We were served immediately as the restaurant was slowing from the lunch rush. We ordered waters, the chicken strip lunch, and the bacon cheese burger (with no bun). The quality of the food felt homemade and cooked well. It was absolutely delicious and a great meal after a hot day outside. The restaurant itself was clean and felt like someone poured into decorating the restaurant to feel welcoming with a tinge of country. Overall a lovely place to stop, take your time, and enjoy good food and good service!

The food was average, but it took nearly an hour to get our waters and our order into the kitchen, and then another hour to get our food. One of the orders was incorrect, but we didn't want to wait another hour for them to remake it. There were 2 groups other patrons in the restaurant and one dude at the bar, so the restaurant was not packed. There was no excuse for the poor service, inaccurate order, and slow kitchen.

My sister got an iced toffee latte and I got a boring decaf black coffee. (Hahah) I was wondering if I was actually poured decaf because while sipping it in the thrift shop, I felt REALLY jittery. Like... bad. It was good and strong but I don't know if it was decaf. My sister liked her drink. Price: I think my sister paid $8-something for both. Hers was $6+. I don't get fancy coffee much so I don't know if that's normal or whatnot.

This is my husband's favorite breakfast. The biscuits and sausage gravy were amazing, in my husband's expert opinion. ( having consumed this dish almost everywhere) I had 'just avocado toast' (their no egg version) and it was very good. I suspect the bread was freshly baked and not from a commercial bakery. Now let's talk about the important thing. The coffee. They have a coffee, hot or iced called the 'Sweet Bourbon Brew'. I figured I was unlikely to get freshly roasted coffee with bourbon syrup from the nearby distillery anywhere else and went for it. It is AMAZING. I would come back just for this. Now, the restaurant itself. Live music on a Saturday morning. Kitschy, eclectic decor that was obviously quite intentional, and a DOLLY PARTON CORNER that has obviously existed for quite some time. Their motto appears to be a Dolly Parton quote. "If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours". Yes. It's that kind of place. They also seem to be attempting to control their carbon footprint.

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!
