My Lovely Wife has been busy these past few days, preparing our meals, doing laundry, and all kinds of her office filing, and running errands. By the end of the day, she is exhausted. During this time, I have also been busy working somewhat in the yard and cleaning up the garage, and doing a few chores around the house. So, since this is Sunday, I offered to take her out for Dinner at a place we have not been to for about a year, together, that is. That, my dear friends, is Sonic Drive-In. I have been here before and tried this same Smasher, and I was very impressed. It's loaded and very tasty. Now, I want her to experience this Deliciously-Sloppy Smasher. I informed her of their All-American Smasher Meal, which they have had out since January, for a limited time. That's a mighty long limited time. She sounded excited to give it a try and is looking forward to going. The entire meal is only 6-Bucks, and consists of Two-Smasher Seasoned, Angus Beef Patties with 2-slices of Cheese, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Pickles and Sauce on a Big Soft Bun. Served with your choice of Tator Tots or Crinkle Fries, and a medium drink of your choice. Since we are eating in the car, I decided to take along one of those Bed Serving Trays to place between the front seats. This will make it easier for the two of us to enjoy our meal without dripping half the Smasher onto our laps. Around our dinner time, we headed out to Sonic on Knickerbocker Rd. Pulled into a slot and began placing our order. Here is how that went. Me: "Would like two of the $6 All-American Smasher Meals, loaded, with French Fries and one Diet Coke, Medium, and one Diet Dr Pepper, Medium." Sonic Order Taker Lady: "Would you like Tots or Fries with that?" Me: "French Fries". Sonic Order Taker Lady: "Okay, got it." That's when I noticed on the screen that it read Two Medium Diet Cokes. Me: "Change one of the drinks to a Diet Dr Pepper, Medium." Sonic Order Taker Lady: "Okay, got it." That's when Charlie Browns Mother mumbled back our order. I did see Two All-American Smashers on the screen, and that's what we came for. The cost was also shown as $12.99 for both our meals. That sounds great - what a deal. While we waited for our food, I positioned the Bed Serving Tray between the front seats to hold our food - it fits perfectly. Soon, the screen showed "Sunny is bringing out your order." Nice Touch. Paid for the food, and attempted to give Sunny a Tip, but she left in a flash, like she's some kind of a Superhero. She was gone, so we figured we would see her again serving others and would flag her down to give her the tip. The Bag she handed us is filled to the top and is pretty heavy. Removed the Crinkle Fries first, then the Smasher Burgers in those cardboard containers. Our drinks are on the Bed Serving Tray, which my Wife found out they both are Diet Dr Peppers. Oh well, that's okay because we both like Diet Dr Pepper. It's also that way on the receipt. Guess the Sonic Order Lady got things mixed up. Opened up the containers of Smasher Burgers, and these things are HUGE. My Wife is totally impressed. That's a Mighty Big Burger, and it is Loaded with lots of Lettuce and thick Tomato slices. She took her first bite and Loved it. She said it's very tasty, and sloppy. We both enjoyed every bite of this Monster All-American Smasher Burger with lots of gooey-cheese. We also have lots of paper towels to catch the drippings. With this Smasher, it's much needed. The Crinkle Fries are prepared perfectly and have a nice crunch to them, along with the right amount of salt. For only 6-Bucks each, it's one Great Deal Around. We finished off our Smashers and used lots of napkins and paper towels, and did not drip anything on us or my Wife's car. That's one of the problems about going to a Drive-In and eating in your car. My Wife's car is going to smell like cheeseburgers inside for at least a week, but it will remind us of the great burgers we enjoyed. My Baby ate all of hers, and I was impressed. She usually eats only one patty, and sometimes doesn't finish it. So, this All-American Smasher was a Big Hit with her. Those Smasher Burgers were Slloppylicious, and we both love Sloppylicious. We saw Sunny a few times and tried to get her to come over, but she never looked our way. All the Car Hops here were very busy, and at least one of them had roller-skates on. She was hauling, even with the bags of food she was serving. If you haven't tried Sonic All-American Smasher as yet, do so soon. The price alone is worth the try. They also have lots of Smasher Meals to choose from besides the one we ordered, but they are more the 6-Bucks, and I'm sure they are also Tastyliciouslyliciousness. They even have a Triple. I ordered a double smasher burger and got half of a patty. Not even one full patty.

