I ordered a chocolate oreo blast, they forgot to put chocolate in it. So, they made me a second one and in the second one, they literally put one scoop of oreo at the bottom of my medium blast and filled the rest with plain ice cream. When I told the workers this isn't what i wanted they got very snappy at me. I showed the carhop my disgraceful blast and she said there is nothing she can do other than give me a scoop of oreo bits in a cup. The consumer service was horrible they did not respect me at all and made me feel unsafe being on their lot. This is without a doubt the worst Sonic in Kansas. I have lived in Valley Center for 5 years and I would say on average they get your order right 10% of the time. We have sent back the wrong food and they have brought that same food out to us again. Forget to but all the food in the bag, consistently making the order wrong, leave you waiting in the drive thru forever. I called and complained and supposedly they have to mail you 2 "gift cards" wasn't a shocker when they never showed up in the mail. I believe you take away at least one good learning experience from every relationship you make. My good learning experience from my Ex Husband was Sonic Burger. Seriously - for all his faults and short comings, the man introduced me to the concept of the Strawberry Limeaide, the frito pie and a grilled cheese sammy on texas toast. This Sonic gets 5 stars in my review because it was my first chance at trying it when we were visiting his hometown. I have since traveled many many places in the past 10 years, chasing that first delicious Sonic flavor and joy that I got upon my first sip of what could only be considered perfectiong (the Strawberry limeade) And for that, I thank you Mr. Ex Husband, and to Sonic, you will always be in my heart... if you choose to ever come and make a permanent home in Sonoma County - I may weigh 500 pounds, so perhaps it's best to keep our relationship at bay. read more

For the hundredth time Sonic screwed up my order. First I waited for 5 minutes for someone to take my order in the drive through. Then when I was given my drinks the one looked like peach tea which is what I ordered but when I got home and took a sip I realized that it was cherry coke or some fountain drink. As a former Sonic Employee, I can say that the service here is good and the food quality is fantastic. They no longer had the Chicken Club Toaster on the menu, but I described it to the car hop and she rang it up perfectly. I also ordered Chili Cheese Tots and a Route 44 cherry vanilla dr. Pepper. The carhop was friendly and thorough. The Chicken Club came out exactly as expected and was a great temperature. The chili cheese tots came out hot and very good. The drink mix was perfect (sonic employees have to add the correct amounts of cherry and vanilla to the beverage). Definitely will return to this location. read more

This Sonic in Valley Center has got to be, quite easily, the most mis-managed Sonic I've ever been too. Being a resident of Valley Center, we are encouraged to "shop local". I've tried and tried to be faithful to our local Sonic-but, my family and I are consistently met with poor customer service. I truly believe that a successful business starts with ownership. I don't know who owns this particular location-but, they need to wake up and invest in their store. The current management doesn't seem to care. The employees don't care. So, why should a resident care? And, it's not just one thing. They have bad drive thru times, poor food quality, poor wait time to even answer a waiting parked car, etc. I've been by several times and was told they were "out" of a product-including feature products. How does that happen? I can go five miles up the road and receive fantastic service from the next towns local Sonic. I'd be embarrassed to manage such a poor performing store-let alone own it. The Valley Center location needs to really re-evaluate who they are and where they want to go. Having employees that don't care is hurting the franchise. Until I hear of positive change-I will not be buying from this Sonic. I'll drive ten minutes out of my way to a better ran location. read more
