I highly recommend not coming here until there are new staff i ordered chicken tenders and a large order of chili cheese fries. They gave me taters tots Instead. I came back, gave me a small told him it was the wrong size and then gave me 2 medium, and they were both tater tots and not fries... this was the worst experience I've ever had at sonic read more

Sonic Drive-In - Burgers Near Me - Taos, New Mexico

Apparently they are so short handed that they wouldn't even let me order at the pull ins, I had to go through the drive through and it took forever. It took over 30 minutes in line before we even ordered them another minutes to get our order. I felt bad that they needed the help but wow. I only ordered drinks and they were fine. It was the wait that was brutal. read more

I ordered a jr sonic burger and was the size of a sonic kids meal burger it came with nothing but the bun, mayo, ketchup and a thin piece of meat wow they are getting as bad as Whataburger read more

It's Sonic, so you know what you're getting, right? But this Sonic needs help. It's obvious they're struggling to maintain a full staff. There were maybe two dozen cars waiting for food but only one single guy running orders out to the cars. (Yes, we tipped him *very* well, poor dude.) When I peeked inside the prep area I noticed there were a LOT of orders backed up waiting to be delivered, so I think if they could hire a couple more carhops most of their issues would be solved. And most Sonics have a picnic bench or table or two for folks like us: walk-ups, and bicyclists. This one had zero seating available. Maybe a COVID thing? Maybe just a problem? I hope this Sonic can sort out these issues; I hate to see my go-to for the diet cherry limeade have to shutter. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Waited in line for 35 minutes to get a sonic blast. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you have at least an hour to burn read more

Waited in drive thru for 20 minutes for a lukewarm burger and cold tater tots. When I complained I was told they are short handed. I will never come back here because the same exact thing happened about a month ago but I decided to give them a second chance. read more

On their drive through menu it says the large ice cream blasts are 6 dollars each but in reality they are 8 dollars. So when i came to the window thinking i was gonna get 12 dollars for two ice creams but then finding out they were 8 dollars. Be Careful with spending money especially if you're on a budget and ask them for their actual prices. I was even thinking about telling them that they should fix the menu and they should because they will have people confused. And they also taxed me for 1.45 cents. Idc if its even 45 cents they cannot be charging tax on food. read more

This sonic was short staffed but I was still disappointed to have to wait 45 minutes (most of that was before taking our order!) when I got my food, a popcorn chicken combo with fries and a limeade. Half of my popcorn chicken was just fried batter and all of my fries were hard, cold, and at least a day old. I would like to try to understand they are short staffed but it was a bad experience. read more

Avoid this Sonic in Taos. Their service is horrible and way to slow. I pulled in and ordered a large vanilla milkshake (an easy order to make) and I waited 20-25 minutes to bring it to my truck. I only had a $50 and a few $1's on me and the dude did not have $40-$45 in change and was not going to go back inside where Sonic obviously had that amount of change. I had watched every car that arrived in the drive-thru after I started waiting in a stall be serviced and gone. Sonic chose to service 12-15 cars ahead of me. I kept feeling like leaving and started to a few times and was told my order would be right out so I foolishly kept waiting. When my simple milkshake finally came with Sonic unwilling to make change for this transaction I finally did leave Sonic in Taos ..... without my milkshake. read more

Reviews don't lie. The owner needs to get in the 30 minute line , order some food and taste that disgusting food. Dinner money well wasted. read more

OK the hours say that they're open till 10 PM. I'm waiting in the drive-through before 9 o'clock I get to the monitor and the speaker and a lady comes on so sorry we're closed and then won't answer won't talk to me. I'm here from out of town and I was looking for some food before I went to bed unfortunately sonic doesn't take care of their customers or honor their hours they made me feel like I want rip place apart after wasting 15 minutes in line just to be shut out when it's my turn and then they won't answer the phone or talk to me on the speaker. read more

Typical these days. Sat in drive-thru line for a bit only to be told once I got to the speaker that they were closed/closing. TWO HOURS before the posted hours. Figure it out and stop inconveniencing people. read more

