Looks good until you realize no onion straws and they ran out of dressing. Other than that whatever?

Tonight was a very different experience in a very positive way. To make sure everything went well, we ordered at the takeout window as opposed online. I think it was a great choice at least for us. And by the way you can order online safely - I think. 5 star service, the person who took our order was very attentive to detail to make sure she got the order right. Which, given the three dinners we were ordering, and all the changes we made, was no easy task. All the food was very enjoyable. I sampled some of everyone's. Two things I particularly enjoyed were the ribs and I love their cornbread. My brisket was excellent as well! Our next visit will be a dine-in. Stay tuned for another review.

Yum yum! Sonny's! We miss our Plant City store but I travel for work so I'm lucky to get to eat at Sonny's Bbq frequently! Protein! Yessss! Today we shared the 3 pork special for 17.99 it was amazing. Lola was our server and she was awesome too! Fast & friendly! She was very helpful too! We highly recommend this location and all of them!

Let me start by first saying we have visited this location for years and today may have been the final issue that changes that. My plate was the 2 meat $15.99 with a +2 for brisket and +4 for Baby Back ribs for a $22 plate. Then the picture below arrives, I told the waitress to take it back and either give me better ribs not bones or take them off and give me double brisket for -$2 less. She comes back with the same plate and 2 extra slices of brisket and said my manager is coming by. He shows up and asked what the issue was and I explained and he said he "wanted to do me a favor" and swap out the ribs and I told him I already sent this plate back because of the ribs and you sent it back to me with 2 extra slices of brisket to "make up" for the trash ribs. As a paying customer and paying extra for the ribs & brisket, all I wanted is what I was paying for. If this is the standard now since the new owners took over, it looks like I will we be going to the Z'hills location from now on. So disappointing

This place is ok but what you expect for fast food bbq. Sandwiches were dry but still pretty tasty. Don't forget to grab sauces as that would help.

    Fatty brisket

I love Sonny's. However, today I ordered their brisket. Everything I've ever had there was delicious. But the brisket was mostly fat. It was awful. They should probably take it off the menu before it ruins their reputation.

I ordered the Chicken katsu from the special menu, and it completely blew me away. I swapped the white rice for brown rice. It was some of the best brown rice I've ever had. The texture was spot-on, perfectly cooked with a pleasant flavor. The chicken itself had a satisfying crunch from the coating, and the vegetables were fresh, crisp. The green onion garnish was a plus. It was better than what I found at many dedicated Japanese or Korean restaurants. The portion was generous; I had leftover to take home for lunch the next day. I downloaded their app ahead of time, which scored me a free slice of cheesecake- large, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. I liked the complimentary bread. The black loaf was my personal favorite. Our server deserved a special shoutout. He was the definition of professional -- attentive, warm, and never missed a beat despite how busy the restaurant was. He clearly earned every dollar of his tips fair and square. The restaurant itself was very busy, even at lunchtime, -with a mix of tourists and locals. The building is modern and fresh, with both indoor and outdoor seating and a sleek, contemporary décor. The menu is expansive, truly something for everyone. And their happy hour offers discounted food and drinks, which is a fantastic bonus. I remembered the first time ate at Cheesecake factory 30 some years ago at Cocowalk in Coconut Grove, Miami. Their food was delicious back then. It's still awesome now. And after this visit, it's easy to see why it continues to thrive.

