Took a ride to Woodland as the Sonic Drive-In at Delta Shores still has long lines. Our first time at Sonic and didn't know what to do. We drove up to one of the different drive ups and very easily ordered two of the Real Fruit Strawberry Slush! Jake brought our order out and very nicely went back in and took care of our payment. Sonic, where rollerskates and car hop service is still existing!! (Disclaimer....Not all runners use skates, but some do!!) Had the sonic bug lately. Been coming the last few weeks since it's almost summer and we already got hit with that +100° degrees days. Parking is kinda tight depending on your vehicle size. But they also have outdoor seating so you can park on the side and have some outdoor seats, or stick to the vehicle and keep the AC during the summer. Or for a quickie hit up the drive-through. When ordering i used a few different spots and it seems that most or all of the speaker give them bad hearing cause the speakers are blown or damaged they said. But you can hear them fine. Just pay attention to the screen before your done just to make sure they have the order correct. The screen is touch screen so you can scroll through the deals on it or when ordering scroll up or down to look at it. If you need ketchup or sauces ask prior to finishing the order, car hops do not bring any with them and will have to wait till they come around again. They do have restrooms, just ask for the code. They have some of the best tater tots around, golden delicious straight up or even go for the chili tots. Slushes, limeade, sonic blast, icecream cookie sandwiches, shakes, sodas they all have toppings and add on flavors that make it seem endless. Love coming to sonic but from this day forward I will never come back ever again you've completely lost my business and my families business. Came here to grab a grilled cheese double burger and a crispy chicken sandwich and a peanut butter shake. If you look at the photos that I have posted that's what they stuck in my chicken sandwich as you can see it looks really sad it looks like a piece of tender and the sad part is they charge me six dollars for this and thought it was okay. My husband ordered a grilled cheese double burger this is what it supposed to look like and this is a sloppy suppose burger we got in my photo. When we we back and brought the receipt back to let them know with the photos what we received and what a should look like. My husband was met with a general manager by the name of Taylor pretty much telling him that he can't do absolutely nothing at all for him and that he could have a great day. For someone who works in food service that's a pretty awful attitude. Take it from someone who's been in the food business for over 20 year this is not how you win clients. It's just sad that employees like this make places like that go down in business. Anything is people like us live in different towns and drive up here for this we will no longer do this. I'm a huge fan of Sonic dessert. I've never had any of their food offerings, as we typically go for a sweet treat. One thing I love about Sonic is the ability to drive up and eat in your car. It's perfect for those with kids. They also have outdoor seating, so it's easy to social distance. You can order on the app or using their menu/intercom system or via drive-thru. It's super easy! On the app, they often have deals, so be sure to check it out. We've gotten a Sonic Blast with M&M's. My boys loved the mini M&M's, and they definitely gave the ice cream a rainbow effect. The last time we went, we got the S'mores Shake. It had marshmallow whipped cream and graham cracker crumbs. The shake itself was sweet and had a hint of graham cracker with chocolate chips. My son loved the cherry on top. As for service, they are pretty fast. Can't believe I've been a California resident for over 30 years and have never been to a Sonic Drive In til today. Drove 20 minutes to the closest one and I'm not disappointed. Pricing is comparable to Wendy's. The food is acceptable to good. The young man who delivered the food to our car was pleasant and polite, so was the lady on the speaker. I ordered through the app and the process was smooth for the most part. One star off because the facility is outdated and could use an update. We pressed the button to order and it was about a five second wait until someone came on the speaker to take our order. The gentleman was patient enough with us since we didn't know what to order. Food: American hot dog: I didn't eat the hot dog but my boyfriend said it was good. Fries: The fries are pretty good! I would definitely come back for the fries. It's not over salted and has the right crunch. Hot fudge sundae with nuts: They gave way too much in the cup. It was melting all over and I couldn't even eat it w/o making a mess. It's like any other sundae. Mozzarella sticks: They forgot the marinara sauce! So disappointmented... It was crunchy and flavor was there but I really wanted my sauce to go with it. My first Sonic experience. Tots were perfectly crisp on the outside and tendering the inside. They were on the salty side, but I like salt so the sodium levels were fine for my palette. My Chicago dog was just OK. My boyfriend's Texas toast cheeseburger looked pretty sad. The photo made it look huge, but in reality it had flabby bread and the tiniest onion ring topping the patty. My custom peanut butter banana mini shake was delicious, with chunks of real banana. The strawberry cheesecake shake had pockets of sour flavor, which I guess was cream cheese flavor, but I didn't particularly like the flavor. All in all, a generic fast food experience with some different options and a large drink and dessert menu. read more

Superb places for big coney dogs and decent burgers. The best of course are their slushes and desserts. I don't like ordering through their menu board machines but oh well! You can order from a menu board in your parking stall also just like the old school drive-ins. Kinda cool, but I go up to the seating area menu boards to order. They don't do orders at the window where the employees are. It sucked big time when a SONIC was slated for the area across from Natomas Marketplace but never materialized the the project along with TGIF were scrapped. I come to this Woodland location usually and rarely hit up the Roseville spot inside a gas station. Slushes are usually 1/2 price between 2-4 and desserts on sale from 8 pm to close in the summer. Not sure if all seasons, but summer for sure. I dig this spot for a fast food fix on occasion. I def. can recommend Sonic! read more

this is my first and last time coming to the sonic. I asked for a five piece jumbo popcorn chicken and I got a three piece chicken tender. Traveling to Woodland once/twice a month, I get a chance to stop at Sonic: a chance I otherwise would not have, because I live in Sacramento and there are no Sonic Drive-In's in Sacramento. For me, I don't care about the burgers, the fries, the (sometimes on sale) corn dogs: Sonic for me is my (only) destination to get an elusive sour (green) apple slush. I LOVE sour apple slushies. Very very rarely, I will see this flavor at a 7-11 in a slurpee machine, and even more rare in a Slush Puppie (because Slush Puppies have become rare nowadays). I know that Sonic will ALWAYS ALWAYS have sour green apple slush, and so when I am nearby this is where I will sometimes stop. Happy Hour: What a concept, I love it. 1/2 price drinks (that totally include slushies) gets me totally on board. I've been to Sonic in So-Cal, in Roseville, in Vacaville: THIS Woodland Sonic is the one where I have ALWAYS experienced friendly employees, who never tried to rush me. Oh by the way, I always drive through the drive-thru. Sonic burger is a place you can find a parking spot and they will come up to your car, but I prefer drive through cause I'm usually already in Woodland for a reason other than Sonic Burger. Don't drink your drink too fast though: for some reasons the slushies from Sonic give me brain freeze way faster/easier than if I enjoy slush or milkshake from any other place. They even have some kind of blue coconut slush that is pretty good! I even tried their Lavender Milkshake (surprised to see that) which though I love Lavender flavored stuff, I don't recommend it over the highly amazing sour apple slush during happy hour. read more

I really would live to give this place a better star rating but it's hard when they are consistently rude and serve barely warm food. We went for lunch with a group of work friends and we all left upset with the service and quality of food. We have been to other sonic drive-ins and this one falls behind them in service and quality. The sandwiches and tater tots are old and barely warm. My friends tenders also warm and seemed like they have been cooked hours ago. The employees seemed annoyed that we stopped by to order food and made us feel unwelcome. I really hope they change their standards because I like Sonics food in general. I will try again soon and try to give them another chance. They did follow safety guidelines with mask and gloves and we did the same all wearing masks and enjoyed our food in the car. read more