This place is terrible! Drove up to the drive In and was told we had to go through the drive through at 8:00 pm. Got to the drive Thru and the staff cut me off before I even got a sentence completed completely rude! Got to the window and finally got drinks after 10 minutes. Money and receipts were laying all over the counter and the employee was slinging receipts and $20 dollar bills in the floor. This place Shouldn't even be open if the owner does not even care about customer service!!! read more

If I could rate this location a 0 I would!!! We were literally waiting 30 plus minutes with only us and 2 other vehicles at this location. The manager came out and started raising his voice at us and being incredibly disrespectful after we pressed the button to ask if our order would be out soon. He lied saying there were 30+ orders when there was only 1 car in front of us and 1 sitting in the drive thru that pulled up after us. Rather than refunding our food we were publicly humiliated. I called to ask for upper management's contact information at which point the manager (male with dark black hair) hung up on us twice. I'm requesting a call to resolve this issue. The manager needs to be fired after treating customers in this manner. read more

The service was slow and drinks at this location were gross. I was so happy to see a Sonic because an ice cold slush sounded amazing after spending the day at the Pueblo. We ordered a couple of slushes, but unfortunately they were both overly sweetened and undrinkable, which we didn't find out until after driving away. Needless to say we will not be returning to this location ever. read more

Waited 40 minutes for 4 drinks. We checked on our order after 25 mins and were told "we'll get to you when we get to you". Thanks for making it easy to go somewhere else. We ended up leaving because no drink is worth an almost hour wait. read more

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. My chicken strips were tiny and COLD! Asked for fries, got tater-tots, the gravy was WATER.

Worst service I've ever received from a sonic. Seems to be a pattern with Taos. Waited at stall for 10 minutes and no one answered, then went to drive thru and the dude barely spoke English and messed up Our order. Taos customer service is awful. read more

The last few times I came were awesome with the new management! The food tasted so fresh and came out promptly. Giving a 2 star review because of the customer service we just received. My grandmother was placing her order and the worker rushed her extremely rudely which would've been easily ignorable, but then she screamed at my grandmother through the drive thru. NOT OKAY. read more

Friday night, 9 PM, don't bother pulling into one of the stalls because no one will ever answer when you push the button!!! If a you are not going to service the stalls why don't you turn off the lights on them? I waited at one stall for 10 minutes, went to a second stall for another 10 minutes while people are driving through the drive-thru to get service and still leaving before me!!!! I parked at stall number 2 where one of the workers looked outside and saw my car parked there with the lights on but yet nobody bothered to answer the button. Hire people who can multitask or at least hire more staff!!! I ordered a green Chile cheeseburger minus the cheese. After finally getting my order thru the drive thru and getting home with it- my burger only had the bun, meat, and Chile. Yet the picture in the menu includes lettuce, tomatoes, pickles. Only thing good at this place are the drinks!!!! read more

What a welcome relief from another fast food joint in this town! The usual refreshing drinks (luv the Route 44 cherry limeade!!); didn't try the food here. But friendly, courteous, efficient staff and service -- even late at night ! read more

$7 for a milkshake?? I visited Sonic's today to try to buy a milkshake for $4.99. Upon contemplating, I decided to add on a cone for an additional $0.50 - this brings the subtotal to $5.49 cents. Tax in Taos is 8.1875% - this would bring the total to $5.93. Yet somehow my bill came out to over $7. I asked about this, and was told that there is a special restaurant tax in Taos which tacks on an additional 20% - never heard of this, never coming back. Later! read more

It's sad to see this restaurant go under. It was good at once upon a time. You can't even park and order they won't help you they send you to the drive thru they are just as bad as a lot of restaurants hear in Taos if you can't fully open up then close down. And even if you go to the drive thru your order is of food is always cold and it's a drag to eat it cold. read more

Pretty much every fast food place in Taos has gone downhill besides Sonic. The employees are kind and the food is good. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but you know what I would rather wait a little longer to get good food than get something gross that came out quickly. I realize that Sonic isn't gourmet cuisine, but I needed something before an appointment and this did the trick. read more

They completely messed up my order., This is after I corrected the employee because she had the wrong order ! She was rude when I asked for a medium half lemonade have unsweetened she yelled stating they didn't have any tea . Geez I know it's not easy to work for fast food places . But the rudeness is very uncalled for ! read more

Rude staff. Long wait times for just drinks. Closes drive thru at random hours. Not worth the time.

