Ive never made a negative review for a restaurant but my experience today was so awful I couldn't keep it quite. I placed a mobile order at 12:03 and checked in at 12:11. I sat and I sat as more customers came and gone with their food. At 1:03 I decided to go through the drive through after calling 3 times to try to get a hold of an employee. When I went to the drive through they eventually gave me my melted milkshake and cold smash burger. The receipt they gave me said the order was completed at 12:08. After finally getting my food and driving away I picked up my milkshake only to discover they lid was not fully placed on spilling it all of my self and my car. I have never had a bad experience at this Sonic. Food is always ready in a timely manner, staff is always friendly and attentive, and prices are reasonable (given the times we are in). I love the flavor combinations you can get for your drinks. (Sprite + cranberry - trust me). My favorite thing to order at Sonic is their soft pretzel with cheese (watch out Auntie Anne's!). I've always loved their onion rings as well. The onion ring batter is sweet and almost tastes like vanilla. I will continue to visit Sonic when I am I need of an affordable, fast meal! read more

Wow... don't even... cold fries with cold queso sauce; my smash burger was good until my friend found not 1 but 2 very long hairs in her...one of the hairs attached to some kind of sticky food. It's 7 PM on a Saturday night and my boyfriend and I just went to enjoy some drinks. That's all we wanted! It took them 7 minutes before they even answered the intercom (we were only the 2nd car in line) and then took us over 15 minutes to get through the drive through. They then gave us two medium drinks and one large drink when we ordered three large drinks. When we got the two medium, my boyfriend said "I thought I asked for large not mediums" and the guy confidently says "no you ordered mediums." Which was not right, he ordered largest, I heard him, and so did the kid taking our order but he failed to pay attention. He also gave us two wrong drinks, only one was the right drink. Which we didn't find out until we went home because they didn't give us straws. It sucks that in today's world people are getting paid to not do anything at their job. It's terrible. read more

Ordered small onion rings. Received 4 below average sized, cold rings. Went to speak to manager who said: "4 rings is what you get in a small." So if small rings cost $3.29, that means each small, cold onion ring was 0.85 each. I think this is highway robbery. I will not be back. The product is low quality, not good value for the money. I went yesterday night and pulled in to one of the ordering spots. As I was ordering I asked for "A Sonic blast w M&Ms and Snickers but very lightly so it doesn't become overwhelming" when she repeated the order back she said "2 sonic blast one m&ms and one snickers extra candy". It's a burger joint. Nothing flashy. Hot dogs and burgers, plus. Most business is car traffic. Pull in a parking space, place your order like most any other drive through. Sit and wait for your food, it gets hung off your car window, pay at car side, enjoy your meal, let them take the window tray and then back your car out of spot, and be on your way. read more

I can't begin to express how excited I am that Sonic is back open again! I don't live close, I actually live about 45 minutes away from this location, however it's the only one open anymore. Today while doing work in the area I knew I had to stop! Service was great and quick! The gal who brought out our food was very nice. Another gal came by seconds after getting our food to ask if we wanted any sauce. The quality of the food was great for the quantity! Warning to those who eat at Sonic. AVOID THE SONIC IN MOUNT JOY PA! Mom took the family there last night. I ordered a bacon toaster. In the picture below is the 1st soggy sandwich and the 2nd got worse... note I didn't eat them that was out of the wrapper. The manager didn't apologize grabbed the sandwiches of the back of mom's car leaving a mess didn't clean it and was angry because I asked for a refund. He offered to make a 3rd but I think after the 1st 2 that was it for me. I posted photos on face book. Will furnish photos upon request! Moms cheese dog looked like it sat for 30min cheese in bag and bun was shrunken. She ate it, but i think it was all poor service. This manager was not apologetic to me. The concept of a sonic is pretty great: Drive- In dining. Sonic also offers a drive though and an outdoor seating area. The outdoor seating area is perfect if you have a dog. The food is...okay. For me, the corn dog is the stand out star of their menu. I love corn dogs- and there are not too many places that serve a good corn dog. Plus it is less than $2 off the everyday value menu- how can you beat that! (The everyday value menu is pretty hard to find- but look close enough and it should be in small type on the bottom corner.) The rest of the food is okay- what you would expect from fast food. I recently ordered the chicken strip sandwich, and was disappointed. The chicken was not in strips- but in nuggets which was awkward to eat in sandwich form. Also the bread had a few soggy spots- ew. They do have a great drink selection- and you can't beat happy hour- half priced drinks from two to four. If you are getting a soda make sure you ask for easy ice- otherwise they load the cup with ice not soda. The servers were very friendly and willing to accommodate at this location- even coming back to check on us mid lunch. It did take awhile to order the food though, as one of the out-door seating mics was broken. Sonic is a cool place to visit every once in a while. read more

