Stopped in to get a slushee and a chili cheese dog as I haven't been here in years. The hot dog doesn't hit the same as it did years ago but it was still good. The slushee was really good as I got the blue raspberry. The service was pretty fast and friendly. My child was craving a chicken bites meal with regular French fries, so I placed the order accordingly and also asked for a side order of cheese fries for myself. Despite only one car being ahead of me in the drive-thru, the wait still took about 15 minutes. After receiving our order and driving away, my son quickly noticed that his fries were missing--we had only been given the cheese fries. Normally, I would have just shared mine, but since he can't have cheese, I returned to the drive-thru and request the missing fries. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or offering an apology, the employee directed me to go through the entire drive-thru process again to receive the missing item. This meant sitting in line once more, now behind four cars, which added another 20-25 minutes to our wait. This situation could have easily been resolved by handing over the missing fries immediately, instead of unnecessarily inconveniencing the customer even more. When we finally received the fries, they were supposed to be a medium, yet the portion resembled a small. By the time I got home--just five minutes away--my cheese fries had already turned cold, and the cheese had solidified. This isn't the first time I've had issues here; the last two visits also involved missing items. The quality of service has gone downhill, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. I went through the carry out line and no one was answering the request. I went into the building and there was only one person inside. He said that he was the only person there and was cooking. I placed an order at 6:35 pm and at 7:35 pm I decided to go up to the door. Te gentleman came out and I asked for a refund. He asked for my name and then he disappeared. At 7:55 I knocked again and he came out, asked for my name and disappeared. At 8:05 he handed me my order. The entire hour and a half the drive thru orders were being pushed through while the drive in orders, mine and those around me, had not received their orders. Additionally, the food I was given an hour and a half late was cold and stale. Not the usual comfort food I had grown up on. Today's generation of workers aren't it. I'm attaching a photo of my receipt to show that my order wasn't beyond complicated. Two burgers and two drinks and some chicken for my kids. On Christmas eve around noon, I ordered a regular hot dog with extra mustard with a drink. I had not eaten breakfast. After I ate the hot dog, my stomach felt "queasy" but I kept going. I didn't eat anything else on Christmas eve and this is normal for me. At about 1:30A on Christmas Day, I was vomiting and had diarrhea. I only vomited once but it was intense. My ribs were sore on Thursday (26th). I 100% believe the hot dog was either left out overnight and co-mingled with fresh hot dogs. I am posting this review to bring my situation to the attention of management. Hopefully, my review will be shared with the staff. read more

This Sonic location deserves an updated review. My last one was a 3 star, but now I'm bumping them up to 4 star because I've seen noticeable improvements. On my most recent trip, I download the Sonic app before leaving home to place my order. All I had to do when I arrived was to pull into a stall and check in on the app with my stall number. We came here at 9pm on a Saturday. 2 other cars there. We drove to a stall and pressed the button. Waited for 10 minutes. Pressed it again. Waited another 5. Drove to another stall and pressed the button. Another 5 minutes with people in another car staring at us as we pulled in. So we went to the drive through. We could hear people inside talking over the speaker but they told us to wait. So we waited about 5 more minutes, then the person inside said "you can go" which we took to mean we could order our food. Then we waited another 10 minutes at the window while 4 people inside did...something? Tried to give us the wrong order because apparently the people ahead of us gave up on this dumpster fire and just left. All in all it took us over half an hour to order an ice cream. By the time we left probably 10 other cars had showed up, waited, and given up without receiving any order or service. The food was standard. The service was pathetic, poorly managed, and poorly organized. The servers weren't friendly, and while I wasn't expecting anything spectacular going to Sonic on a Saturday night, I was expecting basic human courtesy or literally ANY service, let alone my correct order. read more

Sonic Drive-In on Shelby Ray Court in West Ashley is on of my favorite Sonic locations in the area and a reliable stop for all things burgers, tots, and good food when you are hungry and need something fast. I really like the different options here and being able to eat outside if you have a little more time. The service here is very good and they work hard to make sure that you have everything you want. read more

Legitimately the worst service I have ever received at a "restaurant". I have been to the location maybe a handle of times before the last two drove me to never come back. Each time, I waited for at least an hour and did not get my food. I also ordered ahead and was in a stall and no one would answer when I clicked the call button, after waiting patiently for 30 minutes. On top of that you can't cancel an order in the Sonic app so I had to go through my credit card to get it refunded, which is more of a knock on sonic and not the location. Still waiting more than an hour with only a handful of cars in the drive thru for fast food is unacceptable! Avoid this location at all costs! read more

The person also didn't turn the microphone off after we asked for a second and there was some language I'm glad my 4 month old doesn't understand yet. Don't order on the app, they'll probably get your order wrong. Well, they'll probably get it wrong even if you order there. The past 3 times I've been there they've left out at least one thing from my order. I had to go back through the drive thru & wait forever a second time only for them to tell me AFTER receiving & paying for my order that they're out of whatever it is they didn't give me. Literally the slowest fast food restaurant. Waited 25 minutes at a speaker waiting for somebody to take our order. And one of the three days that they have open, the drive-through was wrapped around the building to where you were trapped in the bay. Never got to even order. I came here for one of their new milkshakes... I wanted an oreo one but not the cheesecake base that was on the menu. They gladly made me an oreo milkshake with vanilla base just as I requested. Tastes great and pretty cheap. Knocked off one star for access. You kinda have to drive around the block to get in and out of here. I guess they wanted it to face Glenn McConnell so people could see it from the main road, but it's sorta weird to drive up to the back of the restaurant.