We only went here because we were looking for cheap eats, and it was right off the highway. Maybe we were just ignorant, but after the intercom-ordering system at carside (a big attraction) didn't work, we went in to order -- and found ourselves right in the kitchen. Apparently there is no over the counter service at all. And while the unsurprisingly flustered kitchen person nicely took our order while we were awkwardly standing there, we got to see a bunch of intimidating notices from the manager stating, for instance, that anyone who failed three times to ask people ordering if they wanted something in addition would be fired. Cheery. Anyway, so we retired to the car to wait for the order. The burger I got was skinny and slimy, and my sweetie's "grilled chicken salad" was made with lettuce that had obviously been treated with lemon juice or some other substance to give it the appearance of freshness when in fact it tasted like three days old, which we were certain it was. If I were you, I'd try a local, non-chain place if you're looking for better fast food. You must be able to do better. read more

Waited 15 minutes. Pushed the red button 3 times. Nothing. Not even "we'll be right with you." Went to the drive thru, waited 10 minutes, no movement. Headed to anywhere else. UPDATE- tried again months later. Spent 20 minutes trying to give my order. Left again with no food. The drive through was not moving at all. read more

Destiny does not enjoy her job it seems, she is rude and unappreciative. She didn't thank me, or greet me. She only said thank you when I screamed it through the window she closed in my face after half heartedly chucking me my receipt. I waited in line ever so patiently and missed the happy hour prices due to the slow drive-thru production line. Can't a girl get a happy hour slushy and a thank you? read more

Tried the New Red bull slush but added some nerds to it. I got my drink in about 10 minutes without nerds. They came out after I told them and swapped out my drink for a nerds slush. I was not given a red bull slush this time, It was like blue raspberry or some shit. I think they were on drugs today, which is cool. But get my order correct that shit was almost 6 dollars read more

They took to long and they are supposed to serve to the lanes before the drive thru we waited about 20 minute for 4 drinks

we waited there for over 40 minutes for one burger. they didn't even make the burger properly. this is a sad excuse for a restaurant. there were 3 other cars in the lot and there are absolutely no excuses. you people are always rude and from someone who works in the food industry, your entire establishment should be ashamed. sonic or not it should be better. read more

Fucking disgusting I swear every time I fucking go here there is always a problem either they give away your food or they make it shitty but sometimes they make it good. This one time me and my fiancé waited about 30 mins for them to get us our food and they came out and said the kitchen gave it away but we will give you coupons for the next time they gave us one coupon for a free route 44 drink.the worst part is there drinks they don't mix the flavoring with the slushees at all they barley put any soda in there strawberry lime aid. Plus not to mention they aren't even open till midnight.... also they didn't even cook the bacon right they basically just warmed it up.... in the words of Gordon Ramses the food here is fucking terrible if you don't know how to cook don't be in the kitchen. I give it a zero stars read more

I just went to sonic and I waited 5 minutes before a girl rudely got on the mic saying I needed to hold on. Cars started to pile up and people were leaving, then she rudely asked what I wanted to eat. I got to the window and asked who I was speaking to, of course the girl who was taking my order wasn't at the window but I heard the girl in the back talking nasty about me. I was never rude, demanding, or mean but she was very hostile. My tater tots were cold. I understand it's Easter and no one wants to be working but it's still her job to provide decent customer service. read more

This f%$#@&% place Sucks Monkey balls, one car ahead of me 15 minutes in drivethru chocking on exhaust fumes...

I have been reading the Charlaine Harris novels lately and they are a hoot. The reason this is relevant is because the main characters of these southern novels are Sookie and Harper and they are both patrons of sonic on occasion. I was intrigued, we have sonic commercials in the LBC, but no sonic. We went, the shakes were yumm, the food meh. read more