We came from Harrisburg since our local one closed prior to the pandemic. It had been too long since we had the slushes so we took a drive. No mistakes and they were very quick 47 seconds from order to car. The Harrisburg location would take 20-30 minutes for the same order. read more

I come here once in a while and when I do, I'm rarely disappointed. Shakes are great, food is pretty good, but my only complaint is that my tots are sometimes cold. Other than that, I love it, and plan to continue returning! The employees that deliver the food are the ones I see the most, and they're very kind most of the time. Most of the bad reviews tend to point out that food may take a while, but personally I dont mind waiting a bit to get hot food! I do wish that the card readers worked properly, but that's quite minor to me since they're happy to help with making sure my card went through. read more

They don't have 1/2 of the products on the menu. They didn't provide utensils or condiments. My strawberry shake was vanilla with a slight tint of pink. Food was terrible. Won't come back ever! Honestly, I'm seeing a ton of bad reviews here for this location. Honestly, I didn't have a bad experience. I ordered the Popcorn Chicken with tots and was adventurous by getting a Dr. Pepper with Strawberry. And it cost me under 10 bucks so that was good for me. I know I don't go here too often, but when I do, I love just sitting in my car and eating. However, this place isn't perfect. The tots seemed a little spicy, probably a pinch of pepper in them, and as for the Dr. Pepper, I got Strawberry Lumps stuck in my straw. But all in all, do like coming here if I can get here. Was excited to go to the newly reopened Sonic in Mt. Joy and equally excited about the Grilled Cheese Burger that is featured on their website and on TV ads. Pulled in and a car was blocking the side where cars could park and eat food. Went up to drive-in and the person taking our order had no idea what we were talking about. She said she would ask her manager and in the meantime, another order was placed and at that point she totaled it out without taking the other orders in the car. We drove around and showed a pic of what is on the app and they then filled the order while at the drive-up window. There was no place to park and eat since the one area was blocked off. Once we opened the bag, the Grilled Cheese Single Burger was on 2 UNGRILLED pieces of Texas Toast with a slab of cheese not even melted. 3 sodas were ordered (all the same) and 1 was something totally different. Were very disappointed and will not return to the Mt. Joy location. read more

For starters, when my wife got her drink,It had a hair in it. They had also mixed up our order, what we had ordered was not given to us and they gave us a sandwich instead. when I told the girl that was not what we ordered she gave the sandwich to somebody else and told me I could just ring the button and they'll have me pay the difference. I do this and I had to talk to the manager about just paying the difference. he said we have to give the sandwich back even though I had already tried to give the sandwich back and that the employee had given it away, not myself. I explained to him that the girl gave it away after I tried to return it but he kept asking if I have the sandwich. I can't have a sandwich I never even accepted. read more

For the past two years the staff at this Sonic has been truly incompetent. Always slow, always over-charging and always getting orders wrong. In that time, we have witnessed 5 cars leave without even being waited on. Two cars complained loudly, and one car left after ordering but without paying because their food was not out yet.
