I usually keep it simple with a classic sundae, but this time I decided to try a milkshake. Unfortunately, the milkshake was more milk than shake. I ordered cookies and cream and appreciated that they make everything homemade and allow you to select any ice cream flavor for your shake. However, the outcome literally tasted like milk. I did not taste cookies, cream, or any of the richness I expected. The texture and flavor were both overwhelmingly milky, which was disappointing. I will still return because this place is sentimental and has many other great options, but I will stick to my usual sundae moving forward.

I don't know any details of how anything was made, but it was so perfect. I'm a chronic never finisher of coffee, but I had to slow myself down to keep from finishing it within a couple minutes. The cold foam wasn't sweetened, which worried me, but after swirling it all together, it was just the perfect latte. The syrups didn't have any of the ickyness you sometimes find (maybe they're house made? I didn't ask) and the cold foam made for the most perfect consistency. I'm no coffee purist, but if you like a yummy drink that I don't think was over the top sweet, this was an amazing order! There is a discount for military and Veterans and for people of a certain age. You start learning the history of the area, and how it came to be populated.  This island is on top of a salt mine, and it is evidently very beneficial to growing of peppers, and if the popularity of Tabasco is any clue, it is beneficial to hot sauce. I never really realized the whole process it takes to make this sauce, but I guess that is the reason for this tour. It is very informative, and I am glad that it is self-paced, otherwise it might be overwhelming. The tour covers several buildings and is self-guided with information placards to let you know what you are looking at, which is nice. I never realized just how many different flavors of Tabasco there were. Simply amazing. And Tabasco chocolate? A bit too tangy for me, but my dad loved it. I would suggest this for anyone, lover of hot sauce or not. The price of admission also covers admission to the jungles, which I would suggest visiting as well. All in all, a very lovely day.

The owner of the place works next to her employees and is so sweet and humble too. The food is wonderful! No matter how busy they are you still get great service. I loved how close to the interstate the one in Scott, LA is, and my husband loved all the novelty/giant candies, such as the 26 lbs. gummy bear and the giant gummy worm. We went in early January and got to see the precious setup they had for Santa, so next year, we'll have to come when Santa is in!! We rode the train outside ($3/child) and was told that Santa rode the train into the building! So cute! Something about a candy store that brings joy to your heart and innocence from childhood.
