have at home, my prescriptions and what to expect after the procedure. The day of my procedure the surgery schedule was running really behind (I was warned in advance that this could happen). I had lipo and excess skin removed from my abdomen. During the procedure (about 4 hours) I was awake for some of it. As the surgeon was finishing and putting in the final stitches, I could feel a little bit and the surgical nurse actually held my hand! That spoke volumes to me and when she did that, I no longer felt the stitches. Next thing I remember, I am being put into my binder and going home. I had no issues during the procedure and spoke with the surgeon while he was working on me. A note on the surgery...the procedure was done at the SB office, they have an ambulatory care center and it appeared like a hospital. I had a minor surgery at a local hospital over a year ago and I was impressed at how much the SB center was like the hospital OR room. It was pretty late when I got home and fell asleep very quickly. The next day there was pain. I have been told that I have a high pain tolerance. The first couple days hurt but bearable. It was days 5-10 where I was very sore and tender where the lipo was done. Be prepared for that pain if you have the same procedure. When I would go to stand up it felt like someone was pulling me apart at the waist. It was really days 10-11 where I started to feel like myself again. I also had about 3 days of depression, like, "what did I do to myself" -it is not pretty when you take your first shower and see all the bruising. Even though I did a lot of research and had ALL my questions answered beforehand...you do not know what you don't know...I had many questions after, when in pain, that I never thought to ask before...I called the office a few times and spoke with Jen, the nurse and she was so patient with me and answered all my questions in great detail. I was even concerned about my steri strips and I actually went back to the office to see her to have her check them. She was great, so nice, so caring and reassuring. It has been almost 6 weeks since my procedure and I am seeing results, very excited at what the final product will look like. You can see a visible difference. I just started working out again, and what a difference when doing pushups and your lower belly is not hitting the floor before you even attempt one pushup! Kim told me this would change my life and it has. The ladies at the front desk are all very nice. Kellee is fantastic and I wish I could remember the front desk ladies names as they are both super friendly and personable. I waited this long to write this because I wanted to make sure what SB promised would happen is happening and only being 6 weeks out (full results take approx. 6 months). Would I do this knowing what I know now? YES. SB was great. Only detraction is that SB appointments & procedure time can run late (just like any doctor's office) and at least, in my case, I experienced more pain that I thought I would. Also make sure that you have a solid support system of people around you if you have the same procedure I had because while recovering your mind runs through tons of emotions. I had my procedure done a little over a week ago. I had my upper and lower abdomen done including the EX procedure, where they cut off the loose skin. I also had my back rolls and upper hips done. Reading all of the bad reviews from other Sonobello facilities in other states is quite disheartening. Although I feel bad for the patients who had bad experiences, what about those patients who have good results? Working in a sales position prior, most people comment on what "was bad" but not the good aspects of their experience. When a person is looking into ANY type of medical procedure, I am hear to say "DO YOUR HOMEWORK!" There are risks involved in ALL procedures and a person needs to understand this BEFORE having anything done! A person needs to research the facility, staff, doctor and, most importantly, the procedure itself. There are NO guarantees on ANY medical procedure....it is a risk a person personally takes themselves. I can, in all honesty, say that so far my experience was good. The sales tactics used ARE high pressure, however, I had already made my mind up BEFORE meeting with her so I was prepared. My doctor was more than informative! He told me UPFRONT that I may not achieve the results I was looking for and the procedure was NOT painless. He informed me of everything to expect, what not to expect and what he could and could not do for me personally. During the procedure, he talked to me continuously and I was able to watch the fat that was taken out of my body. The pain medicine was not enough during the procedure so I mentioned that to the doctor.....he did not hesitate to give me more so I would be more comfortable. Reading all of the negative reviews on here does put some fear in me, however, it was MY choice to have this done and I can only hope for the best. I can say I noticed a difference immediately and am looking forward to the swelling subsiding and the final result. I DO KNOW it will take time and will be up to ME to maintain the results. I was informed before the procedure that my weight would not change much .... and I feel I now have a responsibility to work on maintaining my results by changing my eating and lifestyle habits. For anyone considering this procedure.....DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST and realize it is not a MIRACLE PROCEDURE....it is up to us individually to make changes for lasting results. The procedure during and after is painful....but it would be painful whether a person chooses Sonobello or another facility.
