We came in here the other day and ate our food inside, and the customer service was exceptional. Not only did they take our order in a very friendly fashion, but they also came around to our table and asked if we needed anything a couple different times. What wonderful workers they have. Towards the end of our meal, a worker came around with samples of their new peppermint Oreo shake. I normally don't like peppermint, but I love that I got to taste one of their new items without having to buy it. I actually really enjoyed it. The inside was clean and the soda area was well kept. My meal for myself was about $10, which is not too bad considering the inflation now.

Whether it's the enormous Rhino head or the massive dog leg stomping through the dining room, if whimsical vibes and seriously solid eats are your thing, City Bites in OKC is a hidden gem that's worth a stop. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the kind of hospitality that feels rare these days--our server didn't just take our order, he guided us through the menu like a sub-savvy tour guide. Super helpful, super kind. I'm now officially in a committed relationship with the California Club--both me and my oldest were sold from the first bite. That combo of turkey, bacon, avocado, and fresh fixings.Nom, nom, nom! My youngest went for the Philly Cheese, which had good flavor, but too many peppers for her preference. My better half dove into the Classic Loaded Stuffed Potato--creamy, hearty, and exactly the kind of comfort food you hope it'll be. The décor? Total character. Whimsical and playful without trying too hard--it actually makes waiting for your food fun. Think funky art meets cozy diner charm. Price wasn't bad at all... $56.00 for a family of 4. Cool vibe. Great food!

It was about 1 p.m. Last Monday and they still had a good crowd and it became busier while we were there. They have been in business for 23 years, having first opened its doors in 2003. Located at 610 Northeast 50th Street in a non- descript building. The interior is casual and pays tribute to the history of OU and OSU along with Oklahoma's rich Indian history. They have a lovely, very large outside patio with huge fireplace that in the fall will be spectacular. The menu is on the wall when you come and you place your order with the hostess, pay, and they bring it to you. I ordered the bolona sandwich with fried Okra. Jan ordered "Jeff's Favorite". A sandwich with sliced brisket and a hot link topped with cole slaw. She had them put the cole slaw on the side. As her side she ordered fried okra. Both sandwiches were very good. It was a good lunch and Jan was a happy camper.

On an unwavering mission, we rounded the corner east bound on Route 66 late in the afternoon. Our destination in sight, the Old Magnolia Garage. In I go, straight to the big fried pie display case. I really wasn't expecting to find anything left at this time of the day, but there they were, two blackberry pies. Somehow, they survived the morning feeding frenzy. They were immediately adopted, along with a strawberry. Tomorrow's breakfast delight. Nope, not as good as if I had been there when they came from the fryer, but good just the same with a fresh cup of coffee the next morning. Get there early!

A New #1 Burger in OKC!…read more Our Burger Passport adventure brought us to Spark at Scissortail Park, and I think I may have found my new favorite burger in Oklahoma City! This was our first visit, and from the moment we took our first bite, I couldn't stop telling my wife how incredible these burgers were. I ordered the BLC Burger topped with pimento cheese, bacon, a crispy cheddar crust, pickles, and Prairie Ranch. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the crispy cheddar crust took it over the top. Outstanding! My wife, Lori, ordered the Spark Burger, swapping the American cheese for cheddar. She absolutely loved it, especially the fresh dill pickles that added the perfect crunch and flavor. The crinkle-cut fries deserve a shout-out, too. They were cooked just the way I like them--nice and crispy. I ordered the signature Pink Sauce on the side, and the garlic aioli was excellent. Before we left, I asked to speak with a manager--not because there was a problem, but because I wanted to compliment the team. Marisol was genuinely excited to hear how much we enjoyed our meal. She also told us about their limited-time Chicken Salad Sandwich, available through the end of the summer, and after this experience, I think we'll definitely be back to give it a try. Spark checks every box for me: outstanding burgers, perfectly cooked fries, a fun atmosphere, and a friendly, welcoming staff. If you're looking for one of the best burgers in Oklahoma City, put Spark on your list. This one earns an easy 5 stars from me.

Many unhoused people were hanging around the outside in the park areas, and I might have been wary of bringing a child but I was alone so not much of an issue. The burgers were good. I don't think the burger sauce they added was necessary and didn't really add to it. I think I'd get them plain next time and add my own ketchup and mustard. The one thing I really hated though was that they want your number to text you when the order was ready. Just call a number. It doesn't make your business better and I dislike them having my number.