For example they offer three different kinds of vodka with Tito's being one of them. It's on the fourth floor of the hotel with a view of the western sky for sunsets along with the sports fields. We kiddingly said parents could sit up here with alcohol in hand and cheer on their kids way below on the field. Seating: inside they have bar seating with about seven chairs. There is a single TV at the far left of the bar (see pic), so this is not ideal to watch sports on TV. No sound or closed caption. Outside it is just plain hot this time of year until the sun goes down. They have fans but for some reason they weren't on and the temp was 95. There were a couple people sitting outside but they didn't last long. Around sunset I'm sure this is the place to be. There are multiple sofas and areas to sit outside. Also a large Jenga stacking block game is available to play. There are at least two larger TVs outside. The parking lot indicates parking should be paid for. There are numerous signs with giant QR codes to do this. Since we were only there for an hour to grab a single drink we didn't pay for parking. When there are large tournaments going on at the neighboring sports complex I'm sure the hotel does a better job at patrolling who parks at the hotel and maybe then expects parking to be paid for. Drinks: happy hour is from 5p (when they open) to 7p. There is no happy hour menu (this would be a suggestion to make things easier on both the bartender and the customer). We were there at happy hour so took advantage of $8 white sangria and $8 cranberry with house vodka. They also give 10% off to locals. They normally have cards they provide for future use, but the bartender indicated they ran out and were on order. Food: There is a few food choices, including a smash burger and appetizers. They also had a couple cake slices on special. We didn't eat so can't speak to quality or time before ready. Service was average. There was only one bartender at 5:30p on a Wednesday with no sports going on at the complex. We got our drinks fairly quickly. They were tasty but served in small cocktail glasses and not much alcohol. For happy hour discounted pricing this is commonplace. I will be back to try it again, hopefully for a sunset this time!

The More Cheese is a flatbread topped with garlic sauce, mozzarella, Gouda, white cheddar, parmesan, fried parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes. I asked for mine without red pepper flakes. For the Breakfast Potatoes, I questioned if they had peppers in them. Neli and the kitchen made sure they did not put them in. Both were absolutely delicious! The flatbread was perfectly cheesy, the crust was thin and not hard, and the fried parsley was a great addition! The Breakfast Potatoes were crispy and I loved the flaky sea salt on them! A bartender greeted me and gave me water. For my drink, I took the chocolate old fashioned (13 dollars). It was strong enough and chocolatly to enjoy. For my main plate, I chose the chicken wings (10 for 17 dollars), half fat rabbit sauce (quite garlicky) and other half siracha. While the wings were not breaded, they were still fried. It was definitely crispy, but still meaty and tender. The sauces were flavorful, and the siracha had the right amount of heat. The ranch dressing was homemade and so good, I ended up drinking it. There could have been more celery, but it was fresh and crispy. They only had one dessert, and unfortunately it wasn't homemade, so I passed. My bartender was friendly, but busy. She had a helper, but lots of patrons to serve. Yet, she was still very nice and helpful when needed. The vibe is social and casual. I would have thought they would have more USF students, but mostly locals who are enjoying a good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available as well, and it looks like you can bring your pooch too. When it was time to check out and pay, I noticed they forgot to charge me for my drink. When I mentioned that, they told me not to worry about it. It was a very nice gesture from them. Parking here is easy as it is located in the Publix complex. There is also a Don Julio's and Bundt Cakes nearby for dessert too. The Fat Rabbit pub provides great casual bar food in a social atmosphere. The indoor dining is large enough to feel comfortable, and outdoor seating is also there if you want to enjoy with your dog. Title: Disappointing birthday dinner; didn't live up to the hype…read more We visited Rare 1981 for the first time to celebrate my aunt's birthday, drawn in by reviews comparing it to nice restaurants in downtown Tampa. While the drive through the community was pleasant, the arrival process was confusing. The restaurant is tucked away in the back with zero signage, and we actually left the check-in line thinking we were in the wrong place, only to have to loop back for valet. The atmosphere felt more like a generic wedding venue or clubhouse than a high-end restaurant. While the staff was pleasant and the complimentary birthday dessert was a nice touch, the food was a major letdown. Two guests ordered Mahi Mahi that arrived incredibly dry and one ordered a Ribeye that was overcooked. My wife and I ordered Filets (medium and medium-rare), but both were significantly undercooked--the medium was essentially raw. We made the best of it thanks to the wine we brought ($25 corkage fee), but at $140 per person, the value just wasn't there. We didn't complain at the time because we knew we wouldn't be returning. If you're looking for a true premier steakhouse experience, this isn't it.