the person who took our order was incredibly rude and short. Then the food was delivered and was cold. Then when we arrived home our sauces were wrong. Because of all of this I called to notify how sloppy and rude the service was. The food was made with minimal effort. I ordered a 3 piece chicken tender meal and all 3 tenders were burnt and extremely greasy. I could only eat one before feeling like I was gonna throw up. Today Sonic offered coney dogs for 1.39. I ordered some. I have never seen such a cheap ass method of dog making. It appears they made foot long coneys, cut them into 5 inch coneys. I am thinking i got 5 coneys that were missing one inch each. so who got to eat the missing 5 inches of hot dog. instead of 30 inches of coneys I got 25 inches! They cheat you on their blasts also. I don't order those any more! They prepare the blast but before putting it in the cup, they Fill the bottom 2 inches of the cup with plain vanilla ice cream. You slimy bastards! read more

i have been eating at Sonic for years - today I ordered several food products however the Sonic cheeseburger with bacon was far the worst Sonic cheeseburger with bacon I've ever had in that I got sick with diarrhea in addition the Sonic cheeseburger had no vegetables. The nearest Sonic to our home, is an hour away. We were on vacation and there it was. So we gave it a try. We were very happy with the service and the food. I did have to back up our truck just a bit. My fault. We liked it so much that we did a second time. And I did not have to back up the truck. Better than whataburger. read more

I now know this is the crappy sonic in San Angelo. Every time I go to this one it's always something wrong with the order or food is not great. I tried not to ride them off so quickly but it's every time! This morning when I went for breakfast, my boyfriend and I order two coffees, which were both cold. The tater tots were okay at least. But we also ordered the croissant breakfast sandwiches, I should call them "the croissquish" sandwich. They were RIDICULOUSLY flattened out. Food here is usually decent. But, don't get the hot dogs. I've had several and the bun is always completely soggy and falls apart. I think they must be pulling the weiners from water and putting them in the bun while they are still wet, but I still don't see how that could account for all the water in the bun. Maybe the toppings aren't drained. Once I sent one back and they were really nice about it. The replacement was fine. Last time I asked for a fork and told them the bun was sopping wet and I couldn't pick it up. They brought a fork but said nothing about the condition of the food. They are always nice, but their attention to detail is a lacking. BTW, this review is for the Knickerbocker location. I've never had that problem at the Beauregard location. read more

They are really busy but I love Sonic. They are a franchise. I was management at the one in Andrews, Texas in 1978. A long, long time ago. I wasn't looking for a job. They have a huge assortment of ice cold drinks and thebfood is hot and fresh. Every time I try to go here, they constantly remind me why I go to another location. Once, they delivered my food and left me sitting there wondering if they were gonna come back and take my money or if my meal was free. okay so I go to this sonic like every other day because it's right by my house and usually the service is alright but the drinks always suck and taste watered down. but today i went to get two vanilla dr peppers and two grilled cheeses. easy right? well our drinks tasted watered down (as usual) and my grilled cheese was not cooked. they just gave me two pieces of uncooked break and a slice of cheese. so i asked them for another one and they said they would bring a fresh one out for me. ok cool but when i got the new grilled cheese it was burnt and had literally NO cheese in it. just two burnt breads with a hint of cheese. sorry but what are you doing sonic on knickerbocker!??????! read more

We always go to this sonic because it is right here by our house. I always order our drinks on the app and then call ahead to add the extras that the app has never offered. I always offer to pay the extra amount, but they usually say it's ok. I wasn't mad at the fact that I had to pay the extra today because like always I tell them that I will. I get there today and they tell me they are going to start double charging me. Then the carhop tried to tell me that I was able to add the cream on the app. Yes I see there is creamer on the app, but the cream is different. I checked the app just to make sure and guess what no option to add cream. There isn't even an option to get easy ice. Please don't up-charge me or punish for your companies mess up. read more

All the car hops are very sweet, if your drink or food is wrong they'll bring you a brand new one. Sometimes the popcorn chicken is a little over cooked but the majority of the food is always great. They got rid of the chicken club toaster, sad day. read more

Probably the worst sonic I've ever been to. They changed the chicken strips while advertising the old ones, they were gross and cold. Then my fiancé drank half of his tea only to suck up paper towel I wouldn't recommend anyone eat there is unsanitary. I wish it would let me post the pics I took of the food and drink. They have GREAT employees, the food, & drinks are FANTASTIC!! And, they always have something new to try. It's always with a big smile, that we are greeted. A small chili cheese tater tot now comes in the mini holder. When I asked what the difference was between a mini order and a small I was told that a mini is six tater tots and a small is ten. My friend and I went to Sonic and ordered a foot long hot dog and drink. They were the worst we have ever gotten! The buns were in pieces and there was about a teaspoon of chili on each one, no mustard or onions or cheese!
